Bling Blip Flops

It don't mean a thing...if it ain't got that BLING!!

Ok, I have to be honest when I first saw these flip flops - I stopped dead in my tracks AND I stopped the lady dead in her tracks too! She was so nice and even offered to let me try them on and take a picture. (I know... who would try on a stranger shoes) I could not resist. I was speechless! This photo can't even due justice to the shine that radiate off them...no joke.
She shared with me they came from a boutique in Branson, Mossouri. sigh- the hunt began....

So on the quest for these shoes, I learned of a company out of Texas named Gypsey Soule. Here a few pictures of their shoes. They are really pretty made with Swarski crystals and real cow hide
(leather ha-ha)

They are flashy not for everyone but I adore them! Now for the bad news...a girl can't touch these flip flops for under 300.00!! Ouch!!!
They even have this pair below for a whopping $1,750.00!!

Personally, I would be embarrassed to spend this kind of money for a PAIR OF FLIP FLOPS!

I know..I know... they are made with Swarkski crystal and cow hide, but there not diamonds!

After searching and searching I located the affordable "knock -off" brand for way under 100.00 and they have tons of styles to choose from not sacrificing quality!

If you own an iPad or iPhone then more than likely you are highly concerned about keeping everything wet away from your prized Apple possession.

Because everyone in the world knows that water and electronic devices do not mix, with most encounters usually resulting in a trashed device. Water damage is especially irritating because most insurance companies don’t even cover it, with the exception of the Worth Ave Group, if you get your iPad damaged then you’re probably screwed.
Well now there seems to be a solution to the problem of water damage with the Wet Electronic Tablet Emergency Kit from DRY-ALL. If you haven’t heard of DRY-ALL, they are a company that is already established with making a line of products that are made especially for drying out water damaged electronics. The Wet Electronic Tablet Emergency Kit uses a drying agent that is supposed to absorb all of the moisture, hence completely drying out your iPad or iPhone.
I know I have personally dropped a few phones into the swimming pool and urinal, and have had minimal success while trying to dry them out. I’ve used everything from sitting my devices in the sun, blow drying them out and even sitting them in rice, but nothing seems to really work. However, the DRY-ALL approach seems to be a good solution since their Blue Bead technology essentially absorbs the moisture directly from the air.
Now we haven’t personally tested out the Wet Electronic Tablet Emergency Kit from DRY-All, but the company brags that they have a 100% success rate when exactly following the directions. I know from personal experience that nothing is 100%, but the price for the kit runs about $40, which is much cheaper than buying another iPhone or iPad. However, I would personally spend the money on insurance from the Worth Ave Group before the water damage even occurs. But that’s just me…

The desktop iPad cradle was officially unveiled at CES 2011. Tips on Saving Your Battery Life for Your Devices.

So you love your iPad so much, your playing with it all the time – and it keeps running out of juice —what you need is a couple of tips to keep your battery running for as long as possible, and we’ve got them here.
Most of these tips are common sense and won’t be a surprise to the more geeky readers, but now you’ll have an article you can send to your less geek friends and relatives when they ask you how to improve their battery life. Read on for all the tips

Keep Your iDevice Out of the Sun
Whatever you do, don’t leave your iPhone or iPod sitting in a hot car—heat kills batteries faster than any other factor, and your device that used to keep a charge for hours will eventually barely hold a charge, and you’ll have to pay Apple to get it replaced. The same thing holds true for any really hot environment: try and store your device in a cool place.

Reduce the Screen Brightness

If you keep the screen at maximum brightness all the time, you’re wasting a lot of battery life—and the screens these days are so bright anyway that you don’t really need to, especially at night. Head into Settings -> Brightness & Wallpaper to adjust the default level of brightness, which you can probably keep as low as 30% most of the time.

Make Sure the Screen Locks Quickly

Even if you’ve adjusted the screen brightness, there’s still no substitute for having it turn off quickly when you’re not using it. Head into General -> Auto-Lock to set the screen lock to happen as quickly as your device will let you. This makes a big difference if you are always picking up your phone and putting it back into your pocket without turning the display off.

Use Airplane Mode When You Don’t Need Internet (iPad/iPhone)

If you’re busy spending the next 8 hours playing Angry Birds, there might not be a good reason to have internet access, so you can consider using Airplane Mode, which turns off both Wi-Fi and the regular wireless radio. Of course, this will prevent phone calls if you’re on an iPhone—but if you’re busy with Angry Birds you probably don’t want the interruption anyway.
The more important reason to use Airplane Mode is when you’re mobile in an area with a really spotty connection—because the iPhone or iPad will try to stay connected at all times, it’s going to be constantly searching for a connection, which can drain your battery. Head into Settings and flip the Airplane Mode switch right up at the top of the screen.

Use Wi-Fi Instead of 3G if Possible

According to Apple, the iPad will get 10 hours of battery life under regular use with Wi-Fi enabled, but will only get 9 hours using 3G—the iPhone gets 6 for 3G and 10 for Wi-Fi. Of course, if you’re heavily using the Wi-Fi, you’ll still be draining the battery—the point is under similar workloads, Wi-Fi is better than 3G for battery life.
You can enable Wi-Fi under Settings -> Wi-Fi, and then pick the network you’d like to connect to.

Reduce or Eliminate Mail & Calendar Checking

If you’ve got a bunch of email, calendar, or contact accounts configured, and they are all being checked and downloading email on a regular basis, you’ll be draining the battery an awful lot faster than you need to.
Head into Settings -> Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Fetch New Data and change the setting to the least frequent check possible. If you don’t use it often, you can just turn Push off entirely and then manually check when you need to.

Reduce or Eliminate Push Notifications

Do you really need notifications from Twitter or whatever other apps you’re running? You can turn these off one-by-one, or turn off Push entirely by heading into Settings -> Notifications, and save a bit of extra battery life since your device won’t be pulling in data for those applications anymore.

Reduce or Eliminate System Sounds

This one is probably a little silly, but if you really don’t care for the system sounds you can save a small amount of battery life by removing the sounds. A very, very small amount, most likely. Head into Settings -> General -> Sounds to change them.

Disable Location Services

If you don’t really need the location services, you can disable them to save some battery life. Head into Settings -> General and flip the Location Services setting to off.

Disable Bluetooth If You Don’t Need It

If you don’t use a Bluetooth headset or keyboard, you should keep the Bluetooth radio disabled to save some extra battery life. Head into Settings -> General -> Bluetooth to flip it on or off.

Read on to see if the G- mate carrier elevates what an iPad bag can be to a new level or joins the rest of them in the land of what-could-have-been.

The G-mate bag is functional and good looking and is MADE IN AMERICA.

It is not limited to iPad devices either it works for other tablets as well. So easy to use you don’t even have to risk taking it out of the case. Keeping your screen pristine! It has a built in Velcro tab tucked inside to keep your device from accidentally sliding out, while in transit in a horizontal position.

This clear panel feature lets you use your tablet without the hassle of getting it out of the case. Brilliant! Also it make it easy to sanitize, yet another bonus; a big plus for you moms. It provides protection from spills or accidental drops. I must note, that the clear panel when it lays against the tablet screen allow for some bubbles, this may drive some people crazy. It does not bug me, as I think the advantages far out weight this. When it’s dark I barely notice. It has innovated generous cut outs. Making charging or other adjustments a snap. Nice!

The other side of the bag has 2 utility pockets; a half size pocket with a cute zipper sleek pull fob, this pocket accommodates enough to carry your ear buds, charger, pen or maybe a lipstick or two. At the top of the bag is a deep envelope looking generous sized pocket lined with soft micro-fleece interior with snap fastener that fits perfectly for my apple wifi bluetooth keyboard. Hallelujah! (Note-make sure to turn your blue tooth off in transit as not to drain the batteries)

The tote has two portability options it comes with a side handle and the company includes an adjustable strap too allowing it to become a fashionable messenger bag. The strap attaches to two sturdy outside d-rings. The straps hardware easily clips on and off using a secure swivel hook clips. If there was one improvement I would like to see the side handle a little stronger perhaps by doubling up the material or rolling the side edges.

To take it up a notch I was thinking how to pimp this bag out and for those who want to make a bold statement, you could display a screensaver to enhance your bag look ie: favorite sports team, political message, advertising your business, slideshow, the skies the limit. In the future would like to see g-mate offer fashionable strap choices like zebra skin, polka dots etc.

The outside material is synthetic. I cleaned mine with a damp cloth. It would be nice if the manufactures could include recommended cleaning methods for this tote.

The case comes in 5 delicious colors and two styles, plain and faux crocodile.

Leaked on utube recently was this video showing a chinese manufacture which is what appears to be an iPad case that is in production for the April release.
Notice the case cut-outs, rumor has it that the next-generation tablet will have a camera, perhaps to enable video conferencing and SD card slot to name a few.
