<p>WCSC is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation with Swim Mark accreditation and now has approximately 1000 members ranging in ages 3 - 70. The charity operates out of many pools around Winchester, with our main base being the superb 50m pool at Bar End Leisure Centre, and attracts members from across Hampshire.       <title><![CDATA[Lead Swimming Coach]]></title>
      <description><![CDATA[<p>Plymouth College in Devon is seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and committed Lead Swim Coach to support the elite swimming programme at Plymouth College. Applicants must have established experience and proven results developing swimmers towards a British and/or English Age Group National Championships or a national equivalent.</p>

<p>Plymouth College is a leading co-educational school which has operated at the forefront of independent education since its inception in 1877. With its excellent programmes for the academic and personal development of pupils, fantastic wellbeing and pastoral care and world-leading performance sports and co-curricular activities, the College produces well-rounded, confident and resilient young people who stand out from the crowd.</p>

<p>The successful applicant will be a first-class coach to our Plymouth College swimmers: enthusiastic, passionate, self-motivated, driven, caring and an excellent communicator. The successful applicant will be open to learning, and will display abilities and understanding around supporting the development of athletes of all ages and abilities: performance, development, age group, junior and para swimmers.</p>

<p>Candidates may also choose to undertake optional boarding duties, assisting with the supervision and pastoral care of boarders on a duty rota. These duties are not part of the core 39‐hour coach contract but offer valuable additional experience within a busy boarding and day school environment.</p>

<p><strong>Residential Option:</strong> On‐site accommodation is available only for staff who opt into the boarding element of the role. To reside on site, the post holder must undertake a set number of boarding duty hours, which are separate from and additional to the 39‐hour Lead Swim Coach contract.</p>

<p>This is a permanent, full‑time position, working 39 hours per week for 52 weeks per year. The role is remunerated in line with the Plymouth College Support Staff Pay Scale Band 5A. The timing of the hours each week will be flexible and as directed by the school. The post will commence at the start of the 2026/2027 academic year, 1st September 2026.</p>

<p>We are a relatively small club but have achieved highly at British&nbsp;and&nbsp;English Nationals as well as Open Water Nationals over the past few seasons. 	<li>Serve as the anchor point for the LTS to&nbsp;Competition pathway within the pool.</li>
	<li>Work closely and regularly with the LTS Manager to ensure alignment.</li>
	<li>Define and enforce common technical and behavioural fundamentals.</li>
	<li>Identify promising swimmers early and guide their progression.</li>

	<li>Act as the technical reference point at the pool.</li>
	<li>Support, structure, and develop the skills of other coaches.</li>

	<li>Develop coaches who can think, adapt, and make decisions, not just execute instructions.</li>
