So, dear readers, below is a video about women's butts! How about that?! How do you like me now?

In the following clip, Entertainment Weekly's Dalton Ross waxes philosophical (that's the generous term for what he's doing here) about "The Five Least-Subtle Tributes to Women's Derrieres," featuring music videos that honor the female ass. While Sir Mix-a-Lot's #1 hit single, "Baby Got Back," is an obvious pick, there are plenty of others meant to boost booty pride. Watch:

Can we talk about Hollywood and race for a moment? Please? If you haven't yet heard about the proposed "whitewashed" version of the quintessentially Japanese manga/anime, Akira, instantly increase your sociopolitical sophistication by watching my video monologue now:

Dance to This: "Cooler Than Me" by Mike Posner

Speaking of Mike Posner, the music video for "Cooler Than Me" features eyeglasses as metaphors for drug-induced trips. But, if I'm reading too much into things, then eyeglasses are just eyeglasses. Which is kind of boring. Especially since I wear glasses and I like to think that they skew my perception of the world. (I mean, isn't it empowering to go around thinking, "I am so better than you"?)

Anyway, "Cooler Than Me" is the first single from Posner's 2010 full-length debut album, 31 Minutes to Takeoff, a compulsively listenable dance track that I never want to dance to in public because my superior attitude would be crushed in an instant, under the weight of my two left feet.

Anyway, listen:

The Hottest Brazilian of 2010 (Because You Asked)

I have no affiliation with Brazil except for these three facts:

The brutally entertaining Rio de Janeiro crime movie, City of God, made me feel like I was trapped in a cocaine-induced nightmare.

I have joked repeatedly in that past that I will someday write a play titled Brazilian Soccer Team Locker Room because the auditions for that show would be the BEST AUDITIONS EVER.

I keep trying to devise ways of getting my hot Brazilian house painter to take off his shirt.

Perhaps it's the latter two items that prompted a friend of mine (thanks, Rob F.! - perv!) to send me a link to the Made in Brazil blog, which recently announced - with a certain amount of conviction, I might add - The Hottest Brazilian of 2010. His name is Mateus Verdelho. And goddamn - look at that picture - I ain't gonna argue!

Dance to This: "Driving Me Crazy" by Sam Adams (with a Little Help from Annie Lennox)

The thought of going out to a dance club makes me want to throw up into my hands, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy cutting a rug in the comfort of my living room when I'm home alone and in need of something to do that will temporarily alleviate the pain of existence.

So I don't know what kinds of tunes DJs are spinning in clubs nowadays, gay or otherwise. But I hope Sam Adams's "Driving Me Crazy" was on heavy rotation this past year. It's an infectious dance/hip-hop hybrid that features a college soccer captain-turned-rapper who had the fortunate audacity to sample Annie Lennox's "Walking on Broken Glass" with sublime results. And there's something kind of hot about straight guys listening to iconic gay divas and liking them enough to create a sort of artistic mind-meld with them.

A couple years ago, I wrote about how my tradition of buying Zac Efron calendars was under review because there were entrepreneurs pervy enough to mass-produce calendars featuring nothing but hot Asian guys and hot Mormon dudes (though, oddly, not at the same time - where all the Asian Mormons at?! - holla!).

As I contemplate the new year and what shall grace my bare wall, I will once again consider the Asian Men Redefined calendar and its hunky models. They make a big deal about how proceeds will benefit the Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center, but I'm shallow enough to only care about the quality of monthly shirtless guys. (Man, they don't know their target audience, do they?)

Robbie Williams + Gary Barlow + "Brokeback Mountain" = "Shame"

Even though he's (probably) straight, UK music superstar Robbie Williams loves to mess around with the media when it comes to his sexuality. He says suggestive, gay-ish things in print and in song, part of an elaborate public ruse--to what end, I'm not sure. But it's just enough to give me a faint glimmer of hope, a late-night fantasy that has me mumbling to myself as I drift off to sleep, "Someday you will be mine, Robbie Williams. Someday you will be mine."

To stoke my imagination even further, Williams recently teamed up with former Take That (an early-90s UK boy band) bandmate Gary Barlow for a song and music video titled "Shame," a Brokeback Mountain-inspired man-on-man love story.

Another Classic Headline

Giving that sumo wrestler/Snickers bar headline a run for its money, Reuters makes (intentionally?) funny use of two athletes' evocative names:

The rather innocent article is here.

As for the implications of this headline, I think it's pretty accurate. I mean, haven't you ever bowed down to "dix," despite being exhausted? You can't get too much of a good thing!

The Homosexual Menace

In the vein of those unintentionally funny educational videos of the 1950s, The Homosexual Menace is an intentionally funny take on gay panic. This short cartoon mocks stereotypes with queer-filled glee, as well as creates absurd new ones.

How Much Stuff Can You Sneak Inside Your Man Hole?

Sometimes these posts really just write themselves. So I'm just going to cut and paste this Associated Press report:

Jail Officers Astonished by Inmate's Contraband

WENATCHEE, Wash. - Police in Wenatchee are surprised at the amount of contraband an inmate was able to smuggle into the jail rectally. The Wenatchee World said the man internally carried a cigarette lighter, rolling papers, a baggie of tobacco the size of a golf ball, a smaller baggie of marijuana, a 1-inch smoking pipe, a bottle of tattoo ink and eight tattoo needles.
