The Key Fact Sheet - a tool for promoting your table quiz

Usually, you cannot do much to promote a table quiz - or any other event - until the most important details have been organized. This includes where, when, why, how much etc.

A Key Fact Sheet is a tool you can use to organize this information.

It has prompts for the critical information, and is a place to record the agreed text for press-releases etc.

It may be particularly useful if you are doing the promotional work for someone else's event: you can use it as the agreed source of information.

You can download a blank Key Fact Sheet at the bottom of this post - and you are welcome to adapt it for your own use.

What does a Key Fact Sheet contain

Each event has different needs, but a good starting point for the key facts includes

This is a set of table-quiz answer sheets, pre-numbered for Round 1, Round 2, etc through to Round 10.

There are exactly ten pages in each file - but of course you can print out less than ten pages if your table-quiz has less than ten rounds.

Give each team exactly one page for each round

If you want to change the number of questions, cater for multi-part questions or add your own logo, quiz or charity information, then it may be better to use the non-numbered version, which you can change before making additional copies with round numbers.

Also, in case a team loses a page, spills a drink over it, etc, it is a good idea to have some spare non-round-numbered forms on hand.

You are welcome to personalize this answer sheet. Things you might change include:

Logo / brand / charity information

The empty answer sheet has a title Quiz Answers, and a standard logo. Replace them with your own logo or name, and/or information about your organisation or the one that the quiz is begin run for.

Number and type of questions

If you have more than ten questions per round, use the MS Word version and add space for more answers

If you have less than ten questions per round, either change the form - or just ignore the extra spaces.

If you have multi-answer questions (eg "A) name the prime minister, and B) name the president"), you need to either change the form to reflect this - or just split them up into separate questions, so there is only supposed to be one answer on each line.

The form is made using Microsoft Word tables. In Word, you can add extra rows by highlighting the row, right-clicking and choosing "Add rows above" or "Insert rows below" (slightly different wording depending on the version you are using).
