Time it is a precious thing, and time brings all things to an end. Time is passing so they say, so you had better get right this time, because there won't be no next time. How much time do we have left? Now the Government is talking of turning back time and going back to burning fossil fuels to generate the power stations. What is going on? Here we are trying to increase the use of renewable energy, trying to harness the power of nature to help us advance the way in we which we use this power, and the Government is talking of going backwards in time. This is the 21st century NOT the 19th. Work with nature to promote the future not against it - why do you want to poison the very air we ALL breath? Where does the good lie in pumping millions of tons of carbon monoxide into the atmosphere? Think of the future - think of the children, STAND UP for what you believe in before it is too late! There is only ONE EARTH use it wisely. Because we die TIME IS PRECIOUS!
I read the news today oh boy! 4,000 holes in the ozone layer, and though the holes are rather small they had to count them all, now we know how many holes it takes to fill the Albert Hall - I'd love to turn you on... to Sven Radio.

Woke up, fell outta bed, dragged a combed across my head. Found my way downstairs and drank a cup and looking up, I noticed I was late. Found my coat and grabbed my hat, made the bus in seconds flat. Found my way upstairs and had a smoke, and somebody spoke and I went into a dream ... that all governments had come together to dispense with the burning of fossil fuels, that they were seeking ways to stop polluting the world. That all energy used would be renewable. Common sense prevailed, ways were sought to stop man-made global warming ... and to work with nature instead of against it.

The World's climate is changing too rapidly and the natural state too slowly - they are drifting apart and soon it will not be possible to bring them back together. Famine, drought, floods are on the increase. The ice-caps are melting rapidly, rain forests are being ripped down at an alarming rate. Cyclones, tornadoes, and gales are increasing in ferocity, sea water levels and acidity are rising. The list is endless.

At Sven we say - "I read the news today oh boy, about a lucky man who made the grade ..."
Clouds do have an enormous effect on the climate. The energy that drives life on earth arrives as sunlight. To remain at a steady temperature, the earth has to return the energy it receives back to space, primarily as heat. Clouds alter the energy flow in both directions.

On balance, clouds cool the earth. Dense, low-lying clouds are responsible for most of that effect, because they reflect sunlight back to space. Many high, thin clouds have the opposite influence, allowing incoming sunshine to pass through but effectively trapping heat that is trying to escape.

Humans are perturbing the earth's heat balance by releasing greenhouse gases, which block heat trying to escape. The most elaborate computer programs have agreed on a broad conclusion: clouds are not likely to change enough to offset the bulk of the human-caused warming. Some predict that clouds could actually amplify the warming trend sharply through several mechanisms, including a reduction of some of the low clouds that reflect a lot of sunlight back to space.

So why does a certain Doctor Lindzen, who appears regularly at the Heartlands Institute, the primary American organisation pushing climate change scepticism, refute this evidence? His theory goes along the lines of the following. Lindzen has said that when surface temperature increases, the columns of moist air rising in the tropics will rain out more of their moisture, leaving less available to be thrown off as ice, which forms the thin, high clouds known as cirrus. Just like greenhouse gases, cirrus clouds act to reduce the cooling of the earth, and a decrease of them would counteract the increase of greenhouse gases. Lindzen calls this the iris effect, after the iris of the eye, which opens at night to let in more light. The earth's "iris" of high clouds would be opening to let more heat escape.

Many of his colleagues in the M.I.T. atmospheric sciences department are critical of his stance. Most of his data they say is flawed and his theory makes assumptions that are inconsistant with known facts. Yet, he still insists that other scientists are determined to suppress his views because he shows dissent to the known science.

We at Sven Radio are simply astounded that a person like this is believed. What on earth does this man think he is doing? It's as plain as the nose on your face, that this damn fool is supported by foundations in whose interests it is to promte the so-called "myth" of global warming. Ultimately it will become obvious how clouds are reacting, but that could take decades, by which point it would be too late, and by then the atmosphere would contain so much carbon dioxide as to make substantial warming inevitable, and the gas would not return to normal for thousands of years!
Here at Sven Radio we are teaming up with 350.Org along with many hundreds of thousands of other people around the World, to Join The Dots! This is an event to bring to the forefront the many problems facing the populations of the many continents and Islands that are under threat from man-made Global warming. This is a very serious issue and action must be taken by all governments to seek the use of renewable energy, and stop burning fossil fuels. But this is only one step in the right direction. All matters must be considered to bring about change. Our world is being ripped apart, and corporate greed must be curbed. So let your voice be heard! Give support to the many worthwhile causes and join the people trying to save our Earth, and to hell with the cynics and the selfish!
Turn the lights down low. Close your eyes and lower the tension. In some corner of your mind the faint tunes of Sven waft gently around. Listen, all is safe. Stay warm and loved

Touch the void.

Tomorrow we shall go walking out into the English countryside and touch beauty. We shall watch the clouds and the flowers dance. The antiquity of healing nature is for all. Take the gift and treasure it - breathe slowly in and breathe slowly out. Deeply relax and seek harmony - let go - one flower - one snowflake.
On Tuesday April 17th Sven Radio will be going off air at 8pm British Summer Time and reopening on Wednesday April 25th at 6am BST. - Everything is subject to the wondrous abilities of British Telecom and whether they can get it right. What this means in real terms is that we are in the hands of the Gods and Barry, and whether he can remember to pull one plug out, and plug the correct one back in. (Barry bows and touches forelock in acknowledgement)

We wish all our fab listeners the very best for now and always, and hope to see you all back with us on that fateful morning with the marking of the dawn, and a new era of Sven Radio sounds swirling around the planet. So all that's left to do is get organised and put our lives in boxes - Goodbye for now and don't forget that here at Sven we are always thinking of you - Kind Regards - The Gang of Five.

Here are some pictures of our new home at Rye in Sussex - see you in paradise - Peace Sven
Sometimes I just feel there is a great beauty in sadness. It is what Billy Holiday does, she gets to the emotion of each song she sings. We have many beautiful collections here at Sven Radio. Music that describes the shimmering horizons, love songs from the mountains, the whispering winds of the deserts, music locked deep in dreams, shadow-lands, horses with wings, magical gardens, journeys to the edge of the earth - it is all here in the blue water moon walks. Love Sven
Sven Radio will be two years old on May 1st by which time we will have moved to Rye in Sussex. We are looking forward to broadcasting from our new premises in this ancient sea port. Here in Lewes we have fed the small birds in our garden all the time we have been here, and the great sadness is that once we leave, there will be no one around to carry on feeding them. The only consolation we have is that it is approaching summer, and some of the foods they live on should be available. This of course is not entirely true, because in this part of the world there are intensive farming practises that are used, which strip out the hedgerows where the small birds feed and to a certain extent breed, and then spray the land with pesticides. This is a contributory factor as to why so many populations of small birds are suffering, and why so many are under threat. Added to all of this now we have a major drought on our hands with many streams and rivulets drying up, which means in turn that water insects and bugs are also dying, thus taking away a further source of food. Nobody seems to be acknowledging the seriousness of the situation, idiots are still hosing their lawns and washing their cars, and wasting thousands and thousands of gallons of good drinking water in the process.

I just feel the birds will die, mainly because they have become reliant upon the seed we give them. So our move is tinged to a degree with one of sadness at this loss. I watered and fed them again this morning. I look at them buzzing around in the sunshine and realise that in under two weeks thier hunger will begin, and there's nothing I can do.
What peace the lake brings. The hot, gold, sun, already looks drowsy in the blueness of the morning. The concerns Sven Radio holds for the World seems to have slunk into a corner and fallen asleep. Old friends seem to be all around; a skylark is floating and climbing steep above me. The ground mist sprawls in the bottom of the valley. I stand at the gate breathing in the silence of the forest. The old periods of dark agony have gone forever. The black despair has given way to calm acceptance. I listen to the ripples splashing on the edges of the lake. Time is precious, and time brings all things to my mind. I have visions of things that have been - the room where our son was born; a morning like this when we together walked before breakfast by a stream, with hands full of bluebells... Sven
Here at Sven Radio we are getting ready for our move to sunnier climes. Yes, on April 18th we will be packing up Sven Radio for about three to four days and reopening in the land of Rye in Sussex. Rye is beautiful, and from time to time, Sven's ventures into the surrounding coastal areas will be posted on this site to show you the huge leaps for mankind that Sven Radio is making. But before all of the sun, sand, sea, and frolics, we are making a request, and that is that we should all send out good vibrations and beg for rain. We are suffering the greatest lack of rain that this part of the country's ever suffered since records began. Water levels are very low. Reservoirs, rivers, and streams are drying up.The disruption to the breeding cycles of all wildlife is horrendous. Fish, amphibians, crops, small mammals, and birds are dying in droves, and still no rain. At Sven we shall pray to all the Deities that it rains for forty days and forty nights. (OK we'll accept two weeks) So treat your water carefully, it is the most precious thing in the entire world. Love and Peace from Mr Sven
I would just like to wish you all a wonderful morning. Here in Sven Land the day is just beginning - it will be dawn in twenty minutes, and already the sky is starting to get lighter. The peacefulness at this time of the day leads me into meditation.

Sit quietly with your eyes closed. Place the back of your hands on your knees, and touch the index finger and thumb together. Breathe gently. Clear your mind, and rest a while.

Beyond all, health, wealth, and wisdom.

Lay still, and learn. Lay still. Time is endless.
It is important that at every turn we combat climate change deniers. We do not wish to be hard-hitting. Our argument at Sven Radio is that the evidence is there for all to see. Indulging ourselves in a Climate War with the deniers of man-made climate change is a little like Nero playing the fiddle, whilst Rome burned. So beware of disinformation. Take note of the privately funded groups that include Koch Industries, Scaife Foundations and bore names such as the Cato Institute, Americans for Prosperity and the Heartland Institute. It is groups like these that are blocking progress. Sven Radio opposes all of these parties, we are not afraid, and we will stand in the highest courts in the land and be judged, because right is on our side. We are fed up of the acid rain on our heads. We are fed up of the pollution to our rivers, oceans and seas, by industrial waste. We are sick to death of the air we all breathe being contaminated by burning fossil fuels. We are seething at the destruction of the rain forests. The fact is that the planet is getting hotter and unless something is done soon we shall all perish. Remember there is not much time left ...
We at Sven Radio would like to dedicate all of our music this week to those wonderful people who watch the oceans. It is important to keep the oceans clean. They are the very means of our survival on Earth. They cover 70% of the planet and contain roughly 97% of our water supply. The oceans of Earth serve many functions, especially
affecting the weather and temperature. They moderate the Earth's
temperature by absorbing incoming solar radiation (stored as heat
energy). The always-moving ocean currents distribute this heat energy
around the globe. This heats the land and air during winter and cools
it during summer. The world ocean is integral to all known life, forms part of the carbon cycle, and influences climate and weather patterns. However, much of the ocean's depths remain unexplored and it is estimated that over 2 million marine species may exist that we know nothing about. So it is with little wonder that all of us should be vigilant. The pollution levels must be monitored, people must be made aware of the great beauty and depth of our magnificent oceans, and how enormously important they are to the human species. Stop oil exploration in the oceans you damn fools!
The world is in a constant state of flux. Hardly a day passes without any given situation changing. It is not possible to keep abreast of what works musically - even in Sven Land we are constantly seeking the evasive answer to "What will capture our listeners, so that they will stay with us forever?" Playing music that is listened to around the world is a far cry from a local station doing the breakfast show. Looking at our map that pinpoints where our listeners are, we have for example this morning, someone in Israel, Italy, Shanghai-China, Sofia-Bulgaria, Sunnyvale-California, Tokyo-Japan, and Sydney-Australia tuned in. So you see it is not without thought that at Sven Radio we chose our selections carefully. It is truly a mixture of many instruments and compositions where East meets West on a musical level, bringing peace, love, and meditation.

We would also like to wish Professor Roland, from Sven Radio, all the very best. He at this time is carefully travelling around the world. This will take him to many places in his six months abroad, and all of us at Sven who have to stay behind, are insanely jealous. Good luck dear Professor and salutations, enjoy the beauty that is Earth.
The New Age movement is a Western Spiritual
movement that developed in the second half of the 20th century. Its
central precepts have been described as drawing on both Eastern and
Western spiritual and metaphysical traditions and then infusing them with influences from self-help and motivational psychology, holistic health, parapsychology, consciousness research and quantum physics. It aims to create a spirituality without borders or confining dogmas that is inclusive and pluralistic. Another of its primary traits is holding to a holistic worldview, thereby emphasising that the Mind, Body and Spirit are interrelated and that there is a form of Monism and unity throughout the universe. Let these be guide stones to the age of reason, when logic and truth will take care of us.

It is important to us at Sven Radio that we contribute to the thinking that the mind, body and indeed the spirit, are interrelated. We do this through the selection of our music, which is here to help our listeners achieve their peace of mind and also their feeling of well being. Peace and Love Sven x
At Sven Radio we love Jack Kerouac, and The Motor Cycle Diaries of Che Guevara - we love movement out into the free world - the beauty of the Rockies, Big Sur Mountain, the Alpine regions, all come cascading into thought. We are our own god. We are here to unlearn the teachings of the church, state, and our educational system. We are here to drink beer. We are here to kill war. We are here to laugh and dance at the odds and live our lives so well that Death will tremble to take us. So chill out people, take the stress out of your daily lives. Tune in, turn on, and massage the blues away. Peace and Love Sven
And on the hill we found the chapel - broken yet, full of light as if in celebration. Here lies the remains of what used to be so many years ago - a place of worship and more importantly of love. So please enter and relax - take the stress out of your day - listen and you shall find Sven Radio..
Where Sven Radio lives it is not an heavy industrial area. We have the Sussex Downs, with mile upon mile of rolling countryside, and we are also by the sea. So imagine our shock, and disgust, when the American oil company Cuadrilla turned up with a view to drilling a test well in the west of our county! Fracking is a terrible practise. The technique involves forcing thousands of gallons of chemical solution under high pressure into rocks to release oil or gas, which in turn pollutes groundwater, adds to greenhouse gas pollution and destroys local ecosystems. Despite polluting various parts of the USA already in what is a growing industry, its also been claimed that the chemicals used have been linked to bone, liver and breast cancers and disorders of the nervous system, radium in waste products, and methane in drinking water.

For crying out loud Mr Paul Kelly you can tell your bosses at Cuadrilla to take their damn Fracking and leave our beautiful county alone!!!
Sven Radio would like to pay tribute to the crews of the Sea Shepherd expedition who are, as we speak, on the high seas in the Antarctic Ocean harassing the Japanese whaling fleets. The fleets have gone there ostensibly to carry out "scientific" experiments on the whales - unfortunately for the whales this results in many of them being killed and their carcases sold on the Japanese mainland to feed their "starving" millions. Sven believes that whaling must be banned indefinitely, and that these beautiful creatures should be allowed to live and breed in peace. Stop the killing support the activists!
Please sit a while and watch the sun rising. Feel energy and the love of being - you are here when so many others are not. Rejoice in life, kiss often, and hug even more. Live for this moment - be pleased with yourself and remember the pubs open shortly - much love from the Sven - Bring on the New Year - we go from strength to strength, nothing can stop us other than doubt itself, and we have none.
I dreamed of snow last night, and in my dream it was dancing. Like a slow waltz the snow fell on the garden, but above the distant hills and trees it was scurrying across the heavens, like a break-dancer. I miss the snow this year. There is none about; just the dull, cold, rain and occasional sleet that covers the valley in mist. No robins with their red breast against the white backdrop. No snowmen - no noises muffled by the snow blankets - just fine, skirmishing rain, that drifts like ghosts on Halloween among the tall trees in the park. Where is the winter of my discontent? How can I praise the glorious sun when all seasons are the same? The changing climate is killing not only nature, but the imagination as well - it is becoming dull, like the ditch-water on the roadside - please bring the crisp, white, snow, so that I may dream again.
I am pleased with this year's developments - we have come a long way since last December. Already we are planning for the coming year. We shall spread the word that online radio should remain free, and that that is the way forward. I am certain it will be soon available in all vehicles - imagine at your finger tips the gateway to being able to listen to the many online radio stations, whilst driving out to the mountains.
The peaceful sky is kissing the silent Earth - good morning Christmas Day.
