The show is currently looking for audience members to join the Sydney studio with the offer of free drinks and bar snacks. So far eight shows have been scheduled for filming with the expectation of this increasing if the show proves successful.

The object of the show is the lie about a particular subject whilst trying to include elements of truth without being detected. It is then the opposing teams objective to buzz in when they detect the truth being told, then identify what truthful element has been told.

To be in the audience of the show you must be 16 years of age or older with arrival time at 5:00pm for pre-show drinks, recording starts at 6:00pm with a finish time of approximately 8:30pm.

The Nine Network came to ZSPACE wanting a complete refresh of the Today brand in 2012 with a bold new look that would be warm, inviting and modern. It was stipulated that the colours of the on air presentation needed to match the sunny personalities of the presenters on the Today Show.

Senior Designer Leigh Newman worked with the news and current affairs team at Nine to create a look for Today, the set was designed by ZSPACE Executive Creative Director, Jean-Christophe Danoy, with Mark Dyson. Jean-Christophe used his television experience to ensure camera angles; furniture and layout create an intimacy between the presenters and provide a seamless connection with viewers.

“Having the set and graphics designed by the same company ensures integrated marketing of the brand. With Today the set works in conjunction with the whole broadcast bringing a sense of harmony,” said Jean-Christophe.

The breakfast television war is about to intensify further shortly with the introduction of ‘Breakfast’ on Network Ten to compete with Today, Sunrise and ABC News Breakfast.

For added convenience, users will be able to create a shopping list of ingredients for the recipes they choose ready when they go grocery shopping. The app also offers a cooking timer and a reminder to alert viewers when the show is about to start on Seven.

As well as being simulcast on ABCTV through ABC1 and ABC News 24, Q&A will also be shown on the Australia Network in the Asia/Pacific region on Monday nights giving an international audience an exposure to Australia politics. Additionally the programme will continue to also be simulcast on ABC News Radio.

The first show for 2012 will feature Federal Finance Minister Penny Wong, Shadow Treasurer Joe Hockey, Economist Judith Sloan, Director of Centre for policy Development Miriam Lyons and News Limited Columnist Joe Hildebrand.

Rebecca Gibney and Erik Thomson lead an all star cast, additionally in 2012 they are joined by Cameron Daddo and Brooke Satchwell, as the drama of the Rafter family’s daily lives return with a wedding, new romances and of course family drama after family drama.

Cameron Daddo will make his return to Australian TV screens as newspaper editor Adam Goodman with Satchwell heating things up as new Rafter Electrical employee Frankie Calasso, who causes some major “sparks” with Coby (Ryan Corr). Also joining the cast this year are Jacob Allen as Dave’s brother Matt Jennings, and Samantha Tolj as Sian Parry, a new love interest.

This year the Rafter family will face increased competition with the Nine Network set to premier their own “lovable family drama” starring Shane Borne, Tricky Business. With the strength of the Rafters brand rest assured they won’t be going anywhere anytime soon.

The series will pick up a year on from Melissa’s death, Ben played by Hugh Sheridan decides to move forward with his friendship with Emma (Zoe Cramond). Meanwhile continuing off where season four left, Carbo (George Houvardas) and Retta (Hannah Marshall) find their “secret wedding” a difficult secret to keep. With his parents arriving home to organise a big Greek wedding, they might be forced to go through with another wedding ceremony to please the family.

Nathan (Angus McLaren) finds himself at a crossroads, with a stalled career and no love on the horizon; Ted (Michael Caton) faces a major health scare, which will bring the family closer together. Jake (James Stewart), still missing Rachel (Jessica Marais), faces more drama, as his father re-appears.

Pack to the Rafters returns, Tuesday 14 February at 8:30pm on the Seven Network.

With the increasing popularity of online sports betting, television networks have been cashing in on sponsorship deals with leading betting agencies promoting live betting odds during the course of play.

The Nine Network displays betting odds during its NRL coverage and will again in its up and coming coverage of the summer Cricket series. The network also has sponsorship arrangements with betting agencies during both NRL and AFL Footy Show’s. The proposal could still see those sponsorship arrangements stay in place, however odds can only be shown at half time, not during play.

The discussion paper comes a day after the Melbourne Cup, Australia’s biggest day of betting, but the paper recommends that a blanket ban approach is not the right answer with thoroughbred, harness and greyhound racing to be exempt from any legislation introduced.

If any of these recommendations were adopted it would mean that Seven [and other networks during race meets] could still broadcast all the betting odds as it currently does, usually from the Victorian, NSW and Queensland TAB’s as well as live crosses to the betting ring.
