Hello all, I am new to this forum and was wondering if I could ask your opinions. I have the opportunity to purchase either a used 2009 650 with 12K miles for $6000 or a new 2012 650 for $10,000. I just reviewed the video's on the "other" site and saw what a chore it was to fix the CVT so am not sure of either. Is this a common problem? Something I should be concerned with whether buying new or used? I am coming off an Harley Ultra and am used to trouble free riding. I would hate to get a Burgman and find that it is loaded with impending problems. So, what do you think? Either one worth considering? Thanks, Jeff

Trying to catch any good minute to ride my BMan and every moment is BLESS :-)
I never thought that it so much fun and pleasure :-)
I am looking for reasonable good quality side hard cases with mounting rack and wind screen for 2012 Burgman 650 Exec. Any opinion, ideas or advice are very much appreciated. I am riding to work and after that to gym or sometimes doing small shopping and want to add extra storage. And I really do need windshield because it's not much fun to ride between corn fields and have insects for snack :-)
Thx

Hi guys. I'm sure this must be covered somewhere but .......could anyone take me through what's involved in removing the rear wheel of a 2011 Burgman 650 Exec? My dealer reckons it's gonna save me a the cost of a night out if I remove said wheel myself and simply take him the wheel. I've taken a look and it doesn't look too daunting a task, and I do have a bock full of tools. Any advice greatly accepted guys. Cheers. Tony.

Just a note to let anyone who wants to save money with an aftermarket seat support piston for the 2008 400, know that the PM 1042 supplied by Lift Support Depot.com isn't an exact interchange. I just finished installing mine, and had to file down the shoulders on the two screw on end connector terminals because the distance from the center of the holes to the shoulder isn't the same as that of the factory piston. The result is that if you try to force the shoulder bolt through the hole, you will end up stripping threads either on it, or the weldnut attachment point on the frame. The seat end isn't much better as there also isn't enough clearance to allow the end to pivot on the attachment pin.
I have advised Lift Support Depot.com of the problem and they asked that I send them one of the factory end terminals so that they can supply the correct part. And yes, I did make the switch without removing tupperware.

Hey all ya all ;

For the last week I have been having trouble answering e mails or getting logged on to the other Burgman forum.
Just wondered if the admin people here are in touch with the admin people over there and can maybe fix the problem.

I receive messages , but when I try to answer , I get re-directed to a place that tells me to log on with my name and pass word. I do that but then it says I have used the wrong pass word. I tried to get back in by asking for them to send me my correct password or a new one but never got a response.

I read the other day that others were having similar problems with that forum.

All I can say is WTF

As I wrote in another thread, I did take the ride to the North Cascades Highway, Hwy 20, yesterday. The weather seemed a little dicey. Another small front was moving through and while it meant rain showers in the lowlands, a good portion of the trip was showing snow on the Weather Underground's Trip Planner. The snow level was forecasted for 6000 feet and I'd be up at 5500 in places. Close enough to be thinking about while planning the ride.

As it turned out, the weather held up for us pretty well till we were back below 500 feet. I say "us" because I have a friend at church, Doug, who is always game for a good ride.

We headed out after Men's Discipleship group meeting, which put us later than I had originally planned...but since I'd mowed the lawn Friday evening when it was dry, the afternoon wasn't "booked" by the yard care. ;) The route we took was up I-5 till we hit Arlington and Hwy 530. Hwy 530 runs through some delightful farmland, nestled amongst the Cascade foothills. It goes from flat valleys that were probably scraped out by glaciers to steep hillsides.

If you look above the farmhouse, you can see a "tiny" waterfall...which is really quite large if you were to get closer to it.

At Rockport, we turned east onto Hwy 2. When you go up this way, be sure to notice Newhalem. It's unique as one of the few "company" towns you'll ever see and is owned by Seattle City Light.

I've tried twice, with two separate reusable K&N's and neither one worked.

I recently bought a black Burgman 400 and shortly afterwards, I was happy to spot a black genuine Suzuki top box for sale on eBay.

The problem came when I tried to fit it. My bike is a ZA model which comes as standard with a sissy bar, which I assume has to be removed to fit the top box, but I can't for the life of me work out how to remove it!

I've attached some pictures, so if anyone can help me to work out how to remove the sissy bar and fit the top box, I'd be eternally grateful!
