The following story is based on a true life encounter.

I have a confession to make today....

How could this have happened to me? My mind was blank as I stared at my monitor at my 64th cubicle. My boss sent a reminder today as well to remind me that today was the last day for Nov monthly report submission. Yesterday I had the same reminder as well, but my colleagues and I daringly ignored the reminder. Needless to say, I felt guilty for the rest of the day. Hence, today I’m determined to hand in my report on time. But to my dismay, no matter how hard I tried, I just don’t know what to write. There were too many things that happened in the past days and I just don’t know where to start! The clock continues ticking. Glancing at my watch, I saw that it was already 12:20pm. 3 hour to go till deadline.

How did I end up in this situation?

I glanced at my watch for the second time. Its 12.45pm already. Actually I had to take my first Team lunch, that too it was in 4 star hotel near to ITPL, that made thing worse. I need to complete this stuff and also be ready for lunch, which I don’t need to miss out .Heck, I’ve wasted another 15 minutes doing nothing. Without further delay I boost my determination with a cup of coffee day regular 3 in 1 coffee and started on my report. Firstly I browsed through all my mails ( the most important task for the day ) that help me a lot ,for the past 4 weeks and jot down all the key items that I would like to include in my report. Next I broke down the list into 3 major categories – General, Highlights and Lowlights. Then, I wrote short descriptions for each of the items. For those items that took to much hassle to explain, Thank you Justin(he is my frind ,just a feet apart from my Cubile. he send a sample of his report)! I guiltily deleted them from the list. After much sweat and effort, I finally finished the report and hit the send button at 5.30pm sharp! Hooray! Mission accomplished.

I have to admit, although I managed to hand in the report on time; I’m not too satisfied about the report. It was by far the worst report I ever wrote in my entire life. I need to polish my writing skills and invest more time on next month’s report. ALL the best swaroop

Can Google Chrome build an ecosystem?

Google Chrome has already jumped some tough hurdles.

It faced its first security alerts, two bugs which taught users what the wrench in the corner of the screen is for. (It gets you updates.)

It has faced the first blush of backlash, with snarky charges of its being over-hyped, the expected stories of a threat to privacy, and a threat by Microsoft to put the anti-trust shoe on the other foot.

What it has yet to do is build an ecosystem.

One of the great strengths of Firefox is its ecosystem of add-ons. I miss my tool bars (especially the Google one) when using Chrome.

An ecosystem offers many advantages. But it also has disadvantages. Add-ons written by others can slow down your product, introduce security risks, and make you responsible for things you did not do.

I use Firefox for commerce because I keep my passwords in an add-on. I use Explorer to write posts here because Chrome does not yet support the Wordpress visual editor.

There are indications that Google “gets it.”

Google has extended its deal with Mozilla, so rumors of its death (or that of its ecosystem) are greatly exaggerated.

It’s also possible Google may go another route in building an ecosystem. SaaS vendors which create Web applications are thrilled with Chrome, and since many have working business models they might help Google build profits into Chrome fast.

The problem is that an ecosystem requires a vendor to scale-up in areas where Google has long been reluctant to scale-up.

Google’s real secret sauce is that it scales technology, not people. This is a variant on the old soccer saying that the ball is the fastest thing on the field. The computer is the ball.

But to build an ecosystem you need people who will meet with other people. Lots of people. People who need people and are, in many ways, the luckiest people in the world.

Mozilla has such people. Microsoft has such people. Does Google have enough of them, or a willingness to bring them in and respect them, as it respeccts technologists?

Inspiron 1525 the Count Down Starts

This is being a very long ride for me . I never thought that i would be oweing a laptop.

It all started when i left banglore and went to my home for my Final Year Exams Results. Things was bit tough for me as i was totally under presurres for getting placement .

Well let me start my story.It was on july 11 when i told about the laptop to my father and i had no idea how he is going to respond that.BUT .....he told me why don't you check yourself,that really made me to think.WOW..great so far so good.. I went to my Pc and checked all that i need to have in my pc.

Then i opted for dell Inspiron 1525 which satisfyed all my needs and it also had nice service and ssupport which i did't get where else. I called the customer care of DELL The toll free number is 1800 425 4001 and a lady atted and i told whaat i need then she tranferd my call to the sales account manger.MR Sunil Karthik ,he was really a very nice person who helped me with all the queries that i had about the DEll.And i placed the th configuration and he was quick enough to send me the qutation for that.

Ubuntu 11.0( hardy herion)

This is my first installation of Linux distro ,without anybody's help.My earlier distro was OPENSUSE (mini Me) that i had. i alloted a wooping 10 GB for ext3 and 1GB for swap partition.But latter made it to 5GB for EXT3 and 1 gb for swap .the installation was so smooth that i had no problem in configuring my network or my disk.The partition can be also be made automatically but i thought i will do manually.
later it showed all the partition which was allotted in my system and i ahave already alloted 5gb for ext and 1gb for swap.so first i choose the ext3 option and alloted 5gb and for swap 1 gb.and it formated.
latter time configuration and keyboard layout that i am using i also made that change also.Everything smooth.It configured my network automatically(amazing)and my printer.all was configured without any wizards or steps as i see in windows.
So the installation was soo smooth without any problems,and all the software which it as was already outdated so the first thing i need to do is that i need to update. so to do this i just typed symati update manager. and again a surprise it automatically installed the latest version of the software ..and it installed 245 software. so the next day when i gone through the UBUNTU.i did't find any compiz fustion software and i was need of it so i thought i need to install the compizi fustion

VIRUS (alpha post)

This virus i s from our very own NIIT center residency road.AS i was inserting the usb it installed some software and made the system to reboot.But i did't care much about the virus as i thought i could use LINUX to to remove it .
BUT...star age thing hapen.it is not allowing to mount the USB.And justin also did his best to get that thing to remove..but i t is not allowing it and it says acess dened.

Insert your USB pen drive. Let it get detected and mounted. Open Terminal. Type The Following commands 1. dmesg |tail –> here the ‘|’ key is the pipe, ie, the key before the backspace key(the upper one, so press shift) You’ll get something like

Remove and insert the pen drive to have mounted again!

I have my problems with Sujay, but I have to say there's one thing you
can't fault the man for: sheer physical courage( hope fully ..sujay).

This is a man who had his first flirt in my college ,and talking about him he is my dearest friend ...thnks u dude for helping me in todays EDP.Without you i have no idea how will i be writing the "problems faced by small business"...guys this was the last question in the question paper....which carrys a wooping 20 marks ..and i am telling you frankly that i have asked him the answer.

Booting from the install CD..ubuntu

In order to install Ubuntu, you must start your computer using the installation CD. While most computers will start from the installation CD if you simply insert the CD and then restart the computer, some computers may require additional steps to allow this.

If your computer does not start from the installation CD if you insert it and then restart the computer, use the following steps:

Restart your computer with the CD still inserted in the drive
When the computer restarts, look very carefully at the initial screen it shows. Look for an option such as <F10> Boot Order or Press DEL to enter setup and press the key which is noted (e.g. the Delete key). There are many different variations, so please see your computer manual if you are unsure which button you need to press.
Find the options relating to Boot Order, Boot Sequence or similar. Ensure that your CD drive is first in the boot order by following the instructions on-screen.
Once satisfied that your CD is first in the boot order, save your changes and restart the computer. It should now start from the Ubuntu installation CD.

If you are still unable to boot from CD, please seek support from one of the Ubuntu support channels.

If it has booted from the CD successfully, Ubuntu will load. This may take a while, as a cut-down copy of Ubuntu must be started from the CD.

Entering basic information

Once the Ubuntu installation CD has booted successfully, you will be presented with a desktop, with an icon labelled Install. Double-click this icon to start the Ubuntu installer. Then, follow the instructions below:

Select your language from the list provided and then press Forward.
Select a city from your country and timezone by either clicking the map or selecting a city from the drop-down menu labelled Selected city. Press Set Time... if the time is set incorrectly. Once you are satisfied that the time is correct for your location, press Forward.
Select your keyboard layout from the list provided. You can type in the box provided to test that your keyboard is working correctly. Press Forward once you are satisfied that you have chosen the correct keyboard layout.

Enter the details requested. Pay particular attention to the password section - by choosing a more complicated password, you can help to make your computer more secure. You must also ensure that you can remember your password correctly, including the case of the letters you use ('ABC' is different to 'abc'). Once satisfied that all of the information you entered is correct, press Forward.


	When choosing a password, try to use a combination of letters, numbers and punctuation symbols which spell out a random word (e.g. p0tato!). This will make your password harder to guess if someone tries to access your computer without your permission.

The Prepare disk space screen will load. This will allow you to partition your hard disk. Partitioning is covered in the next section, Partitioning your disks.

Flock Browser - The Social Web Browser

I've heard about Flock from Justin and I've been thinking of downloading it. Now ever since my IE has started behaving weird , I decided that its high time i download this one of a kind browser.

Firefox is the main competitor to IE, particularly in Europe where it has a 28% market share, according to some statistics.
The open source browser's development iscoordinated by the Mozilla foundation, set up by Netscape staff made redundant in 2003. It has had more than 500 million downloads worldwide and in countries such as Finland it is the most popular browser.
'Competition is what brings quality," said Ms Baker.

Flock describes itself as "the social web
browser" and allows people to see feeds from community websites, such
as Flickr and Facebook, and post to blogs without having to navigate to
the page.

"There are lots of ways that people are

engaging in having a conversation and Flock is very focused on making
that as effortless and convenient as possible," said Mr Hardin.

However, not all Netscape users are happy about having to change browser.
"I'm sad. Flock still needs improvement

and I am not happy with Firefox's interface. I'm [an] orphan!" read one
post on the Netscape blog.

Others who posted comments on the blog predicted the browser will make a return.

"Netscape is a wonderful browser, and it will be so in the future," read one.

Well it was two days back i finally got my Linux installed in my pc.i don't know how long i was waiting for this great installation to take place.It was on Monday(20 AUG) at around 8:45pm,while returning home from my tuition, i saw a white packet on my table ,which i order from Ubuntu through Shipit.
it was a great felling at that time ,i don't know how to mention.

With the number of malicious Web pages mushrooming over the past several months, the Mozilla Foundation is looking to help users defend themselves. Window Snyder, who is Mozilla's "chief security something-or-other," says the company is taking a two-pronged approach.

Mozilla programmers are rewriting a lot of the Firefox code for the upcoming version release, Snyder says. They're replacing much of the older code to increase performance and make the code base more modular, able to handle new security threats like phishing. In a previous interview, Snyder said some of the browser's components that are written in native code are being rewritten in managed code to reduce memory management flaws, like buffer overflow vulnerabilities. Managed code executes in a virtual machine, so there's less space for memory management problems.

HATE MOZILLA BUT USE IE OR ELSE…”

Yesterday, my friend Shyam was having a very dificult time ,in accessing ORKUT AND YOUTUBE. And he told me to help him!.....so i thought i should help him to remove the infection from his PC.(even thou i was not so sure about it...that i could make it!) i went to his home along with Vishnu ,after finishing the horrible test in our tuition class.
even though he scanned his computer with the AVG7.5,it didn't showed any infection..... Hmm strange..
i right clicked and opened the USB drive and found there was no content. Autoplay appears only if there is a Autorun.inf file present in the root of the drive.

He wanted to check his scrap so he ran my beloved browser Firefox, it opened and with in couple of seconds a message box popped up which said ” “I DNT HATE MOZILLA BUT USE IE OR ELSE…” and the header read “USE INTERNET EXPLORER YOU DOPE.” I was like what? It also terminated Firefox :-( . This is when I remembered the Autoplay option in the usb drive. This is when I had to open Internet Explorer and Google this text and found the worm name is w32.USBWorm (it was now obvious). shhhhhhhh....... Nor I could find any information on how to remove it. I decided to give myself a try to remove this worm.

I tried opening orkut and Bang another surprise. This is the message it popped up ” ORKUT IS BANNED,Orkut is banned you fool`,The administrators didnt write this program guess who did?? ” now this is pissing me off. Now, i had no other option but to remove this worm from his system. I pressed ctrl+alt+del and found nothing suspesious there .

Lets see what this worm does

It runs a exe file which is name MicrosoftPowerpoint.exe which is located in the USB disk. The autorun.inf runs this file when double clicked.(shyam.... you don't need to do this unless you completely format ur usb) Once this program is run you are infected. It hides all your hidden folders, runs the process in the memory, makes the worm to start with windows and pops those annoying messages. This worm doesn’t destroy any system files. It just infects other USB drives and spreads to new hosts.(this information is from the google )

It’s time to KO the Worm

I went through all the process and found out that svchost.exe was the one responsible for it. Where taskmanger helped me a lot...., svchost.exe was running from a location C:\heap41a . So this is where the worm resides, hmm interesting now deleting the folder would do our task. But it was not so easy, as I terminated this process svchost.exe from the process list it would start again.
Now I searched the folder C:\heap41b but it was hidden.

I went to Tools>folder option and select Show all files and folders and pressed ok. I refreshed the c:\ only to find that it won’t show any hidden folders. I again went to the Tools>folder and found the setting of Show all files and folders was reseted. Now how do I see the content, what I did was went to windows search and in advanced option I gave search hidden files and folders and gave svchost.exe as the search keyword. Bang it searched it, so I opened the folder to find out this file was not alone, the other files in this Folder were [offspring], 2.mp3, Icon.ico, reproduce.txt, svchost.exe, drivelist.txt, script1.txt, std.txt .

These are the keys that were responsible for the hidden folder problem that you faced earlier

Now to rectify this go to Start Menu>Run and type regedit . In the Registry Editor browse to this entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL and in the “Checked all” key reset it back to 1 from 2. Now you can change the settings in the folders option. Now delete the folder C:\heap41a and clear all the key entries from this registry entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE,SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\

Now the virus infection is removed 100%. Before you are done make sure you format the usb drive it doesn’t infect other systems too.(you ....better do it from other system)

All the best shyam . Untill a tool is out for this worm, you can follow this method to remove w32.USBWorm.i hope you got all....

Today i have exam on.net . and i have to complete my four chapter as early.so i don't think itz good to spend more time to update my blog.It could be better if i complete my blog updatation as soon as posbl.i do have a unlimited bandwidth usage from 2.00am -8.00am so i should be bit faster.

my dataone is disconnected for past two months.and i don't know how i have gone through this long period .i thought i will download and try to install Linux in my computer .but all gone vain.
and i haven't updated my magic key at niit student.com and i think will have update it as soon as possible because i am having my niit exam next week so ...i thing i Will get the connection within two to three weeks. and i also was not able to ask Justin that weather e able to come to my home because i don't thing he will be coming to my home unless i have the connection.but my hope still prevail that i Will be able to ask him to visit one time.
i am also having my first midterm exam on 9 of July and i know this a huge task for me that i have to revise all those topic which i have not completed .but again i have a hope to finish it as early as on next Friday .

INSTALL LINUX .....WHATZ UP ?

yeah, today morning i just simply gone through the computer magazine and i read a few interesting articles about the Linux and what is its advantages and uses and also how to install it ....actually i have no idea for what for i should install it ...but my curiosity made me to think the other way around .
truly speaking i was amazed to see the advantages of Linux and why don,t it have a mass coverage in the market.it truly a remarkable stuff that i have read.actually the real credit should go Justin because he is the one how made me to like the Linux and i am really likeing it alot .now my next mission is to install the linux by my self ,without calling justin and nandu...who are they ? they told me that they have installed linux to many friends.but...but i will install my linux by myself without anybodys help....this doesn't mean that i won't ask any help from them but i will install by my self ....it may take a few days because curently i am trying to update myself about LINUX .

with lot of expectation i brought my study material to British library.but all gone vain .tomorrow i am having my improvement examination on first years English bcom.Now i am at library without any reason ..i thought i could study my chapter here,decide to come here and learn my chapter was because ,here it is very silent and no one could disturb you.
Today i left from home at around 2:30pm,morning i didn't learned anything i thought i will start here.Actually i thought i could ask the permission and bring the books inside.but she didn't allowed me to bring it inside. today's back i brought a new book of mine (.NET) inside without anybody permission.on that day i learned a bit from here. but tomorrow is my exam and i have no idea about what i will be writing there.now i have decided go home as soon as passable and revise all my chapter.
i don't think i will be able to learn my portion from here ...any more within a few min i will be leaving here.
And after reaching home i have to do something to save my marks.bye

so letz find what gone wrong with that day .....so boys and girls here we go to past and find what happened.it was yesterday that i came to NIIT on time as he(ANIL sir) told me that ...i have to learn punctuality first,because i was late on that,so i thought i will be little early ,on Sundays class i was the first one to come and occupy the seat and to be frank the sir was late for about 30 minutes ,by the time nandu came he told me that he had a wonderful chat yesterday that on his entire 20 years a girl namely anju proposed him that he told me that he will always cherish.
ok! about the the sir how was taking our class on .NET as asked d a dozen questioned that i could not answer. i liked the way he teaches us and he was the first one to ask a question to me .and i can't forget it and it truly inspired me a lot.
and another important thing was that yesterday we have give a wonderful bash to our beloved faculty sasikala(sashku)the full credit should go to our wonderful DIHFLA , who has brought a chocolate cake yesterday that we shared with our friend and the faculty also with us was anil sir and venna teacher .

hea...today... i can tell u that it was a boring day for me as iwas not on time at NIIT and i missed my pervious class due to the movie and not only that i was also lost the class of .NET and he told us that he has done his best but the remaining is all upto us to learn.

heah....on friday me,sujay,ansari,krishna kumar,vipin and rohit(sujay's friend) went to watch spiderman3...but..we could not able to watch the movie ...because the owner of the theater has died on the day the movie was released.that z why could'nt make to watch the first day first show .
as i am not eager to watch the show on that day it self because i not see, any meaning in watching the movie on that day itself.sujay is very found of watching the movie on that day itself/.
but let me tell you,he watched the movie on that day itself ,not in morning or matine...because there was no show at that time.but he was able to watch on first show...without informing me....but he told me that he will go and watch the movie that day itself....he made it !
i came to know when he called me at night hen the movie finished.he was really despied on that day. that was sujays story...back to my experiences....
we (me,ansari,kichu and kichu's brother ram)went to watch the movie YESTERDAY...as they actually planned to watch the movie on saturday because i had the class @ NIIT ....i told them that i won't be able to make it on saturday...but they understood my situation and they postponed on to sunday ...as i did had any class on that day ...as there was only machine room exercisese.we went to watch the movie it was a great experience...and alll together the the movie was all around perfectly edited and the grafic effect was a real breathe taking experiences for me ....i and my friends the movie from the front seat because there was no seat for us ...because we did booked the ticket...thank god it was NEW THERATER as it is the widest screen resoulotionin the city.

yeah...!today was the big day for me has ,as Anil sir started .net class with a great expection....actually i didn't have any idea with the .net.But he asked a butch of questioned....but the great wizard of our class justin and nandu was able to answer all tose questioned......welll let me start begining onwards
today i thought i should go watch the much anticipated movie SPIder man 3,but i informed to everybody that i wont be able to come as i have class at NIIT.yeah a have to go the library won't aloow to be here after 7 pm ...guys i willl edit it after i reach home.
