I’ve been asked recently if we still find time for kink.  The answer is yes, but not nearly enough. Now that I think of it, that answer applies to a good many things these days; sex, walks, showers, sleep, home-cooked meals, writing…our lives have definitely changed. I hope the time will come where we both can say that it was the right thing to do.  I don’t think ♀ can say that right now. This has been much harder on her and I worry about…well, I worry. ’nuff said for now.

I want to talk about writing or the lack of it here or anywhere else. Writing has always been my outlet…my way of processing thoughts and feelings, my way of trying to make sense of  life/the universe/everything (I miss Doug). I also miss writing. It’s just that we’re so damn busy. It’s amazing enough when we find the time and energy to do something sexy and or kinky, but there never seems to be the time to blog about it. When I do sit down and think about something that’s happened too much time has passed for me to capture it. That could just be because I’m out of practise. ♀ has pointed out that some of my best pieces have been entirely fictitious.

I remember from writing classes that there are 2 basic strategies for writing. Slowly and meticulously…finding the perfect word, crafting the perfect sentence. Or as fast as possible…not worrying about spelling or grammar,  just capturing the essence of the story and editing like crazy after. The trick to both is writing. every. single. day. I’d like to promise myself even 30 minutes a day, but even that seems daunting. Hell, I haven’t even kept up the basic maintenance of this site.

The domain renewal notice has been in my inbox (mocking me) for the the past 2 weeks. It’s not about the cost, it’s about the commitment. Why renew it if I’m not going to find the time to write?  People who just talk about doing something and never actually do it are boring and I’d hate to be boring.

Maybe it would help if we had one of these installed in the bakery…

Gawd, even that took me 2 days to write. I did renew the domain for another year. I’m not going to make any public resolutions about how much or how often I’m going to write, but I am going to write something.
