It is a quick heads up ,Nokia has issued a new firmware update for the new Nokia Lumia 920 recently and the update will have the following functions and fixes :

• Messaging improvements: A great messaging experience is now even better. You can now add multiple recipients at the same time when you send a text message and automatically save unsent text messages as drafts. You can even edit received text messages before you forward them.
• Text replies to incoming calls: Can’t take a call? Now you can send a prewritten text reply to a caller directly from the call answer screen. It’s a nice way to let people know that you’re not ignoring them.
• Internet Explorer improvements: You can now change your settings to prevent pictures from downloading automatically, an easy way to help keep data usage low. You can also delete selected sites from your browsing history and leave the rest intact.
• Wi-Fi connectivity: Got a favorite Wi-Fi network? Windows Phone 8 will now prioritize Wi-Fi connections based on your connection history.
• Other improvements: Includes many other improvements to Windows Phone.

I was hesitant to open up my decision here for a long time ,but everything has an ending point . I have never dreamed that Symbian would have this fast .Nokia inspired me like lot of others . Because of Nokia I started watching the global mobile industry from the tiny country which is not a market for Smart phones those days.

I have spent most of my earnings in buying the Hi-End Nokia devices ,before it touches Sri Lanka . I could remember that ,I was the almost first retail customer to purchase Nokia N95-8GB(2) in Malaysian stores ,when I was working there. I  had strategically chosen the Singapore border as my living place ,to make sure that I visit Singapore every weekends to play with the new Nokia devices and keep an eye on the mobile phone industry.

I have written most of my reviews of mobile phones after doing an out right purchase of the Nokia devices. Later ,Nokia’s integrated marketing division ,called WOMWORLD/Nokia started to send me trial devices .

I got lot of friends and foes because of my passion towards Nokia via Symbiandreams.com . As many of other Nokia freaks did ,I have stopped writing after losing the interest on Nokia ever since   their shift to Windows Mobile .

Nokia was the leader of Asian markets few years back ,and now the Korean mobile giant Samsung have over taken all shares.Nokia means nothing here ! ,a one time King of phones.

I have moved to Android platform a year back ,and found it is really rocking .

I was thinking to close this blog officially for long time ,but I am compelled to keep this blog for some reasons but not myself here. Yes I am quitting from Symbiandreams.com  .(Updated : 20/Dec/2012)

You will no longer be able to view your contacts on the web after January 24, 2012. Contacts will continue to work great on your Nokia phone. Syncing or backup will continue to work normally and your data will not be affected. You can also export your synced contacts to your personal computer at any time, even after web access is discontinued.”

Nokia Belle Update is Ready for Nokia N8, Nokia E7, Nokia E6, Nokia X7, Nokia C6-01, Nokia C7, and Nokia Oro.

Insights about Nokia’s sales trend are not that much good these days !. Nokia’s latest hi-end phone Nokia Lumia is generating a good sales in some countries ,but the result in Nokia’s own country ,Finland seems almost negative. Where do you go Nokia ?

Nokia have had a market share of  about 76 percent one year back and about 90% some more years ago in Finland.But the latest sales figures in Finland have fallen to 31%   that means 45% percent of  shares have been gone !

A news item appeared on the  Zdnet web site attracted me this week. That went  on saying that Nokia has plans to release a Tablet PC  in 2012 powered by Windows 8 concerning the current trends of the market.

Nokia’s rivals Samsung,Apple and Motorola has several types of Tablet PCs in the market already. In an interview with a French Magazine an official from Nokia revealed this.

“In June 2012, we will have a tablet that runs on Windows 8″, Paul Amsellem said in a telephone interview with the paper. –Zdnet

Nokia already produced a netbook with Windows ,and was quite successful in that too. Nokia seems to have a fluctuated market for the phones due to many reasons at the moment(transform from Symbian to Windows Phone ,etc),and may want to have a more stable position by offering a vast product range .

The expertise they have in handheld devices ,may let them offer a better device for the Tablet market ,What would you say ?
