The good news is that prices were up overnight and onto the Comex. The bad news is that I'm a dumdum and I messed up my X account this morning.

I woke up this morning and, in my grogginess, clicked an email link from X that appeared legitimate. I'm now locked out of my account...an account that took 15 years to build...and this development has sent me into a tailspin.

It was another lousy day as higher interest rates...both nominal and real...weighed heavily upon the precious metal sector. And with the GDX closing below its 200-day MA for the first time in 16 months, there is growing concern that a trip down to, and possible of, the 200-day MAs in CDG and CDS may be forthcoming.

As mentioned in the Monday podcast, I'm celebrating the 28th birthday of LT#1 today. I'll be a little busy this morning so let's start the day with something I wrote yesterday.

What seems like a pivotal week begins today with some rather significant volatility coming out of the Sunday evening and overnight. Is this just a precursor for greater volatility to come? It seems that the period of complacency regarding the Iran War and global energy/inflation shock is coming to an end as interest rates surge and "liquidity" begins to evaporate. Is this the start of "the big plunge" or will the Fed/Treasury, BoJ, BoE, ECB et al act in concert and attempt to halt the selling?

But it's still early in the process. US stonks are only down slightly more...

We've had a few all green boards this week so that sort of eases the pain and frustration of seeing an all red board today. Sort of. Whether it's the lack of tariff news out of the Trump/Xi summit or just simply a risk off day remains to be seen...but what you can't help but see is an entirely red commodity board, with even crude down today, too.
