The Amazing Race Tonight

So tonight's episode of the Amazing Race was the last for Grandparents Cathi and Bill. They were the oldest team in the race and they almost made it to the end. They did an amazing job, outlasting many of the younger teams. They were one of my favorites and I am sorry to see them leave. Now, I will be rooting for the snowboarders to win the race.

I visited http://www.directstartv.com/ and upgraded our television package. I honestly really wish that I hadn’t because my husband loves it so much. Now he makes us watch football all of the time because he got all of the sports channels. I got them for his birthday, and it is one gift that he definitely loves. I can’t blame him though, I have things that I love to watch on television, but sports is definitely not it. I will watch some college football, but I really don’t like to watch professional football. I guess I just don’t really understand the rules and know that the game is going to last forever and cut into my prime television time. He likes for me to hang out with him always, so I usually get stuck watching football. I’m glad he got a gift that he loved, but I shouldn’t have gotten every sports game on television that’s for sure! Maybe I should upgrade my end of the program and get more channels like the E! network and make him watch them. That would surely drive him nuts!

Reality Show Addiction

So I've started watching more reality shows on cable, and I think I have a problem... I'm addicted to Gold Rush and Extreme Couponing. And while watching these shows, I see commercials for other reality shows that I want to watch, but am afraid to, for fear of becoming addicted to those too.

The commercials were for Storage Wars, Moon Shiners and Weed Wars. I think Storage Wars looks pretty interesting, but I don't even want to start watching any of them because I already watch too much television as it is.

Is there an "Addicted to Reality Show" - aholics group out there? Because I might have to join soon.

New Favorite Show of the Summer

So my new favorite show this summer is ABC's "Take the Money and Run". The first few minutes of the show, where the contestants have to hide the briefcase full of $100,000, gets my adrenaline pumping and sets the pace for the entire show. It's exciting to see how and where the people hide the money, in the hopes that the "Detectives" won't find it. And the way the interrogators poke and prod their way to find out where the briefcase is hidden amazes me. If you haven't seen this show, you should definitely check it out.

Take the Money and Run airs on ABC, Tuesday nights.

Rise of the Planet of the Apes vs. The Change-Up

My pick...

The Change-Up starring Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman. A comedy about 2 men with different lifestyles trading places. Seems like there have been plenty of variations of this movie made, but I think Jason Bateman is a good comedic actor, and that's one reason I pick this movie over Apes... Plus is also stars Olivia Wilde (from Tron: Legacy).

The Change-Up is rated R.

Tonight's Big Brother will include the Power of Veto competition to see if Brendon or Rachel will be able to remove themselves from possible eviction. I really hope they don't win because I really want to see one of them leave... Preferably Rachel.

If Brendan wins the POV, I wouldn't be surprised if he gave it to Rachel to save herself instead of saving his own butt. That's how stupid he is, he would totally do something like that.

Mentalist DVD Season 3

So I guess Danielle is back to playing BB by herself. She'd better win the HOH this week if she wants to get the other vets out of the house. As Dominic said, the other non-vets are floaters who don't have the spines to go against Jeff & Jordan and Brandon & Rachel.

I think tonight's HOH competition, "Slalom", is pretty much anyone's game. However, I don't think Brandon is very good at the endurance competitions, so maybe the power will shift this week.

BTW, did anyone else notice at the beginning of the HOH competition, the 3 "manly men", i.e., Jeff, Brandon, and Adam, all had "limp" ski's. Just thought I'd throw that out there ;-)

I can't believe Danielle almost got Rachel to put Jeff and Jordan up for eviction tonight. Danielle is going to be pissed off this week if everyone ends up voting Dominic out of the house.

At lease my favorites, Jeff and Jordan are safe this week, no thanks to Danielle. If she doesn't win HOH on Thursday, she might be going home next week. But there is a twist coming up that might end up working to her advantage. I certainly hope it's not Evil Dick coming back into the house. That would totally screw things up for Jeff and Jordan, and Brendan and Rachel (even though I don't care if Brachel leave the house, they are getting on my nerves).

I can’t wait for Dexter to start back! It comes on Showtime and I’ve been watching it for all five seasons now and I’m completely and totally addicted. It’s just one of the best shows out there for the money and it’s definitely the only reason I pay extra to get Showtime! I got satellite from www.DIRECT.tv last year and I knew I was missing something when I caught an episode of Dexter at a friend’s. I immediately upgraded my service and now I get to watch it every Sunday when it airs. I spend a lot of time online talking to other fans and getting on the message boards and stuff which is cool because we can talk about what we think is going to happen or where to get the newest DVDs and things like that. There’s been a lot of real-life drama when it came to the main characters’ personal lives in the off-season so we spend a lot of time gossiping about that, as well!

What is going on with the Heroes? They started off so good, and now they can't seem to win anything.

Tonight Tom was voted out, even after James hurt his leg and claimed he could still outperform Tom.

And of course, Russell found the hidden immunity idol and everyone knows it. So it appears that he might be on his way out, but we'll see...

The next episode of Survivor airs in 2 weeks on Wednesday.

I just saw a trailer for the new Tron movie coming out this December and it looks really cool. I love the original Tron with Jeff Bridges and Bruce Boxleitner, and I'm glad to see that they will be in this movie too. I can't wait to see it!

Jordan and Caite get lost on the Metro... Who didn't see that coming??? Don't get me wrong I love Jeff and Jordon, but having the 2 blonds race together to find the road block... Not a good idea.

And that detour. I could have eaten that sourkraut all by myself. Mmmm Mmmm good!

Jeff & Jordan ended up coming in last, due to a crappy cab driver who doesn't know how to use a GPS. However, it was a non-elimination so they are still in the race.

Survivor - Who Was Voted Out?

Tonight's Survivor ended badly for Cirie. She was blind sided by JT when he voted her out instead of going with his alliance and voting Tom or Colby. Their plan was to vote for both Tom and Colby to get Tom to play the hidden immunity idol.

Meanwhile the villains continued their winning streak, winning both reward and immunity. Their tribe still hasn't found their hidden immunity idol. However, next week's preview showed Russell going out to search for it. Whether he finds it or not, I'm sure his tribe will be eager to vote him out. He is a dangerous player to keep in the game, and they are finally coming to realize that.

Not much on TV tonight

A bit of a slow night tonight, not much on television. But then again, Wednesdays are usually boring TV nights for me. Thursday is the where the best of the best comes on.

Survivor, Vampire Diaries, The Mentalist, Parks and Recreation, 30 Rock, and now the newest addition, The Marriage Ref. I watched the first episode after the closing ceremony of the Olympics, it was okay (the closing ceremony was better).

Not all the above shows are playing tomorrow night, luckily, because usually on Thursdays my VCR really gets a workout taping all my favorite shows. Yes, I said VCR. I have not made into the 21st century with all its fancy technologies like DVR's and TIVO's. I'm lucky I even have internet.

Maybe I'll try watching The Modern Family. I haven't seen that yet, and since there isn't much else on, I might find it fun to watch.

Survivor is back tonight and it's Heroes vs. Villains. I can't wait to see some of my favorite Survivors, including Rupert, Stephanie, James, & JT. I'm not too thrilled about some of the others, Jerri, Coach, and Parvati. I'm a little split on whether I like or dislike Boston Rob and Russell, the self-proclaimed "Best Survivor Player ever."

No matter who I like or dislike, I know I will enjoy this season of Survivor, just like all the others.
