One Tiny Element

On Monday the 19th of September, Paper Colleague (Maria Vellanz) and Sweetie (Dan Knowler of The Infinite Three) decided to embark on a collaborative project called “One Tiny Element”.

At the start of the week a sound is chosen from the Creative Commons audio website Freesound.org. Sweetie and Paper Colleague must then each compose a track using only the chosen sample. The sample can be multiplied, reversed, mangled, chopped up and messed with in anyway – but the chosen sample is the only sound source allowed. The fruits of this challenge will be posted weekly at onetinyelement.wordpress.com… and in the spirit of freesound.org will be freely available under a creative commons license.

The project is now in week 3… here’s what we’ve done so far…

iLL FM this Thursday

Sweetie – Blackthread CDR

Sweetie live at The Others

I shall be performing live as Sweetie at the next Ill FM event at The Others gallery in Stoke Newington on the 1st of July. The set will be streamed live on www.illfm.net. For this show I’ll be collaborating with Maria Vellanz (of Leisur Hive / Paper Colleague). Here’s a flyer:

The recent Sweetie album, Blackthread is available here along with most of the other Sweetie material. An album of new recordings is in the works. Paper Colleague’s The Outhouse Of Love is due to be digitally reissued via Actual Size very soon. Place these things inside your ears at the earliest opportunity.
