At this meeting a number of people who were raised in various Islamic countries or communities will talk about their journeys to disbelief and what they experienced through their journeys. Most of these speakers will then form a panel for a more general discussion as well as answer questions.  Two of the talks have been titled and will be:

"What's happening deep there? (A journey into the Islamic world)"

"Clashing Ideologies – 2nd Generation Australians born into Islamic (Or monotheistic) religion"

After two highly sucessful 'back to the 'burbs' night , the good Atheists of Parramatta want to make it a regular thing.

So Atheists from north, south east or west are invited to gather at the geographical centre of Sydney on the last Sunday night of the month.

This is of special interest to those from Cabrammatta, Strathfield, Ryde, all the various Hills, Blacktown, Fairfield and within that circle, but all are welcome from further fields.

Meet and mingle, talk both big and small, all the shades and colours of atheist opinion, come and share in the like-minded diversity that is the Sydney Atheist community in Parramatta mode.

Come along and meet other atheists in an informal setting. Drinks and meals at reasonable prices in a classy Penrith pub.

Th Sydney Atheists Meetup's Penrith/Blue Mountains Atheist Social Lounge Upstairs at the Red Cow has been going since March 2012. Look for us from 5.30-9.00 p.m. each final Wednesday of the month.

If you've been wanting to get along to one of our events, but the city seemed too far away, or the parking was too difficult, now's the time to come out of the shadows and join us at the Red Cow on the last Wednesday of the month. Maybe you could bring a guest.

And yes, members from the broader districts - Liverpool, Lithgow, Blacktown, Hawkesbury, Hills etc - are also welcome if they want to come.

I'll have big red atheist 'A' on a stand, to help anyone who doesn't know my face to find our tables. Just come upstairs and look for the big A!

We'll meet at the last Thursday of the month for drinks usually at the Aurora Hotel. We'll meet wherever it is from 6pm until the last person is gone. No agenda, no topic, just an opportunity to meet informally and share a few canapés.

Please note we have changed the dinner to before the talk, this will allow people who work outside the CBD to still go to the talk and those that get in early enough to go to the dinner.

Please order at the register and pay when ordering, there is a bar as well.

Please RSVP by the Thursday before so I can give the restaurant pretty exact numbers.

This months dinner will be at

MD Thai's menu is available on their site with entree's starting at $7.5 and main meals starting at $13.50. They do serve vegetarian and have their own selection of Wine, Beer and Spirits, plus they are BYO wine with $6.50 for corkage. This restaurant allows us to pay individually on order so no issues with splitting bills etc.

There will be an additional meetup posted for a pre talk dinner at a nearby restaurant, please RSVP to that meetup if you are going to that at least 2 days prior to allow for acurate numbers to be communicated to the restaurant.

Nearest station is Museum. If you cross the park keeping Liverpool street to your right and the war memorial to your left once you have crossed the park you will see the Hyde Park Plaza, to the left of that is Francis street, a short way down Francis is the Unitarian church, we will meet in either the Chapel or hall depending on numbers of attending and availability.

Once a month the meetup meets for a topical discussion with a special guest. Special guest in the past have been members of the meetup, who spoke on a topic of their choice, or experts from outside, speaking on a topic of the expertise. If you want to speak, or know somebody who would like to speak to us, please contact me, slots are either 1 hour or part there of to make up the hour.

We have the room booked all the way to 10pm so we can fit in more than one talk if need be, please contact me at least a month in advanced to book your talk so we can work out timings. The room should have a projector and other AV, but these are only available pending approval from the Unitarians so please adjust for this. We will also attempt to record these talks and put them up on our youtube channel pending time for editing and final speakers approval.
