Crafting Bee

The Crafting Bee is a group that provides a time and place for women of the Mercy House to foster community through conversation and crafts. The group is place where relationships can be formed that eventually can lead to opportunities for women to share what they’re going through and build each other up. If you would like to join you may work on any craft you would like: sewing, crochet, scrap-booking, quilting etc. Simply gather your materials and bring them to work on. It meets Wednesdays, 7:30 p.m in the Coffee Bar. If you are interested e-mail Mandy at ajcoplin@anderson.edu to hear more about it.

Work Day

Our last work day went great; we were able to get a lot of needed work done in the front yard of our property. There will be a 2nd Mercy House work day hosted by the Maintenance Team on Saturday April 25th. Join us starting at 9 AM with whatever outdoor/landscaping tools you may have so that we might clean up the back of our property: around the fences, parking lot & playground. We'd appreciate any help you can offer for our 2nd outdoor work day

MLK Jr. Concert

On Monday, January 19th, there will be a concert at the Mercy House brought to you by Stereo Subversion. We invite you to this 4 band line up, including:

Cool Hand Luke, Lujo Records
My Epic, Facedown Records
with Special Guests: Ferguson & Rodeo Ruby Love

The doors open at 6:30pm, show starts at 7pm. The cost is $7.

STAR

As the STAR program starts back up this semester, the program will return on Thursday's from 4-6 p.m. Like any healthy endeavor, you need to be willing to readjust and fine tune as you begin to understand something more. We believe this time and date should work better with the Anderson school system and how half days are timed, making the program more accessible to children in our community. We invite you to be apart of this endeavor, as many of our volunteers have not been able to follow us to Thursdays. Ultimate Game Night

We had so much fun at the White Elephant gift exchange, why wait another year to have so much fun again?!?! The Welcome Team is hosting a game night Feb 7th, at 7PM. There will be Rock Band, Euchre and MORE! Drinks will be provided, if people could bring a snack, that would be great.

Shadeland Bicycle Collective

Shadeland Bicycle Collective (SBC) is a new initiative organized by Ben Orcutt, Anderson University student, operating out of The Mercy House. This past Wednesday, SBC partnered with the STAR Program for its first Wednesday afternoon to provide a bicycle workshop. The Herald Bulletin covered the event and published an article Oct. 1.

White Elephant Gift Exchange

This will be our 2nd annual Mercy House White Elephant Gift Exchange! It will take place Saturday, December 13 in the coffee bar. The event starts at 7PM. Each guest is asked to bring a wrapped gift, and each guest will walk away with a gift from the exchange. Drinks will be provided but please bring your favorite Christmas treat! Yum!

Silent Auction

THIS SUNDAY is the silent auction at The Mercy House. Items will be on display if you want to come early before church, but we'll also have a time of live music, refreshments, and mingling from 11:30 to 12:30, where you can peruse the art and gifts up for bid. (Great door prizes too, so plan to stick around and at least win something!) If you'd like to bid, please bring cash or checks and you may take purchased items with you that day.

STAR Program

Shadeland Tutoring And Recreation (STAR) our after school program, takes place on Wednesdays!! Thank you to all the people supporting this endeavor. It is such a great way to get involved with The Mercy House Kids' Ministry. STAR will take place in the Mercy House gymnasium on Weds. from 3:30-5pm.

Sunday, September 14th, is the grand opening of Shadeland Thrift. This will be a great time to connect with other people in our community and support this exciting new endeavor.
