Step 2: Start Redsn0w, select “Jailbreak” then check “Install Cydia”. Follow the onscreen steps to place your device into DFU mode.

Step 3: Wait for Redsn0w to apply the full untethered jailbreak!

Once done, your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch will be rebooted into fully untethered jailbreak mode!

For those of you who rely on unlock (Ultrasn0w or Gevey SIM) must preserve the old baseband using “Custom IPSW” option found in Redsn0w.

Yesterday I had the honor of receiving a beta 2 key from a personal friend and this more or less killed my previous sworn allegiance to HoN (heroes of newerth). I say this because, there is so much things improved in dotA-2 which makes this the game to play from the other similar type of games like LoL or HoN.

I will be posting updates with guides and more material soon so stay tuned. Furthermore, I have personally contacted valve asking for a few beta keys to give out to our daily readers so if they reply soon we will schedule a competition.

* Any (FAT or SLIM) PlayStation 3 Console running firmware 3.41 or above.
* PS Jailbreak USB Modchip (Can be easily purchased from ChipSpain or OzModChip).
* An external USB drive formatted to FAT32 with the “Backup Manager” file on it which you can download from here.
* Original disc of any PS3 game which you want to backup.

Step 1: Power off your console and make sure that there isn’t any disc in the Blu-ray drive.

For the SLIM Model: Remove the power chord before plugging in the USB.
For the FAT model: Turn off the power switch found at the backside of the console.

Step 2: Now insert the USB based PS Jailbreak Modchip to any USB port of your choice on the console. Once the USB is in place, Power ON the console and immediately press the “Eject” button. There should now be two LEDs turned-on on the USB as the console is loading.

PS-Jailbreak-LightsIf the LED light on the USB turns green, you are good to go as the PS Jailbreak has been successfully loaded.

PS-Jailbreak-GreenIf the LED turns red, then it means that the PS Jailbreak Modchip didn’t load successfully. This usually happens when the Power and Eject button sequence wasn’t performed properly. Start from Step 1 again if you end up having the red light.

Step 3: Once the console has finished booting up with the PS Jailbreak Modchip, plug-in the external USB storage device which has the “Backup Manager” setup to the console’s USB port.

Step 4: Now navigate to the “Game Menu” and select the option “Install Package Files” and then select “manager.pkg” file. This will basically install the “Backup Manager” application that you download earlier to your hard drive.

Step 5: When the “manager.pkg” file is done loading, scroll all the way down in the “Game Menu” and there you should see a new application called “Backup Manager”, run it.

Step 6: Now we’re in the Backup Manager app. Insert the game in the console’s optical drive which you want to backup. Press “O” and you will be asked where to make the backup, on the internal HDD or the external storage source connected via USB. This process is further elaborated by the following screenshots.

Step 7: In order to play a game via the backup you just made, insert any original game disc into your console (To emulate the loading process), run “Backup Manager” in the “Game Menu”. Press “X” to play the selected backup game.

Step 8: Now you will be taken back to the main menu. In the “Game Menu” you will see the game which you have backed up. Now you can select the game, and run it without having the disc in the console’s drive.

Make sure that the PS Jailbreak USB Modchip is connected to your console at all the times when you are playing the games via backups. Enjoy.

What’s Spirit?

Spirit is an untethered jailbreak for iPad, iPhone, and iPod touch on the latest firmwares. If you currently are using a tethered jailbreak, you have to restore to use Spirit. Do not upgrade if you use an unlock on an iPhone 3G or 3GS. (You can, however, restore to 3.1.2 if you have SHSH blobs for that version.)

NOTE: Spirit is not a carrier unlock.

Requirements

* Any iPad, iPhone, or iPod touch on firmware 3.1.2, 3.1.3, or 3.2.
* An activated device: one not stuck on the Connect to iTunes or Emergency Call screen.
* Any version of iTunes 9 (including 9.1.1).
* Syncing with iTunes before trying this highly recommended.

Troubleshooting: If you’re getting error code c0000005, apparently setting compatibility mode to Windows 98 allows Spirit to work.

The following step by step guide will help you jailbreak your iPhone 3G ONLY (for now) on iPhone OS 4 Beta.

Step 1: Download iPhone OS 4 Beta for iPhone 3G.

Step 2: Update to this latest firmware file: iPhone1,2_4.0_8A230m_Restore.ipsw

Step 3: Start redsn0w 0.9.5 and point it to the original iPhone OS 4 Beta firmware for iPhone 3G to proceed.

Step 4: Now select “Install Cydia” and click “Next”.

Step 5: Now make sure your device is both OFF and PLUGGED IN to the computer before you click “Next”.

Step 6: Connect your device in recovery mode by pressing the Power and buttons continuously.

At this stage you will be presented with a screen where you will have to quickly hold “Power” button and then while holding the “Power” button, you will now have to hold “Home” button too. Now after few seconds release “Power” button but keep holding “Home” button until installation begins.

Step 7: Sit back and enjoy while redsn0w will do all the rest for you. Once done, your iPhone 3G will restart automatically and you will find it jailbroken with iPhone firmware version 4.0.

You will now notice that Cydia has a blank white icon. You’ll also notice that Cydia has no sources. Go to the Sources panel and add http://apt.saurik.com/cydia-3.7 repo. Now restart your phone and you should see the regular standard Cydia logo now.

How-to Enable Multitasking:

Once done, you can now enable multitasking on iPhone 3G, OS 4 by simply editing a N82AP.plist file as mentioned here. Open the said .plist file and change the multitasking key to = TRUE. If the is not there, add it and you’ll be done.
