I think faith is not ignorance; rather fear is ignorance. If you want to be “aware” of everything, you will probably lose your mind.

God did not make us to be superhuman scientists. Why? How long do you plan to live? Where do you plan to go when you die?

Whether you choose to accept Him or not, God is all around you. You can turn your face from him, but he will always be there. But, I can tell you, you live in a miserable place, and I do not.

Do I mean that I never experience pain or sorrow? No, but I know that when I do, I have one who is strong that can help me. I trust in Him.

Nothing to be sorry about, Tim. The Master Plan isn’t about Aron Campisano, it’s about Kristi Love, so this is beyond the themes of the film.

However, I don’t have a relationship with “God” because I find it self-evident that “God” is an imaginary idea that only serves to fill gaps in our understanding of reality. As Carl Jung might say, our knowledge void naturally fills with myth.

People tend to default to a belief in “God” because of overwhelming familial and social pressures placed upon them at a very young age. Simply put, if no one had told you about God, the idea would have never occurred to you. You believe it simply because others do.

Further, the “feelings” many claim to originate from “God” are quite obviously internal emotional states.

Imaginary beings do not make choices for me, and they do not shoulder my burdens any more than Minotaurs drive my car or Zeus edits my movies.

My feelings on the matter are not resentment. I do not resent Bigfoot, Nessie or Thor, either.

I do fear the glorification of human ignorance, however, and “faith”, by any other name, would be exactly that. Ignorance.

It’s important to understand that Atheists like me, and Theists like you, experience the world in exactly the same way. I’m a human being, like you, and I often have emotional and transcendent “religious experiences”, but I also have the courage not to deny obvious truths about the world.

I am sorry, sometimes I get out of control. Tell me though Aron, is the reason you do not claim yourself to be a Christian because you do not want to have a relationship with God? One in which you allow Him to make choices for you? To take your burdens upon his shoulders? Or is there something that you have found in the Catholic or Christian faith that has made you resent it?

Apparently it does not matter what you think, because if the owner of this site does not like your comment, he will delete it.

A warning to all Christians attempting to watch this film. It is not a Christian film, but rather a bad example of evangelical Christianity.

My life was changed for the better, and Jesus has transformed my life. If you cannot handle that truth, then feel free to once again delete my comment Aron Campisano.

All I can say is, this is a true picture of the struggle of the soul. I was once much like this girl, grew up in a Christian home, then went my own way with the booze and cigarettes as well. And then, like she did, I chose to say “yes” to God, instead of running away. Thank you for making this film. God truly does love us.

Fabulous film! I live in Evangelical Christian ‘Heaven’ and your take on this demographic is pretty accurate. She seems very trapped in her faith and it’s not enabling her to become her fully developed self. The grandfather character is cool because he enables her to develop a critical mind OUTSIDE of Fundamentalist Christianity.
