Top 10 Countries Leading the Clean-Energy Race

The largest Asian country in terms of population is spending a lot more in clean energy than any other country, even beating out the United States. China’s total investment figure in renewable energy is more than those expedited by the US and UK combined, two countries that round up the Top 3.

The Top 10 Countries that invest more in renewable energy belong to the G20, a group of industrialized and advanced countries with the largest economies in the world. Rounding up the top 10 with their respective spending figures for renewable energy in 2009 are:

1) China $34.6 billion
2) United States $18.6 billion
3) United Kingdom $11.2 billion
4) Rest of EU-27 $10.8 billion
5) Spain $10.4 billion
6) Brazil $7.4 billion
7) Germany $4.3 billion
8) Canada $3.3 billion
9) Italy $2.6 billion
10) India $2.3 billion

The rest of EU includes the 27 member-countries of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia and Sweden.

However, if the EU countries were to be separated and the amount in renewable energy investment is taken into account for each country, the Latin American country, Mexico, would have coveted the 10th spot, spending $1.8 billion in renewable energy.

Clearly, it’s China winning the race, another feat the Asian country has attained in the 21st century.

Top 10 Countries With the Largest Number of Mobile Subscribers

China, being the largest country in the world in terms of population is undoubtedly the largest market when it comes to product demand when individual country per product demand is taken into account. In the cellphone market, it is, without doubt, the largest. And mobile carrier companies are very happy to tap the China market because it is the number one when it comes to the number of mobile subscribers.

Since I've begun a post related to mobile phones and brands, I might as well include ranks and figures related to this subject. Now, it is about the top 10 largest countries in terms of mobile subscribers. China leads the rank with 747 million mobile subscribers (Source: itu.int while rank listing can be found at Chartsbin.com)

Top Cellphone Brands in the Market Today

Mobile phones, or more popularly known as celphones, have emerged from being portable phones for the rich and the businessman into must-haves for almost everybody. Even kids can have their celphones for practical use and not just something to flaunt on to their playmates and classmates. The portable phones are not only used for practical and business purposes such as text messaging and calls. . They can also be used for gaming, computing, as organizers, and even as fashion accessories. Modern cellular phones integrate camera phones, 3G and wireless fidelity system so users can utilize them to take pictures and conferencing as well as for Internet browsing. And from being electronic handsets, these gadgets have transformed into smart phones because of their business-friendly features and integration of advanced operating system.

And with the popularity of mobile phones, many companies manufacturing electronic products have added the mobile phone in their product lines while companies like Nokia and Motorola have been known as cellphone brands and manufacturers since 1980's.

The mobile phone market is over a billion and China is perhaps the biggest market. I don't have exact estimate as to the figure. Cellphone companies want to grab a lion's share in this market while others manage to gain just a slice.

Nokia has been a leader in this mobile phone business and perhaps the known cellphone brand in the world. Apple is a newcomer but quickly gains momentum in the mobile market in which the demand for high-technology portable gadget with chic features is rapidly increasing.

Moreover, cellphone brands also carry the flagships of their origins. Nokia is to Finland while LG and Samsung are to Korea. Apple iPhone, Motorola and Palm are to USA while HTC and BenQ are to Taiwan. Brands from Japan and Sweden have joined hands to give birth to Sony Ericsson phones while Germany's Siemen mobile phones have been divested to Taiwan's BenQ. Japan still has Sanyo while China is accelerating bit by bit in the cellphone market with its Chery mobile phones. And don't forget Blackberry of Research In Motion (RIM) of Canada.

Makers of mobile phones from the regular handsets to advanced smart phones have been competing to gain a big share in the cellphone market. But perhaps, the main driving force to attain this goal is to promote them globally through different advertising media.

In the Philippines, the texting capital in the world, many cellphone brands have promoted their newest models almost every quarter with latest features and chic casings. Impressive TV ads of Nokia, Samsung and Sony Ericsson have been able to capture the Philippine market. I have yet to see a TV ad of Apple in the Philippine television though. Maybe sooner, I don't know.

Now, the intention of this post is to bring about a list of popular cellphone brands in the worldwide market. This is the list in no particular order:

The Top 10 Popular Tax Havens You May Want to Reside Permanently

Countries that have no or low nominal taxes are considered tax havens.

Though there are no definite categories or attributes for a country to be known as a tax haven, the following characteristics are eminent such as:

no tax or low nominal taxes;
foreign tax authorities can't get sufficient information because of lack of effective tax communication
a tax haven's government is lenient in the matters of tax collection
there is no substantial evidence as to the provision and imposition of tax and tax laws to its jurisdiction, and
a tax haven's promotion as an offshore financial center.

Tax havens are also considered tax holiday resorts of many financially-endowed individuals. And many of them want to rescind their citizenships to their home-countries imposing tax burdens on them and register their residences on the soil of tax havens.

Tax havens can be found on Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas and even on Oceania. These nations can range in size, from the little European territory of Andorra to the largest nation- Russia. However, my observation on most of these tax havens is that they belong to high income countries or their nominal GDP per capita is high, even the African tax haven nation, Seychelles has a high nominal GDP per capita despite its low ranking on Human Development Index.

Nevertheless, there are tax havens which are really popular that even by mentioning their names connote to their being tax holiday resorts.

Bur before going to the list, I have to make a disclaimer that this list is not based on any website. This is based on my research, observation and personal conclusion from my findings. You are free to comment if you feel strongly opposed to something about my list.

Why Switzerland at 1st?

Switzerland is a very prosperous country. Just thinking about Switzerland being a neutral country and with excellent business climate (though not indicators of being a tax haven) are probably enough reasons for its government not to impose heavy taxes. But this doesn't mean that this country has no taxes at all. It is popular because of its being a developed country with one of the lowest tax rates in the world.

Bermuda - a North American island nation and a famous offshore financial centre. Many foreign companies want to register their businesses here because of low taxation.

British Virgin Islands- nearly 41% of the world' offshore companies have made this Caribbean paradise as its domicile based on the report of KPMG to the UK government.

The Bahamas - another Caribbean paradise on the list known for the Atlantis resort and no personal income and corporate tax. VAT is not present here and there is no inheritance tax. This is a good place to stay when you want to live on a paradise.

Andorra - I really like to live in this country. It is a small prosperous European country and it doesn't levy tax on personal income.

Monaco- this should be on the third or second on the list.But why it is on the 6th?

Monaco is a very popular tax haven for wealthy people. If you like hedonistic lifestyle and no personal income tax, then you should live here. But this small country is also among the ritziest to live in and I think this factor is probably the reason for making it on the 6th of the list.

Liechtenstein - a small prosperous country in Europe and a popular offshore banking center. Not really tax-free but it just levies low income tax on personal and business, thus attracting businesses. Its low tax rate on corporate and business income is probably the reason for making it among the few countries with more registered businesses than their citizens.

Kuwait- this Middle Eastern country is among the richest in the world. And its citizens here don't have to worry about taxes. The income on its oil reserve is probably sufficient to fund government spendings.

Cayman Island - a major offshore financial site in the Caribbean and the fourth Caribbean tax haven in the list. No income, corporate or capital gains tax. Its government relies on indirect taxation. Its beautiful beaches are among the reasons for making it on the list.

Macau - this is probably known as the "Monaco of the East". Just like Monaco, it is a tax haven and has lots of casinos. But unlike Monaco, this haven is part of China. It is a popular offshore financial center in Asia and has a free port.

There you have it. The popular tax havens which are also popular offshore financial centers. They are on the list because of their:

Brands- Switzerland is a brand for a tax haven as well as Monaco.

Being livable - Many of these tax havens are also regarded as paradise nations because of their resorts. However, the lifestyles of these tax havens are favored mostly by the rich.

Economy - All of the tax havens in the list are prosperous with high GDP per capita and high Human Development Index.

Taxes are really a burden. Though paying taxes is a responsibility of the people of nations that impose taxes to their citizens, many people want to evade paying taxes.However, doing so could put tax evaders in jail.

Yes. Tax evasion is illegal and many governments have made moves to track tax evaders and punish them. Others are penalized while others depending on severity, could be imprisoned.

However, it is good to know that there are countries that don't levy taxes to their citizens. Some of them have also granted tax holidays to investors. Tax havens attract people particularly rich people who probably have the fear of giving their hard-earned money to their governments. Moreover, tax haven countries are magnets of investments.

It's been a long time since my last post here on this blog. I've been having different experiences lately in my life. New beginning, new life, new year and new BLOG!

Yep!

I have a new blog site not hosted by Blogger. It's Bjorn Bernales, my self-titled blog. It is about business, self-development, lifestyle and the likes with a tagline: "Pragmatism and Simplicity in Business and in Life".

Moreover, there are other things that have kept me from updating this blog. Without further ado, here are the top 10 reasons for failing to constantly update this blog.

1) More time browsing and learning about blogging while neglecting to update my blogs;

2) Been occupying time helping my parents with their business;

3) Researching on topics on how to create blogs;

4) Learning more about money-making online;

5) Sucking the time to do worthless things but still reading different blogs worth discovering and learning;

6) Living idly while away from laptop and Internet connection;

7) Working out-of-town and making myself sick from stress and heat;

8) Discovering new friends and new acquaintances;

9) Seeking a mentor for my online business but failing to find any;

So you know why I fail to update this blog. But after some thinking over, evaluating and further probing, I've learned that this blog can also help me make money. Shopping malls can be small just like strip malls or even a line of shops on a street but in a same building. Likewise, there are malls built like box-type or even architectural wonders. And there are malls that are fully air-conditioned( yeah, shops can be found inside the building) and with big open spaces inside that one can literally live there and spend his or her free time wandering around just window shopping or yet having a dine at a restaurant inside while watching people go about their ways.

Some of the biggest buildings in the world are filled with retail shops and entertainment centers. And these building are what we called as shopping malls. These malls are ultimate shopping, dining and entertainment centers.

What should be known is that the list is based on gross leasable area.

The Dubai Mall should be considered the largest mall in the world based on total land area.

The SM City North Edsa, SM Mall of Asia and SM Megamall are among the giant malls in the Philippines. The SM City North Edsa is even considered the second largest based on gross leasable area. However, when total land area is taken into consideration. It would be surpassed by Dubai Mall, New South China Mall, West Edmonton Mall, Central World Thailand and Berjaya Times Square Kuala Lumpur, respectively.

There are other largest shopping malls in the world that are noteworthy and should be given recognition. Among these is Mall of America, which is the most visited shopping mall in the world and, if it is included in the list, is placed on the top 14th.

Siam Paragon in Thailand is the 11th largest mall in the world and is even larger than that of SM City North Edsa in total land area. The former has a total land area of 500,000 sq. m. while the latter has 460,000 sq. m.

Meanwhile, King of Prussia in Pennsylvania is the 13th largest in the world, the largest mall in USA and the second largest in North America.

The top 12th largest mall in the world is in the Philippines again. This time, it is just a few kilometer ride from my residence. SM City Cebu boasts itself as among the largest malls. It is really large. However, SM City Cebu rivals Ayala Center Cebu when it comes to aesthetics and attraction.

Some of the best and largest shopping malls in the world are just in my homestead and most of them are in Asia.

Making a Transition!

I am still testing the look of this blog. There may be a lot of transitions happening in this blog like new posts, new ad display and other updates. One of the transitions that is happening on this blog as of this writing is that I changed the blog address from http://bjorntop10biz.blogspot.com to http://bjorntop10biz.bjornbern.com.

I am counting three days from 9/24/06 to 9/27/09 for the transition to complete.

Yes, I am buying custom domain for the first time. Yehey! I already have my own domain name.

And I purchased it through Google.

So, if you experience or see any errors from this blog, that means the work in progress for transition is still going on.

This is a new blog so I don't really expect a lot of traffic yet but hopefully I can get more page views in a day soon.

The inconvenience for this blog does not really affect a lot of people because it is still a new blog.

T10 reasons for looking and creating WEALTH ONLINE

I know many individuals are looking for ways to create wealth online or in a more cliche phrase: MAKE MONEY ONLINE. Looking for a job, doing biz or creating money online has different reasons and these are:

(Note: when I use the word "we" here, I did not intend to generalize)

1) We want to manage time and time can be more manageable when there is less legwork, reduced workload and versatile working hours.

2) Doing the offline 8-5 or 9-5, 40 hour-work in a week is taxing so we opt for less stressful, more flexible working hours working at home while still earning money

3) We want to choose how much we want to earn and that could lead us to working more hours online if we want to earn more. But when there is a satisfaction of the income currently streaming, checking the online biz site or blog for just two hours doing updates and answering emails would just do the work and then we can do the things that we like for the remaining hours of the day and night.

4) We want to enjoy what other people who have been successful online have been doing now. They are carefree, less stressful and inspirational.

5) We are looking for our retirement and some of us want to retire early so we choose to do business online. However, doing biz online would still require hard work if wanting to create residual income stream for the remaining months and years. But still ,when we think our business plan is feasible and that there is a strong conviction about the internet as a goldmine, we would still go for it... doing biz online, no matter what.

6) We want to attain a career-life balance.

7) We want other people to speculate of our earnings when they see new house,new tech gadgets, new cars parked in the garage, new everything.

Neighbors and friends may be speculating of your fortune, saying something like, "I only see you everyday just doing your thing at home or traveling wherever you like. Where did you get your money."

Other people might reconsider the notion just seeing your fortune as inheritance money while other sets of individuals(especially, the neighbors) who know about your background, from being broke to classy, will have bad ideas about your fortune. When you come to that point, will you spill the beans or not? Or will you just let them get envious more?

8) In other words, we want to be the object of envy or should I say, objects of envy. Now that is bad. Or is it?

9) We want to just enjoy the remaining days of our lives just doing less while earning more and so we think doing biz or working at home through online means will do the possibility. In short, we want to create passive income online.

Make Money Online- The Quest

Two years ago, my workmate introduced me to the world of blogging. Five of my new workmates have their own blogs while two of them have already earned money from their blogs. So, I wondered... "Is it possible to make money from blogging? Is there something to sell to earn just a few dollars that might eventually became hundreds and thousands?"

And so, I thought, mmmm... okay, show me your blog!

It was like saying, show me your money( even though I did not see any)

So, one of my workmates who was so friendly to me, took me to her blog( yeah, she is a lady). She let me see her account and her statistics and then I came to ponder on. Really now...

Okay...

"Can you help me create a blog?" Oh, before that, I asked her: "do I have to spend money?"

Well, she said "no, of course" and then I said, "tell me and show me how to do it".

But because it was working time, I let her do the work of creating the account at Blogger to creating an Adsense account (lucky me!)

After that, during our break time, she showed me the blog and gave me the UN and PW.

She told me to post some articles on the blog which I did for one month. My first month blog is Cebu Living which I now changed to Bjorn's Living in Cebu.

I have made new posts on the blog but the posting is not regular. (My last post on the blog was on 2008).

Eventually this year, I stumbled upon a blog about money-making doing blogging. I read about a blog Entrepreneurs Journey. I read about the author's lifestyle from his blogging beginning to what is he is and has now. Just by reading one article of his blog, I was already convinced to continue blogging. ( Procrastination is my disease and I am gradually finding a way to cure it, actually I have found it.)

I have also read a blog of John Chow . And on his blog, I have come across a way to make money online by reading his e-book. Yes, John Chow is so generous that he gave his fortune secrets by giving out his e-book for free. You may have to visit his site, if you want to download a copy.

As I am writing this post, I am thinking of other ways to create a system that really works for me. That is why, I have tagged "The Quest" on the post title because I want to convey to the reader that this is not a post for making money by doing blogging. I might come to that point. But right now, I am still doing things so I can make my own system for successful money-making venture online.

Here are my top 10 lists for things that I have been doing to create a fortune through online means:

1) Reading several blogs about money making opportunities.

2) Reading forum posts to search for fresh ideas about online biz opportunities.

3) Purchasing a package data entry online package online so I can have cash as investment for the my own web hosted blogs and sites.( Hopefully, this is not a scam)

4) Searching for sites and forum sites about scams and other sites considered to be scams.

5) Signing up to get-paid-to-view-website sites( I have signed up for three and one of them is Clixsense)

6) Signing up to Max Invest.The best internet investment, Earn a XXX% daily profit!

7) I have also signed up to online casino and downloaded a software but I halt that move because...

8) I have signed up for Ebay, Twitter, Paypal and Alert Pay

9) I have also signed up for dealdotcom.com

10) I have made a new blog ( make that two).

I have made those on the list but I know there are still more to do.

I would like to experience passive income. I know residual income can be possible when you invest in real estate ( when you opt to lease your properties instead of selling them outright).

But I have this intuition that making passive income online is a near possibility.

Hope for more of this kind of post as this is just the commencement of my quest for making money online.

Laptops and notebooks are considered very essential nowadays especially when you want to be mobile and you need to look over your online biz wherever you are in the world( as long as there is a fast internet connection).

Welcome!

This blog is created to feature the different products and services online on the Top list. The list is just restricted up to 10. But how about certain categories where the list does not reach to 10?

Well, I will just list the top products/services up to 10 on the list as long as it is not beyond ten. I mean 10, got it?

The T10 list is not just restricted for products and services sold online. I may have to include some lists sourced from offline data. Other categories will also be integrated.

Now, this blog is not just for listing.

1) I will also have to include my items here! Yes! You read it. I will have to sell some items here. I have my ebay account but so far I have not thought of selling some of my items there( hopefully soon!)

2) I will also integrate affiliate marketing and advertising here!

3) Free classified ads can also be posted here. If you wish something to be posted here such as job listings, products and services, just give me a mail( jorn23borj@gmail.com) and we'll work on something together ( as in business partnership) as long as we come into accord.

4) From time to time, I will post something personal here, like opinions, comments and reviews about certain products and services and even issues that may matter to you.

5) I have some other ideas to integrate on this blog site. I wish to have my own websites, I mean capital WEBSITES( and hosted blog sites with my own domain names) soon! I will give you updates on that when that happens but right now, I'll just settle for what it is free. (Yeah! Blogger is free for those who would like to have a blog and for those who can't afford yet for domain names and web hosting to launch their own blogs.)
