Giving Away Games on March 16th, 2012

I didn't realize I was violating community rules, so many rules... I have apologized to the powers that be at Board Game Geek for the way in which I was giving away games.

Anyways, on March 16th, 2012, I will be randomly be determining people from the Tasty Minstrel Games email list as winners. There will be 8 winners and I am giving away 8 games.

The games are:

Power Struggle
Yinsh
Hansa
Sun, Sea, and Sand
Niagara

Since I do not want to change the method of entering, I have moved this off of Board Game Geek. The problem is that people will now not be able to browse the site and find it. So, it would be great if you could let you friends know about this in any way possible.

Send me a 2-page letter telling me why you will be great for the desired position. Please include at the top of the letter your name, email address, phone number, and your 3-5 favorite physical games.

The particular positions and responsibilities are described below...

Project Manager - will be responsible for managing our production schedule, timelines, milestones, and communication with vendors and providers. The project manager will handle this for our physical games and apps.

Art Director - will be responsible for the creation of art assets, modification of existing assets for additional uses, coordinating art creation, and designing user interfaces.

iOS Code Writer - will be responsible for writing the code that will power the apps. It is important to write code that works and code that can be reused across multiple apps.

Marketing Manager - will be responsible for creating copy platforms, copywriting, media discovery and testing, social communications (Twitter / Facebook / Email), and growing sales.

Eventually, all positions will be full-time and on site in Tucson, Arizona. That being said, for the right people and at first, work will be telecommuting and part-time or on a project basis.

Twitter Contest For Belfort

As most of you know, Belfort has been a VERY well received game. The first print run is sold out with more coming on the way. Right now, I think I have 6 copies in the warehouse that I am holding onto for one reason or another.

You have a chance to win one of those copies in this Twitter contest. You can enter once a day, including Friday. Winners will be announced on Monday February 20th, since I will be at OrcCon this weekend.

Toys for Tots drive

For immediate release.

Tasty Minstrel Games is sponsoring a toy drive for Toys for Tots. For every 1,000 people that "like" the Tasty Minstrel Games page on Facebook the will donate $500 worth of games up to a maximum of $5,000 of games.

The toy drive for Toys for Tots will run through October 10th, 2011. Donations will be made based on thresholds of 1,000 Facebook page "likes" up to a maximum of 10,000 "likes". Thus, the donation thresholds are:

1,000 Likes = $500 game donation
2,000 Likes = $1,000 game donation
3,000 Likes = $1,500 game donation
4,000 Likes = $2,000 game donation
5,000 Likes = $2,500 game donation
6,000 Likes = $3,000 game donation
7,000 Likes = $3,500 game donation
8,000 Likes = $4,000 game donation
9,000 Likes = $4,500 game donation
10,000 Likes = $5,000 game donation

Tasty Minstrel Games is a board game publisher based out of Tucson, Arizona.

Toys for Tots was started in 1947 by a group of Marine Reservists. The mission of the U. S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Program is to collect new, unwrapped toys during October, November and December each year, and distribute those toys as Christmas gifts to needy children in the community in which the campaign is conducted.

I have been working on the new website over the past week or so, and it is ready for public display an use. Over the next week I will start migrating all further website information over from the old tastyminstrelgames.com to the new playtmg.com.
