Things, it seems are finally starting to settle down. I have found a place to stay and I can now concentrate on my studies and believe me I need to. The course that I am doing is will hopefully get me into Reading University, doing Computer Engineering. The thing is, is that I don’t have any UK maths qualifications, so I am having to do GCSE Maths both at foundation level and at higher level plus A/AS Level maths to. This is quite a work load. although the maths is not particularly hard, I still have to do it. I have been falling behind because of not being able to devote enough time to it. So it is now time to do some catching up. I will be setting up a study timetable and also a study journal. I will have to work out what to put into the study journal, but once I get going it should be okay. There is lots to do and lots to keep my occupied. I cannot wait for the time when I am ahead in my studies, that will be so good.

Summertime, a time for opportunities
Summer has hit with a vengeance here in the UK for the past few days it as been very hot. I orginally come from Durban in South Africa and the heat and humidity is comparable to that.
When it is warm like this, it really makes me believe that I can do anything. I suppose that that comes from growing up where it is warm to hot most part of the the year, as opposed to the northern hemisphere.
I feel that there are many opportunities out there, even if the world is in recession and people are losing there jobs. I think that what has been realised is that it is not very good to go chasing after money, people are important too.

I am at a cross-road in my life. I feel that I am not really moving forward and that I need to make some changes. What I would seriously like to do is go to university. The internet has been a big influence on my like, I have acquired a thirst for knowledge. The Internet does have a lot of knowledge but a lot of it cannot be verified and I would also like a formal qualification.
I have applied to the Thames Valley Univerisity. I will hopefully start out by doing an access course. It is the maths that I have to get up to speed on. The other part of the networking, HTML and things like that I have a fairly good understanding of. So lets hope for the best.

Another endevour that I would like to do is hold a charity event for the the charity Computers for Charities. Computers for Charities re-cycle computers for charities in the UK and abroad. They have a deal on with Dixons and Mercedes UK where for 4000 mobiles phones a truck will given to the charity to help transport equipment in Eastern Europe.
This is going to be a bit of a challenge, but I think that I need a bit of challenge in my life now. Plus it will do a whole load of good. I know that there is going to be a lot of work involved in getting this offer the ground, but I am really looking forward to it.

Currently I am contracting and my contract will be ending soon. I am rather concerned about the state of the contracting market. Currently I am contracting and my contract will be ending soon. I am rather concerned about the state of the contracting market. From what I have been told is that there are jobs out there but that now a lot of people are applying for those jobs. So I got to thinking, what about if I organise a get together or a tweetup for people who are looking for jobs and recruitment agents. It will be nothing formal, just a get to know you type event, probably in a pub. People can bring there business cards and there CVs and hopefully a bit of networking can be done.

I would like to see if I could make this a regular event, may be every two months or so. I am hoping that it can be built into some fairly good, will have to wait and see what the reaction will be.

I am working on getting some decent content for my other website, but I am not sure if I should use Drupal or Joomla. I am looking for a good Content Management System (CMS). I am working on getting some decent content for my other website, but I am not sure if I should use Drupal or Joomla. I am looking for a good Content Management System (CMS). First I have to get the content, that is going to take a while, but unfortunately I don’t really have the time. I need to get this thing sorted before June.

I am hoping that this will help me find a decent contract, that is what it is about for me now. I am going down the contracting route. It is much better than being permanent, it has a whole lot less politics and I cannot do office politics, but I may get into proper politics, believe me the UK needs at least one decent politician

This last weekend, I have come down with the flu, no not man flu the proper one. I spent Saturday afternoon asleep and nearly all of Sunday. Everything is aching an I am running a temperature. This is not good, a whole weekend lost, there was plenty of things that I want to do. ARRGGGHHHHH. Well I suppose that there is not a lot that I can do about it.
