It is important to find a certified swim instructor for your child. While this seems more of a rhetorical question, there are more reasons why you as a parent, should be finding a certified child swimming instructor rather than a general swimming teacher. The problem with most parents is that they bundle their children in with mixed classes of all ages and swimming experts and this stunts their development in a sense. When I say development, I am referring to their swimming development and statistically speaking, alot of the children who do come out of these mixed swimming classes often do not have the maximum swimming capabilities as they should have, some of them come out with no swimming capabilities at all.

Why is this? It is all down to the environment and the instructor that you choose. Placing your child in a mixed class with teenagers and in some cases adults does not give them an apt environment of interaction and attention that they need to properly learn how to swim. In a child’s mind, it is about how much fun they are having and the sub conscious mind will often change the idea of learning into a fun filled activity that they would willingly want to do. One learning becomes an activity the child enjoys, then naturally everything will fall into place. Children who are around other kids older than them tend to become shy and not want to participate greatly in the activities at all.

Child psychologists always recommend that you place your child in an environment of their peers, because all the natural shyness and hesitancy will go away once they realise that everyone within the circle is equal to them. They will be able to bond better with their training maters and have a better time. Also, ensure that the class is a beginner’s class, or that all the children attending the swimming lesson are on par with each other in terms of abilities in the swimming pool. A child swimming instructor is quite different from a general one because they are trained to handle children and understand the psychology behind teaching them how to swim.

Teaching adults and teenagers are quite straight forward, while a child needs to be placed in an environment of casual competition and interactivity to properly motivate them to swim. This is why you need to find a certified swim instructor for your child. A certified swim instructor that specialises in teaching children will also understand the fact that they need to give more attentiveness to children, they can better identify who is lagging behind and give them more attention.

This is the kind of special attention and sensitivity that your child needs to properly learn about swimming. There are many good swimming instructors around, and there are a fair bit who specialise in teaching children how to swim. This is because many people agree, from swimmers, child psychologists and even parents - the best time to teach them to swim is when they are young.

How to swim faster? There are many ways to go about improving your overall time and conquering the pool in record time. Practice makes perfect. There is no other way to put it. If you are beginner who wants to improve your overall speed in swimming, then all you need to do is to go to the pool as often as you come and time yourself each time. Even if its an improvement of a second a week, that is progress and as you get tougher and hardier, you will find that you are able to swim faster that ever before. But the thing about practice is that it has to be maintained on a regular basis.

How do you think Michael Phelps was able to break all those records during the Olympics? He practiced on a regular basis and that is what you need to do if you want to break your own personal record and conquer the swimming pool. Make it a routine if you can and practice all the possible strokes that you want to be faster in. One of the best ways to swim faster is to have a swimming mate that has the same sort of performance capabilities that you do.

One. Competition is one of the best spurs to doing anything better. Athletes often train in pairs, because the performance of one another is just the motivation that they need to improve themselves. Find a partner to swim with and you will soon see that you will be able to swim faster. But be careful when you do choose someone to swim with. Swimming with someone that is too slow or too fast has the reverse effect on your performance. You will find that you either have no motivation to continue because the other person constantly outperforms you or you think its too easy and start to rest on your laurels. Grow together. Get better together. Get faster together. Now, we will discuss a bit on swimming tactics on how to swim faster.

Secondly, technique is extremely important.First is the all important start of the swim, you need to find the technique that propels you into the water. Most expert swimmers talk about the glide technique that you need to master. Leg power is all where it is at so train those legs at the gym and stretch yourself before each swim. Strong legs are the key to swimming faster because they are the engines of the human body when it comes to the water. Swimming experts also recommend that you take longer strokes, not faster ones when in the pool, because they give you more torque and distance on average.

Short sharp strokes are not effective in swimming faster as opposed to controlled, longer strokes. These are just some of the ways in which you can learn how to swim faster. Surely, there are other ways and joining a swimming programme is a good way to get hints and tips to improve your overall time.

Third, make sure swimming is something you like to do. Once it becomes a passion, improvement will come naturally to anyone. These are the three different ways of how to swim faster and perform better in the pool.

There are many great benefits associated with a swimming training programme for both children and adults. In the subject of learning how to swim, there is no age limit or age cap - anyone and everyone can sign on to a swimming training programme. It is never too late because the benefits, especially the health benefits, stretch through the entire age range from toddlers all the way to the aged. Swimming is one of the low impact sports in the world today and they do not have the same detriments that are associated with other activities like running, athletics or going to the gym. Swimming is so easy an activity to induce an active lifestyle, toddlers are able to take part in it. Yes! The health benefits are just as good as running.

You can burn calories, exercise your cardio vascular system and gain lean muscle. Many physical therapist recommend swimming as the number one physical activity for the entire family. Also swimming is a great talent to have. Imagine the amount of fun you will be missing out on if you cannot swim. Swimming can burn alot of calories, almost as much as 900 calories an hour if you can go that long. Swimming is also an excellent way for you to relax and unwind. Many yoga and mind regression therapy use the calming and floating effect of water to induce an almost meditative state in the person. There are other psychosomatic benefits to swimming, if you consent to it to transpire. unwind and go for a dip takes very very little effort.

Allow your mind to meander, concentrating on nothing but the cadence of your swimming stroke. This outward appearance of reflection can help you achieve a sensation of happiness; making you leave your swim invigorated and prepared to go on with the rest of your calendar day. Numerous swimmers find an circuitous advantage from swimming.

They build up life abilities such as sports man ship, the ability to time manage better, willpower and an increased sense of character throughout their contribution in the activity. Swimming for kids also helps them to avoid developing a phobia for water; as many child psychologists blame the start of ‘water phobia’ from the fact that many parents do not send their children for early swimming lessons. Once children can associate swimming with time with their loved ones an family, then there is a lot less likely that they will develop a shyness or fear towards water.

Shyness and strangeness towards a situation is quite dangerous in children because when left untreated, it can rest in the subconscious mind and grow to something worse - a paralysing fear or phobia. These are some of the excellent benefits of a swimming training programme, and I encourage anyone at any point of their life to start a swimming programme if you have not already; and if you have kids with you, the earlier, the better. Once you realise the great benefits of a swimming training programme for health of mind and body, you will never want to stop swimming.

The benefits of toddler swimming classes are extremely important to any parent and they should realise this. This article will discuss the tangible benefits, both physically and mentally to a toddler and their developmental years. Physically speaking, swimming is a great healthy activity, one of the only ones, that can be enjoyed by one as tender and as young as a toddler.

While having spent 9 months within the womb of their mother still fresh within latent memories, going back into the water would seem only natural to them again. While I know many parents fear putting someone so young as their toddler in the swimming pool, it is perfectly safe, and if all the normal safety precautions and gear are worn and they are there to monitor their children, swimming is a harmless activity.

Swimming instructors, especially child swimming instructors always have advocated early lessons and this is because it allows them to form a natural affinity for the water, and swimming is a large part of a modern child (and adults) life as a form of social activity and a sort of exercise as well. A word about exercise, when a toddler is introduced to the water and bonds with it, it never leaves the mind. Swimming then becomes a fun filled activity and it is no longer a routine. Looking forward to exercising is something that should be instilled in everyone at an early age.

Swimming with your toddler is also an excellent bonding experience to have, for both you and your child. Child psychologists often tout the cooling effect of the water, the gentle environment, the tactile combination of your touch and that of the water lending itself to an excellent environment where parent and child can strengthen their bond. It is also a very soothing environment for the child as well, which means less stress for them. While this is not proven yet, babies who do go for swimming classes with their parents tend to cry less and are much more relaxed.

Also, it avoids the formation of phobias, like hydrophophobia, or any one of the associated fears of water and swimming. When toddlers associate water with their parents, with a fun filled activity and love, then they will enjoy swimming and will be able to enjoy a full social life as they progress on to their later years. Phobias and fears are formed within the subconscious mind of a child with events that are related to trauma and mental association.

Planting in a positive association with the water in a child will promote a healthy affection for the water and get them into a positive cycle. These are just some of the benefits that parents should realise are associated with toddler swimming classes. There are a great many of them available and when you do, make sure that you choose one that has a certified child swimming instructor and an environment where they can learn and have fun, together with you.

Swimming is a great activity but the problem with most people is that they often either learn swimming too late of they do not learn at all. Surprisingly enough, there is quite a large population of people who do not have the skills to swim and many swimming experts and child psychologists all over the world agree that people should start learning how to swim when they are young kids. It is important to get swim lessons for kids because of many reasons and this article will list down a few.

One of them is the fact that swimming is really good exercise and it is an easy form of exercise for small kids to get involved in. Psychologists affirm that swimming most often is equated with fun when it comes to children, especially when they are in a class with their peers.

By associating fun with exercise, children will be able to get into the habit of swimming - which means they will be subjecting themselves to regular exercise, which keeps them healthy and fit. Swimming is good exercise for both boys and girls and the learning curve is also quite easy to overcome. Another thing is that kids should always know how to swim - the might be placed in social situations when having the ability to swim might enhance their ability to have fun with other kids.

They would associate swimming as something normal for kids of their age to do, especially when they are confronted with the fact that they are the only ones that are not able to swim. Kids being kids will make fun of other kids who cannot do something, and they would view themselves as a social outcast and shy away from activities, which involve the swimming pool or even the beach - two places which are integral for a child to have fun in. This problem can even spread to adult hood and the subconscious mind might interpret these uncomfortable feelings and develop them into a phobia of sorts.

These are how phobias are formed, as child psychologists discuss the roots of the fears of swimming. Swimming must be taken at an early age where the child can associate it with fun, family and a sense of adventure. In any case, swim lessons for kids is crucial because it is also a useful talent to take into adult hood - who knows, your talent to swim could be the deciding factor to save a drowning life sometime in the near future.

It is also good exercise for adults as well especially those who have either grown too old to do physical track running or go to the gym, or have injuries which prevent them from running, then swimming is a brilliant alternative that exercises all the muscles on the body and also your cardio vascular system. This is why it is important to get swim lessons for kids today and if you have a child, you should consider it as an investment in his health and future.
