Gopi Geet, an epitome of devotion, is from Canto 10 Chapter 31 of Shrimad Bhagavatam. It has 19 Sloks. During Raas Leela, Gopis were beset by pride as they start to feel that the supreme Lord is engrossed in their love and beauty and that no one else is as lucky as them. To break their pride Lord Krishna disappears from the arena. Gopis in the intense pain of separation call Lord Krishna, which is known as the Gopi Geet. Listen to this beautiful narration by Swami Mukundananda.
In this episode of Bhagavad Gita, Chapter 12, Swami Mukundananda says that the devotee is satisfied in any situation. He says that since desires never satiates and knowing this devotee is always engage in devotion and does not worry about material prosperity or scarcity.

In this series, Swami Mukundananda reveals the original meanings of
the Bhagavad Gita Quotes, Shlokas [Chapter 12, Bhakti Yog, The Yog of
Devotion] with crystal clear explanations and perfect logic.

Shree
Krishna says in Bhagavad Gita to surrender all deeds to God. Humans
commit both-sinful and pious deed. Is Shree Krishna asking humans to
surrender even the sinful deeds? This question was once asked to
Jagagdguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj. Answering the question he said that
we need to offer pious actions to God not our sins otherwise people
will start committing sin and say "I am offering it to God so it is ok".
Thus, Swami Mukundananda in this episode says, "people should take
responsibility of their bad deeds."
If there is anything which God despise then it is the pride or ego. One must shed this pride to get God.

In this episode, Swami Mukundananda explains slok number 13 from
Bhagavad Gita chapter 12. Here Shree Krishna is telling Arjun about the
virtues of His devotees. Shree Krishna says that His devotee does not
hold any grudge or ill feeling towards anyone, keeps cordial and
merciful feeling towards all, gives away attachment and is without
pride.

There are three types of devotees:
1. Those who go to temple and worships the deities but holds ill feeling towards the devotees of God.
2.
Those who respect the devotees whom they feel are ahead of themselves;
befriends them whom they feel are equal and shows mercy towards those
whom they feel are below in devotion. Such devotees remain neutral
towards those who are not devotee or against their Guru.
3. Those who sees God in everybody. Such devotees are devoid of discrimination.

In chapter 12 of the Bhagavad Gita, Arjun asked Shree Krishna-which is
best path, Bhakti or Gyan? Shree Krishna answered him by declaring
Bhakti to be the best and simplest path to attain God. Swami
Mukundananda further takes the explanation ahead and says there are two
types of actions- mechanical and emotional. A 3-year old child doing
pranam to Swamiji when insisted by his parent is the example of the
mechanical action. The child doesn't know who is Swamiji, what does
doing pranam mean and why he needs to do it. He does it mechanically
because his parents have taught him to do so. This is not bad but not
enough. It will not free us from the bondage of birth and death. For
liberation and attainment of Divine love, we need to rise above the
mechanical-physical drill. Thus Shree Krishna says, Gyan is above such
physical devotion. Dhyan is above Gyan. Renouncing the fruit of action
is above Gyan and Dhyan.

Only God and Guru knows about the destiny of the soul. The
astrologers simply make a guess looking at the Panchang. Thus, Ayurveda
clearly states two kinds of illness- one that you get through your own
bad life-style and other that you inherit from your ancestors. The
second kind of ailment is the result of your own deed of previous lives.
Swami Mukundananda in this episode of Bhagavad Gita discourse explains
the science of Karma with a simple example of a man who, without
working, own a lottery and became a millionaire overnight. This
happened due to his previous deeds, he was destined to be rich. But,
now it is up to him to either double the money with wise investment or
to gamble it away. Thus Swamiji further says, "Whatever is written in
your destiny, will come to you automatically, you do not need to worry
of work for it. "

People say that I will do devotion whenever God wishes me to do so,
or when right time comes, or when my fate allows me, etc. All these
excuses are very harmful. Fate or destiny of this life is the result of
our action of previous lives. So if we keep on blaming fate for not
engaging in devotion, then we will never reach the goal of
God-realization. We need to start working for it in this life, result
of this endeavor will be presented to us in a form of destiny in next
birth.

Swami Mukundananda in this lecture of Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12 says,
"nothing in this world is achieved without practice. When we first
tried to walk, we fell down. After great effort and practice, we learnt
how to walk." Similarly in the beginning, it will be very difficult to
fix our mind on God for even 5 minutes, but with practice we will be
able to contemplate on God for longer period of time. Swamiji also
further says that as we progress in this path we will start getting the
Ras (bliss) of God from within, so we will be tempted to do more. This

The Bhagavad Gita or the Gita Saar is widely revered as one of the
greatest jewels of spiritual wisdom in the history of humankind. It
describes the divine dialogue that took place between the Supreme Lord
Shree Krishna and his devotee Arjun on the battle ground.
Controlling
mind is difficult but not impossible. There are many difficult things
in world which we face daily. We raise children, face the tantrums of
spouse and boss, sit for examinations, all these works are difficult but
we faced them all. So why do we need to be scared of difficulties that
occur on the path of spiritual enlightenment?
In this series, Swami Mukundananda reveals the original meanings of
the Bhagavad Gita Quotes, Shlokas [Chapter 12, Bhakti Yog, The Yog of
Devotion] with crystal clear explanations and perfect logic.

Swami
Mukundananda, while discussing the Chapter of 12 of Bhagavad Gita says,
"Repeated contemplation of the attainment of one's selfish motive is the
root cause of attachment. A person experiences happiness in getting and
sorrow in loosing somebody or something when that person sees his/her
selfish motive behind the person or the object."

Jagadguru Shankaracharya has asked all to contemplate upon the
shortcomings or the flaws of the world. The fact that there is no
happiness in this world needs to revised again and again in the mind to
bring detachment. Swamijis says, "We are not Arjun to become all
knowledgeable of Bhagavad Gita by listening to it once. We need to
listen to the philosophy repeatedly, contemplate on it and practice to
implement the knowledge of Gita in our day to day life."

Swami
Mukundananda further says that our intellect does not allow us to
confirm that there is no happiness in the world. How could we correct
this, so that it becomes easier for us to get detached from the world
and move ahead towards God? Swamiji gives 3 easy steps to see whether
there is happiness in the world or not. If there is happiness in the
world:
1. Then all should experience it.
2. It should be available eternally.
3. Then all should get it equally.
In this series, Swami Mukundananda reveals the original meanings of the
Bhagavad Gita Quotes, Shlokas [Chapter 12, Bhakti Yog, The Yog of
Devotion] with crystal clear explanations and perfect logic.

Intellect
controls mind and thus we all are able to maintain perfect discipline
in workplace, at home or anywhere we go or anything we do. Even a kid
knows how to control his mind with the help of intellect. No kid wants
to study, he will like to play all day. But when they sit for exam,
they control their mind and sit in a exam hall for 3 hours and pays full
attention to his answer sheet. "All of has the power to control our
mind, we do not utilize it," says Swami Mukundananda. He says that when
the intellect decides, the mind comes under control.

Swamiji
also discusses about the meaning of Gayatri Mantra in this lecture.
Gayatri Matra says, "The Lord who illuminates the 3 lokas, may He
illuminate my intellect with the Divine knowledge towards the righteous
path."

In the material world one notices external action whereas in the
spiritual world internal thoughts are noted. Worldly people will be
please if you behave well (from outside). But, doing sadhana externally
will not please God. "God do not want our body He wants our mind,"
says Swami Mukundananda in this lecture.

While discussing the
Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12, Swami Mukundananda quotes his spiritual
master-Jagadguru Shree Kripaluji Maharaj and says,

"बंधन अरु मोक्ष का कारण मन ही बखान राधे राधे | याते कौनियो भक्ति करु करु मन ते हरि ध्यान राधे राधे ||
is created due to darkness. Where there is light there is no illusion.
God is like that light and ignorance is like darkness. Where there is

so we run after bodily pleasure. But the fact is, we are not body but
soul inside the body. Soul will be happy only when we provide it God's
bliss.

Why does everybody in this world seek for happiness? Nobody taught us to
seek happiness, it came naturally. Why? To understand this, first we
need to understand definition of God as described by Vedas. Watch the
lecture by Swami Mukundananda on "Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12" to get the
answer.

In this episode, Swamiji picks the following sloka from Bhagavad Gita Chapter 12:

तेषामहं समुद्धर्ता मृत्युसंसारसागरात् |
भवामि नचिरात्पार्थ मय्यावेशितचेतसाम् ||
Everybody works. People might work with various aim, but they all work
to achieve that aim. Swami Mukundananda, in this episode while
discussing Chapter 12 of Bhagavad Gita, moves further and says,
"everybody in this world work with a purpose but there are some who work
without purpose too." Who are they? Watch the video to find out the
six kind of people we find in the world.
In this series, Swami Mukundananda reveals the original meanings of the
Bhagavad Gita Quotes, Shlokas [Chapter 12, Bhakti Yog, The Yog of
Devotion] with crystal clear explanations and perfect logic.

To
enter the Gyan marg without being eligible for the path is most
dangerous. Swami Mukundananda, in this episode, explains this point
with examples. He also says that Gyan marg is for those who are totally
detached from the world. Karm marg is for those who are attached to
the world and Bhakti marg is for those who are neither totally detached
nor extremely attached.
In this series, Swami Mukundananda reveals the original meanings of the
Bhagavad Gita Quotes, Shlokas [Chapter 12, Bhakti Yog, The Yog of
Devotion] with crystal clear explanations and perfect logic.

We
cannot cross the ocean of maya on our own. We need to surrender to God,
who is the master of maya, to get out of its grip. That is why Sri
Krishna says to Arjun in Gita that one can attain salvation only through
His grace.

In this episode, he covers the following line of Bhagavad Gita Ch-12

क्लेशोधिकतरस्तेषामव्यक्तासक्तचेतसाम् ||
अव्यक्ता हि गतिर्दु:खं देहवभ्दिरवाप्यते ||
In this series, Swami Mukundananda reveals the original meanings of the
Bhagavad Gita Quotes, Shlokas [Chapter 12, Bhakti Yog, The Yog of
Devotion] with crystal clear explanations and perfect logic.

Before
God-realization we cannot contemplate on the true form of God. Our
mind is under the influence of Maya, so whatever form of God we create
in our mind, is Mayic. But God, being all merciful and considerate,
accepts whatever form we have created as His true form. He looks at our
bhav not what we have created.

In this episode, he covers the following line of Bhagavad Gita Ch-12

सन्नियम्येन्द्रियग्रामं सर्वत्र समबुद्धय: |
ते प्रप्नुवन्ति मामेव सर्वभूतहिते रता: ||
