Red Magic has been quietly expanding into new segments and they’ve made quite the impact with the Astra tablet. Now they’re back with a model dubbed Nubia Red Magic Tablet 5 Pro. It’s confirmed for a June launch, with a transparent design and flagship touch chip, as well as advanced cooling.

The device is promoted as a compact, but high performance machine, continuing in the same vein as the predecessors. There were more teasers around MWC 2026, so we knew this was coming. Red Magic promises a mix of industry first and in house gaming technologies, with a focus on display responsiveness, cooling and high end performance. Thermal management is a key focus here, as Red Magic has built a reputation around aggressive cooling.

The Tablet 5 Pro has PC-grade thermals, according to the company, upgraded heat dissippation and an advanced internal cooling setup. It’s supposed to maintain the stable frame rates during long gaming sessions. Red Magic confirmed a June launch and a transparent flat body design. It exposes some of the innards and RGB lighting. The company teases a high refresh rate gaming display, a flagship grade touch chip, plus the CUBE Sky Gaming engine.

The previous gen model, Gaming Tablet 3 Pro debuted globally as the Red Magic Astra and it packed a 9 inch OLED display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chip and a large battery. There’s also active cooling. No pricing yet, but I expect around 600 euros, maybe more.

Microsoft has officially unveiled its refreshed Surface lineup for business users, introducing the new Surface Laptop 13-inch, Surface Laptop 13.8-inch, Surface Laptop 15-inch and Surface Pro 13-inch. The new generation focuses heavily on AI-ready hardware, improved repairability and enterprise-grade security, while also bringing several quality-of-life upgrades for productivity users.

All four devices are powered by Intel’s latest Core Ultra Series 3 processors, although Snapdragon X2-powered variants are expected to arrive later this year for users seeking stronger battery life and local AI acceleration. Microsoft says the new hardware is designed to improve performance in demanding workloads such as content creation, data analysis and multitasking.

surface pro for business

The biggest changes land on the 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptop models. Both receive updated display options, including a new integrated privacy screen on select versions. Similar in concept to privacy-focused mobile implementations like those seen on Samsung’s flagship phones, the feature reduces viewing angles and can be activated instantly via software or managed remotely by IT administrators.

The 15-inch version also gets a higher-resolution panel, though it still relies on LCD technology for now. OLED variants are expected later this summer alongside commercial consumer-focused models.

Microsoft also redesigned the trackpad experience on the larger Surface Laptops. The new touchpads now support Windows 11 haptic feedback features, providing subtle tactile responses when snapping windows, dragging content or aligning interface elements. It’s a small upgrade on paper, but one clearly aimed at improving the premium feel of the devices.

Meanwhile, the smaller Surface Laptop 13-inch positions itself as an ultraportable option with Wi-Fi 7 support, a removable Gen 4 SSD and an anti-reflective display. The fully equipped variant launches at $1,499, while a cheaper 8 GB RAM model without Copilot+ functionality is expected at $1,299.

The new Surface Pro 13-inch receives a more conservative refresh, mainly focused on the new Intel chips. Unlike the laptops, it does not gain the upgraded haptic touchpad experience.

Microsoft is also placing major emphasis on sustainability and repairability. The chassis of the 13.8-inch and 15-inch Surface Laptops, alongside the Surface Pro 13-inch, use 100% recycled aluminum. Nearly every major component is replaceable, and Microsoft says IT departments will be able to perform repairs using common tools thanks to reduced adhesive usage and clearer internal layouts.

Pricing starts at $1,949 for flagship business configurations equipped with Intel Core Ultra 5 processors and 16 GB RAM. Microsoft attributes the higher pricing to increased component costs and expanded AI capabilities.

Well, this is not exactly a tablet, but it’s also not that far from it. Aura Displays has just launched a foldable 13.3 inch AMOLED portable monitor, which comes with touch support. It’s called the Single Flex Pro and uses a flexible AMOLED panel.

The idea is to get a proper monitor, that folds and fits in a backpack. When folded shut, the monitor measures 6 by 9 inches and it’s just over half an inch thick. It weighs 1.54 pounds, which is OK for a portable monitor. Once it’s opened up, it shows a 13.3 inch screen with a 3:4 aspect ratio. Aura Displays claims that it uses a proprietary hinge mechanism and panel design called FlexMAtrix. This means you can use the screen completely flat, or slightly bent, or even propped up like an open book.

It can also be rotated between standard landscape and portrait modes. This is useful for coders, people who work with spreadsheets and long texts. The display itself is a an AMOLED panel with a resolution of 1536 x 2048 pixels. It has a 60 Hz refresh rate and a brightness of up to 300 nits. Since it’s an OLED, it delivers deep blacks and decent color coverage.

On the connectivity side there’s a single USB-C port, make it easy to set up for Macs, Windows PCs, iPads and more. The price is kind of steep, I have to admit, at around $1299. There’s also a larger 17 inch model in the works, available from June 2026 if you want more.

We don’t know much about a regular Tab S12 right now and today we learn more about the first two slates’ CPUs.

Samsung has been using MediaTek chipsets for a hot minute now and they’re not about to stop. The Tab S12 sereis is said to include the MediaTek Dimensity 9500 chip, which also appeared on the OPPO Find X9 Pro flagship. The chipset is primed for gaming and it was recently discovered by Android Authority. They found a reference to the MT6993, a Dimensity 9500 in the source code of the Samsung AI Core app.

The Dimensity 9500 is buitl on the TSMC 3 nm process node and uses an octa core setup, wit a powerful C1 Ultra CPU clocked at 4.21 GHz. There;s also the ARM Mali G1 Ultra MC12 GPU, which delivers top level graphics, HDR support and high refresh rate gaming. We also also get top notch OLED displays, 12 MP Back and front cameras, S-Pen stylus and One UI 9.0 on top of Android 17.

45W or faster wired charging would also be nice to have, as well as IP68 charging.

“Distraction” seems to be the biggest key word right now, as all major brands are gravitating towards eliminating distractions from their products. ReMarkable for example recently launched the Paper Pure tablet, that’s priced at $399 and promises a lack of distractions.

The device is a direct successor to the ReMarkable 2, so you may as well call it ReMarkable 3. It comes with a Market stylus and six replacement tips included. There’s also a $449 bundle, that also adds the Marker Plus, which comes with a built-in eraser, plus a Sleeve Folio for protection. The idea is that this product is meant to write, read, annotate and… that’s all.

The screen is a third gen Canvas panel, built on the E-Ink Carta 1300 panel and offering up to 20% more contrast than the ReMarkable 2. Ink seems darker and crisper oon a background that register as paper-like and whiter. As far as responsiveness is concerned, the Paper Pure provides 21 ms of latency. That should mimic pen to paper input. The Market recharges magnetically when attached to the side of the tablet, much like other styli.

The device also promises 3 week of battery life and also expands internal storage from 8 GB to 32 GB and RAM from 1 GB to 2 GB. The notebooks, notes, drawings will sync to the phone or desktop via a ReMarkable app and also a Connect subscription offers cloud storage and handwriting to text conversion.

The back panel is made of plastic and the whole thing weighs 360 grams. It’s available in Ocean Blue, Mist Green and Desert Pink.

Remember Acer? There was a time when this brand made smartphones, tablets and a ton of mobile devices. Lately, they’ve been all about laptops, desktops, gaming monitors and other such devices. Now they’re back with a brand new tablet, the Acer Iconia iM11 5G, a tablet with an 11.45 inch screen and a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor.

The device has just debuted on the Indian market, with an atypical diagonal of 11.45 inches and an IPS LCD panel, that has a 2220 x 1440 pixel resolution and 450 nits peak brightness. The slate is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 7050 processor, together with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. As the name shows, the product offers 5G support, as well as 4G, plus Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2.

There’s also GPS, in case you were wondering. There’s a fingerprint scanner here, integrated into the Power button. At the back we find a 16 megapixel shooter and a 2 MP Macro camera, while upfront there’s an 8 MP shooter for videocalls. The device uses a rather small 7400 mAh battery, that charges at 18W via wire. Acer also throws in an active stylus for the Iconia iM11 5G, with 4096 levels of pressure.

You can also get a keyboard cover for the machine. All of this is crammed within a 7.85 mm thick body, that weighs 535 grams. It comes in blue and silver and runs on Android 15. The price is right: $249.

I have to admit that I haven’t heard about this brand before, but then again there are many tablet brands I don’t know of. XPPen Magic Note Pad has just debuted in India and it’s perfect for students and creators who desire a paper-like experience, but for digital writing.

The device is focused on note taking, reading and light productivity. It blends the feel of traditional notebooks with modern Android functionality. It also offers eye confort, precision stylus input and productivity tools. Magic Note Pad packs a 10.95 inch X-Paper display, meant to mimic real paper. It uses an AG nano etched surface, that reduces both glare and reflections.

It’s thus confortable for long reading and writing sessions. It supports 16.7 million colors and reaches up to 400 nits of brightness. It also delivers a smmooth refresh rate, for clear visuals. Reminding me of the TCL machines, the device sprts an X-Paper Key, that lets you switch between 3 modes: Ink, Natural and Light. It does run on an older Android, Android 14 and supports apps from the Google Play Store.

POCO is back with an affordable tablet, known for now as the POCO C Pad. The device has been listed on FCC ahead of its global launch. Sadly all we have for now is the e-label of the product and some info remains mysterious.

It could be just a rebrand for a Redmi tablet, like it happened before. The device is listed in Pantone finishes, like Cool Gray and Red. According to insiders, this slate is expected to be a rebranded version of the Redmi Pad 2 9.7, which Xiaomi launched recently. This means we’re getting a 9.7 inch LCD display with a 2K resolution and 120 Hz refresh rate, as well as as lim metal body.

It weighs 401 grams and inside we find a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s Gen 2 4G processor, as well as up to 4 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage. The good news? It has expansion via microSD. Otherwise, we get some typical stuff, like an 8 megapixel rear camera, a 5 MP front camera, dual speakers and an audio jack. We also get optional 4G connectivity and a decent 7600 mAh battery, which should offer a day of mixed usage.

It runs on HyperOS 3 based on Android 16, with AI tool integration. In Malaysia the product is priced at around $140.
