This weekend, Daniel's Uncle gave us special passes to go to the Gem and Bead wholesalers show . I'm not even joking when I say it was Heaven for me. I pretty much peed my pants from excitement with sooo many beads, jewelry supplies and everything I do for jewelry making galore! There was so much that I didn't even know where to start or what to buy and ended up getting random things 2 necklaces and a few bright colored unique bead strands. There was actually another intention for going to the show, but that will have to be later in another post:)

Grad School

I have a ridiculous story to share..
I'm taking grad school classes to get a Masters in Modeling and Simulation with an emphasis in Interactive Design.
Ok.. So last semester (this past spring)
I didn't pay for my classes, I think it was one of those subliminal I don't really feel like doing this things. Ok so the school dropped me from all my classes. I really could have talked to them and tried to figure something out but I didn't. Well..
This semester as I'm determining what courses to take I realized I have 15 credits to graduate.

Are you kidding me?! YES... thats right. 3 courses.

ok so.. It gets better, one of those courses will not be offered again until next spring and another in summer, so I will not be graduating now until next summer.

I made a website for myself

I've decided it was important for me to combine my creative design blog, and my portfolio under one website, I thought it would be good to basically make a personal website, It really won't effect anything on this particular blog other than I may add more craft tutorials and sewing basically to keep my personal crafts and endeavors slightly separate from my professional. It looks really good though so I'd love for you to check it out and "Follow" along via feed burner or bloglovin.

Interesting Statistics. I don't write all that much over at my "creative in my mind blog" anymore, especially now that I'm transferring it to my new website. But my statistics on feedburner were... so much higher than normal... umm hello people I'm going to be deleting that blog - why follow now??

Just thought it was a little strange. Oh well.

An Evening Unveiled

Saturday Night I was able to join the lovely ladies of Orlando Belly Dance to preform. It was actually a great show that a bunch of my family and friends enjoyed. It showcased the variety of dance that the studio offers along with their companies.

Our group was one of two Veil routines. I loved our music to the routine ( Hup By Tarkan)

I was really nervous the whole time -not at the crowd or that I'd forget the routine -but that trying to remember to Smile and have a lot of expression:)

I've been watching Mad Men non-stop and have finally caught up completely on this season. I'm not sure how I feel about the show, I find it slightly depressing and it has subliminally given me a craving to smoke cigarettes and drink hard liquor (I still have never smoked a cigarette- and learned that I can't stand an Old Fashioned b/c it is basically straight whiskey). I find it slightly realistic to the advertising industry -as in how the clients act towards pitches, but what I love the most about the show by far is the fashion. I've always had a love for vintage style fashion but this defiantly has encouraged me to look at how I can make something old new again. I went to good will and found this Old Lady shirt for about $2.50, I loved the vintage style pattern, so I decided to give it a whirl and attempt to sew again. Here are my before and After's, Note*: I already cut a piece of it for the before, so... I probably should have done a full before but you get the idea. Oh and sorry for no make up, it was late.

A Graphic, crude comedy made by the creators of South Park about a Team of assorted American Heroes who are ready to crack down on Terrorists. Some people find this movie offensive, But I try to seek out a good marionette porn scene when selecting movies.

Aziz Ansari

I went last night to see Aziz Ansari. I've seen his tour on Comedy Central before and chuckled, but seriously he was So Funny last night! It was so good, I was extremely impressed. My stomach actually hurt from laughing so hard afterwards. I've always been a big fan of his shows and movies so I'm really glad I went, and I highly recommend checking out his tour for your area.

Easter

We had a strange Easter. Normally I go to church, or sunrise service and then spend the day at the beach. My family has never been very religious however, I love the excuses to spend time with them and eat a lot of candy.

This year Daniel and I decided we were going to go out to his family's for Easter. For whatever reason last minute, Daniel changed his mind and we decided not to go at all. So instead, the night before we hosted a dinner with our friends, then continued the next day with a Star Wars LAN. Although I had a blast and enjoyed the weekend, it still is one of the strangest Easter's I've ever had, as in - it felt like it didn't even happen.

What's funny about this movie is, my best friend and I went to see it in theaters after a marathon of watching Arrested Development -We have a slight obsession with Gob! We laughed and laughed for whatever reason because it was hilarious. Last night after re-watching it, I defiantly still enjoyed it, and of course recommend it, however it wasn't laughing through out the entire movie like I remembered.

If there is one thing I hate it's being sick. After the conference last week, I came down with a bad cold, probably from shaking so many germy hands. It got worse over the weekend and I am finally just starting to feel better today. It's actually amazing how just taking an extra day of rest and relaxing helps. Of course disinfecting everything by spraying it down with Lysol and clorox wipes, doing all laundry, replacing my toiletries, and of course making chicken noodle soup helped as well.

High Rise - Implosion

The Orlando Arena was imploded this sunday, you can see it in the picture slightly, They imploded it at 7:30Am so I was not awake for that, but I got to see the after math.

It was also Daniel's dad's birthday, so we went to celebrate at his High Rise. I love city living. If I could afford it I would love to have a view like this..

And to go swimming at the pool regularly on the top of high building, yes I would be all about that - Now if only there were an Ocean near Orlando.

Having a Photobooth at a wedding is seriously like the new standard, they are just so much fun. Stacey put the pictures up from last weekend, so I wanted to share the few we were in.
What is funny is the later in the night it got the crazier the pictures looked.

Did you ever make terrible movies as a teenager? Where you get your friends, and make parody originals, and you laugh because it was funny while making it, but in reality it was just bad. Thats pretty much what this movie is, except they have friends like Dustin Diamond and Jason Mewes and a slightly higher budget.

Juggalo's seriously boggle my mind. Beware of the Hatchet man.

St Pattie's day themed Wedding

This weekend we were honored to watch the matrimony of our good friends Craig and Stacey. Their wedding was a St Patty's day themed wedding with lots of green coloring.

The highlight of the night was the couple's first dance. It was about a 10 minute sequence featuring everything from the twist to raving with glow sticks. It was Very cute.

Congrats you crazy kids you.

Concert: Mute Math

Daniel's favorite band is MuteMath. They have really boomed since I started liking them and have been on the Transformers and Twilight soundtracks.

Mutemath is so good in concert that they literally have ruined going to other concerts- because no one can really compare (Well.. except Taylor Swift - who literally transports you to a fairytale). What I think makes the concert so good, is that the band uses the audience to be a part of the show. By integrating the audience by standing in with them, or bringing people on stage it makes the experience more personal. They also have a tendency to use elaborate visual elements, such as great lighting effects, projected images and confetti.

Saturday we went to their tour at the House of Blues, and it did not disappoint. The lead singer at one point took an inflatable mattress put it on top of the audience, then stage dove off of his organ onto the mattress, which then lit up with flashing lights and was carried all across the entire general standing area.

It was a Great show! I seriously cannot stress, that if Mutemath comes to your town, you should check out their concert.

I have 3 great video's I've been trying to upload all day but my network is really not cooperating with me. So I will upload them later when they finally come in.

It seriously amazes me that some movies get made. This early 2000's film is in honor of St. Patty's day. Leprechaun in the Hood. -And believe me, it is as bad as the trailer makes it to look. But who wouldn't want to watch a movie staring Iced T with a smoking Leprechaun?

New Blue Rug and Chair

This was a relatively slow weekend. It rained a lot, so plans changed. We ended up seeing the Movie "John Carter of Mars", which was surprisingly really good (and side note, the actor that plays John Carter, is gorgeous eye candy).

I'm currently in the mist of decorating and designing my Home office. So I went to Home Depot to pick up paint and laminate flooring samples. Ikea to get desk, table, and storage ideas. Then Daniel had no trouble convincing me to go to Pier 1, where I broke down and bought a new rug, and papasan chair, Only because they had the colors I wanted and they've been hard to find for a good price.

So in Majority my living room is now pretty much done.

I'm really excited to be able to participate in this on April 21st. I haven't been in a dance recital since I was in High School. Since January I've started taking 3 different dance classes Ballet, Jazz and Belly Dancing. Belly Dancing is by far my favorite. It is fun yet challenging and slightly unusual.

Taking Action for losing weight

I finally got a reality check about my weight. Craig and Stacey's wedding is in 2 weeks, my cousin's wedding is in 13 Weeks, and my 10 year reunion is in 7 months. I honestly don't want to go to reunion looking the way I do now.

I've finally found my motivation to move forward in losing weight.

I started back on myfitnesspal about a week ago, (I added an app button on my blog so you can follow along -see to the right!) I also bought a fit bit so I could sync it up and measure my exercise more accurately. Most important I've majorly changed my eating habits and what I eat. Most important I'm writing down EVERYTHING.

I CAN and Will do this!

Food this Week: Lambchops

I know from my view it seems, I am in the minority of lifestyle bloggers who eat meat. For the few who do, Daniel and I had made Lamb chops with asparagus, and brown rice with quinoa on Friday.

Lamb:

coat with oil. coat with herbs (coriander, parsley, powdered mustard, crushed pepper, sea salt)

Roast in dutch oven for about 15-20 minutes, on stove, turn so it doesn't stick.

Asparagus:

Saute with oil and garlic, add cracked salt and pepper

Brown Rice and Quinoa:

(...Costco 90 second bag)

Organizing sentimental items

Last weekend I went to my parents house, to clean out my old closet full of high school nostalgia. Because I had taken boxes of random sentimental items home, I needed to go through everything and decide what was really worth keeping and what wasn't. Along with that, I needed to throw away a lot of items, papers, etc. I managed to condense 7 boxes into 1 and a 1/2 boxes. It really was difficult to decide on some items to keep or not, but in reality they are just taking up space. I took the zillions of photos in picture frames and put them in a small photo album. Got rid of awards that were just "honorable mention" or "participant". Any items that were really teeny-bopper childish, I put aside for donation, and anything that I knew I wasn't going to use, want to look at again, or need I threw away or set aside for donation. Another way I went about deciding was if it wasn't worth explaining to my future kids what it meant, it wasn't worth keeping.

Maybe I'm just a sentimental person, but did anyone else have a hard time cleaning items similar out?
What I learned from this experience is that you need to tackle cleaning these items as "Do I need this?" "How sentimental is this?" and "Can I remember it without the item?".

It's hard, but like the last scene in Toystory 3, Sometimes you have to let go of things to let the person appreciate them more.

Next weekend I may be tackling the garage....... urgh.
