So I had these bamboo handles lying around so I thought why not use them already! I thought of making a beach bag since summer is on it's way. I used a ikat printed burlap fabric & linen for a lining. It took longer than usual to make this due to everyday other activities. However, it's finally done!! Below shows some of the process as well as the finished product.

Sorry for being on a 3 month hiatus. Things happen & you get carried away. Anyways, I recently went to Florida to attend my cousins wedding. Let's just say that the wedding was amazing. Her dress was beautiful! I made my dress to go to her wedding. Below are some photos:

I know I haven't been on here for awhile…I have been busy working like crazy!! I can't wait when things calm down & I will have time for myself. This outfit I wore yesterday to work {I wore boots instead of wedges ;)} I am wearing an ombré sweater, a fur vest, and leggings with leather trim.

I kept my make-up simple: Covergirl Eyelights mascara & Marc Jacobs lip lacquer in Truth or Dare. In the pictures, it looks like Marc Jacobs Boom Boom (which i also have).

Something Out Of This World…..

I participated in a show called "Something Out Of This World", which was held this past Sunday at The Lantana. The show consisted of fashion, music, and hair. Of course I was part of the fashion ;-). I won't go into EVERY detail of the show but I did have three out of four of my garments in the show. And my infamous piece, the Persian Princess deep-v dress, opened up one of the fashion segments. I was able to show the Wild Beauty jumpsuit as well. I made two other dresses for the show: one of them was the dress version of the jumpsuit and the other was another deep-v dress with chain links. Sadly the dress with the links did not get put in the show but the other three did. Overall I can say that this was an experience; you live and you learn! Below are pictures from the show, enjoy!

Finally home after a LONG day.

So I started a new job that is closer to home than my old one. (my previous job, Everything But Water, will still have a place in my heart.) I have been at this new job for about 4 weeks now and it is still something getting used to. Being new to the job i decided to buy myself this fur vest. I paired it with a black sheer printed top and black pants. I wore it to work on Friday....one of those long days i was hoping to be over. You can see my happiness to be home.

Pre-Boston Fashion Week Event: Style It Up presents: Sew Together Networking Event

Now that I have graduated from college and actually have time, I decided to go to some Boston fashion Week events. For those of you who don't know, YES, Boston has a Fashion Week!! I went to a networking event before the official fashion week started and I had so much fun. The event was catered by the restaurant it was held in: Vlora. They had guest speaker Rosanna, president & founder of StyleWeek, as well as other speakers. I met a lot of wonderful people who own their own magazine and agency, designer representatives, as well as other designers. It was such a great event!

AMAZING! SLEEK! SEXY! BODY CONSCIOUS! All these words describe the spring 2014 collection from Cushnie et Ochs. The pieces will hit a woman's curves all in the right places! The colors that the designer duos used were white, grey, violet, beige, and the classic black. This collection is another one of my favorites! Would you wear any of these pieces?

New York Fashion Week: Zimmermann Spring 2014 RTW

I wish I can have at least ONE piece if not all pieces from this collection. The colors used throughout the collection are silver, champagne, peach, black, white, and blush. Zimmermann had swimwear, jumpsuits, pants, skirts, and crop tops. I love how these pieces show off a woman's curves. Now, the question is....would you wear any of these pieces?

Peter Som's collection was a bit muted.....in terms of color! There was a lot of black, white, grey with a dash of orange and blue. Some of these pieces you can dress up & dress down. I REALLY REALLY really loved this collection!! It exuded freshness, crisp, and sleekness. Its just pure perfection. The colors used in the collection are red, white, black, blue, teal, and prints. So.....I am (slightly) obsessed with Zac Posen. Nothing wrong with that right? Anyways, his Spring 2014 collection was entailed with the colors black, white, yellow, orange, cobalt blue, and prints such as snake skin and florals. Im loving so many pieces from this collection like this crop top and black wide leg pants and a deep-v cream dress. I wish these clothes were in my closet already!! I love how vibrant yet chic this collection is. Josie Natori started off the show with pieces that are simple and chic and used colors like black, white, and cream. As the show continues you see a bright array of colors walk down the runway. I am a lover of colors so this stood out to me a lot! Natori used a lot of pinks, oranges, blues, and even a dash of gold appeared. Would you wear any of these pieces because I would.

Even though I did not watch the red carpet or the actual award show, I wanted to see what everyone was wearing. These have been my favorites so far:

Diem Brown looking sleek & chic in a white jumpsuit and a black belt.

Taylor Swift is doing a "1950s" look really well.

Ashanti is exposing skin in this jade color dress.

Naya Riviera in Sen Couture.

Ariana Grande is giving off flower power in this dress. I miss her red hair though, it would have popped well with this ensemble.

Coco Rocha is rockin' in this ensemble. I am really loving the leather jacket.

Alicia Quarles is showing off her curves in a matching crop top and skirt set. She kept it simple with nude heels and a nude clutch.

Coco Jones looks great in this dress and blazer. Very stylish!

I am loving this deep-v dress that Tanisha Long is wearing. The color is amazing. I just wish she did more with her hair.

Chilli is giving me life!!! All I see is late 90's early '00s (TLC era) with a modern twist. It is simple, sleek, and chic!

Holland Roden in Naeem Khan. This looks like an illustration that I did several days ago that was recently put on instagram...hmmmmm....weird. Anyway, I love this!! Simple with some extra ;o)

Desi Lydiz is serving face and looking beautiful!!

Rita Ora killed it in this Alexandre Vauthier!!!! What got me going bonkers is the train of this dress!! I love trains, especially if they are long.

Ciara & Future came to the VMA's hand in hand looking cute together. Ciara is wearing Givenchy...but this dress looks familiar...hmmm....I still love it though.

OOTD: Outfit Of The Day 08/12/13

Yesterday was fun! I was able to hang out with friends & we took an adventure to the fabric store Sew-fisticated. I had fun gathering inspiration from the fabric that I had seen. Wish I could have bought all!! Hopefully I get to make something soon with the fabric that I bought, but for right now it will be a secret ;).

The cardigan that I have on in this post is also seen in the other post below. There is something about this cardigan that I love! It is very comfortable and can be worn from day to night. the black dress that i had on was the first time I was wearing it. Not the greatest in terms of material but I still liked it. I did wear sandals on the adventure to the fabric store but I decided to switch it up for you guys!

OOTD: Outfit Of The Day 8/10/13

So today I decided to dress up on a wonderful sunny day!! I also went to the movies with my mom. We went to see 2 Guns starring Denzel Washington & Mark Wahlberg and it was good movie. After watching this movie, I have a new found respect for Mr. Wahlberg. You guys should go see it, especially if you love action movies!

Today was a very nice day! I wore a midi pencil skirt that I bought when I was in London (Oh the memories!!), a crochet tank (even though you cant see the crochet part), & a chiffon yoke cardigan. The shoes are from Brash. Hope everyone enjoyed their day as I did!

Fall 2013 Couture: Zuhair Murad

Zuhair Murad is another designer that I love!! His pieces always look amazing. The collection was filled with sequins, lace, appliqué, and beading. You will see a lot of nude, navy blue, black, oxblood red, olive green, and a grayish blue. These pieces showed off a lot of drapery, volume, and the curves of a woman. I would love to have these pieces in my closet.
