Lexus Turns a Car into Fashion

I saw this ad in Vogue a few weeks ago. I know I am a little slow on the subject (I am catching up lol) but I thought it was so cool! Lexus took one of their hybrid cars and turned them into fashion! Lexus called this project the Lexus Fashion Workshop. This takes sustainable fashion to a whole other level. Bracelets, sunglasses, shoes, and even a jacket were created all from parts of a car. Lancome Doll Lashes Mascara

The Vogue Influencer Network has been very good to me lately :) The best thing they have sent me in a while: Lancome Doll Lashes Mascara.

The brush is different than I am used to. I usually use mascara that has a huge puffy brush but this one was thin on one end and thick on the other. I was not sure if I would like this mascara because I did not think it make my lashes as big as I like them because the brush was smaller than normal for me. But boy was I wrong. This mascara made my lashes humungous in just one stroke! So imagine how amazing they look when I used a few coats. I would recommend this mascara to everyone who loves big lashes. MassArt Exhibt at the Burlington Mall

At work the other day I noticed a bunch of mannies upstairs on the second floor. Boston Fashion Week was over so I was curious about what pieces were being shown. Later that afternoon I journeyed upstairs to see the exhibit. The exhibit was created by design students from the Mass College of Art. It was called "Wearable Art". Most of the pieces were not made of fabric but were made with objects such as candy wrappers, cards, straws, rope, and even raffle tickets. I thought this was so cool and the perfect thing to share!

New COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara

Last week I received the new COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara in the mail from the Vogue Influencer Network. I do not normally use make up that you can buy in a drugstore because I feel as though they just don't work as well as the products I can buy in the MAC store or in Sephora. However, this was sent to me for free so I decided to give it a try.

Well, my initial thoughts were correct. Drugstore make up sucks :(. The very black color was nice and my eyelashes were very dark how I like them to be. However even with an eyelash curler my eyelashes did not get much length and absolutely not volume! The beeswax in the formula just clumped my lashes all together, not spread them out like it says. My eyelashes looked thin and brittle. I like my eyelashes to be super black, long, and unbelievably thick. All I got with the new COVERGIRL NatureLuxe Mousse Mascara was ugly black lashes. I was very disappointed by this mascara and will keep on using my $20 not drugstore mascaras.

Clarisonic Challenge

So according the the Vogue Influencer Network I have finished the Clarisonic challenge! During the past few weeks I have discovered so many great things about the Clarisonic Plus. First I tried all three of the cleansers: The Gentle Hydro Cleanser, The Nourishing Car Cleanser, and The Refreshing Gel Cleanser. I found that because I have oily skin the Refreshing Gel Cleanser worked the best for me. My skin felt clean and i felt less oily throughout the day when I used the gel cleanser. I also discovered the the body brush with the skin polish. It was great to use on my feet. I know that sounds crazy but its like giving yourself an at home pedicure scrub! It takes off all the dead skin and leaves the feet so soft! I love my Clarisonic and I could not thank the Vogue Influencer Network enough for such an amazing gift. Next on my list to try with my Clarisonic is the Deep Pore Cleansing Brush Head I ordered. I can't wait!

MOST AMAZING LIP STAIN

I was always a lipgloss girl, and then I discovered the awesome look of lipstick. However, whenever I wore lipstick even though the color looked great the color will seep off my lips, eventually crack, and leave my lips super dry. About a week ago I received the Fall 2011 Sephora catalog and being the makeup addict I am I fell in love with everything. But what caught my attention the most was all the red lip colors. I decided to try the new Sephora Collection Lip Stain in Always Red. I put the stain on in the morning. It was creamy and went on smoothly. The color was bright and shiny and looked fabulous. After I drank an iced coffee, ate some food, ate some more food, brushed my teeth, the color was still perfect on my lips! I am absolutely addicted to this lip stain that I went back and bought two more today in Classic Beige and Cute Pink (shown in picture... it is limited edition) :) I am in love.

Clarisonic Week ONE

About a week ago, The Vogue Influencer Network sent me a Clarisonic Plus to take the Clarisonic Skincare Challenge. With the Clarisonic came 3 trial cleansers, a skin polish, 2 brush heads, and the charger. In only a week I have seen softer and clearer skin. I can feel the Clarisonic really get deep down into my pores and clean out any dirt and makeup left on my skin. Using the Clarisonic also made my makeup stay on better. Because my skin is healthier it reacts better to the products I use like cream, primer, and makeup. So far I love my Clarisonic. I will keep you updated on Week Two but meanwhile here is a picture of my amazing gift from the Vogue Influencer Network :)

Alexander McQueen Exhibit NYC

This weekend I travelled to New York City to see the Alexander McQueen exhibit at the MET. After waiting a good two hours in line and watching NYC residents cut the line because they are able to be members at the MET I was finally able to enter the fantasy world McQueen had once created. The exhibit was dark and creepy with the lighting and music to put you in a mesmerized and somewhat scared mood. A perfect quote for the whole exhibit:

“There is no way back for me now. I am going to take you on journeys you’ve never dreamed possible.” -- Alexander McQueen.

Each piece McQueen designed was put on display with a story to make your heart pound. The wooden walls and floors were smashed with holes, there was a girl who you could watch drown on the ceiling above you, Kate Moss danced peacefully in a small box, and glass walls shattered only to reveal a naked model. Every mannequin had on gorgeous and crazy headwear covering their entire head and ridiculous shoes that I still not have figured out how models managed to walk in. After walking through each room captivated by each dress, cape, headpiece and shoe, I finally came to realize how twisted and talented McQueen truly was. Although creepy it is shame his creations will no longer come in the future.

"I want to be the purveyor of a certain silhouette or a way of cutting, so that when I'm dead and gone, people will know that the twenty-first century was started by Alexander McQueen." -- Alexander McQueen.

And that is exactly what happened... If you can go and see this exhibit before it ends August 7th, it is a must see for the fashion and art obsessed. I was not allowed to take any picture (though I was hoping so I could show all of you) but here are a few from the MET website.
