Nubia RedMagic has just unveiled a brand new tablet, that’s known as Red Magic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro in China and will most likely end up as the Red Magic Astra 2 Tablet in Europe. This is one of the most powerful tablets unveiled in 2026 and it’s meant for gaming.

The successor to the RedMagic Astra features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor, as well as up to 16 GB of RAM and up to 1 TB of UFS 4.1 Pro storage. The specs also include a 9.06 inch OLED display with a 2.4K resolution, meaning 2400 x 1504 pixels. It provides a refresh rate of 185 Hz, compared to the first gen’s 165 Hz. In order to keep latency low, RedMagic is using a Synaptics S3930 touch controller.

It supports a 300 Hz touch sampling rate. There’s also a proprietary RedMagic RedCore R4 gaming chip, plus an updated active liquid cooling system, that’s exposed on the back. It even comes with RGB lighting, as any gaming tablet should. An interesting feature I didn’t know much about is the PC Emulator with Steam support. Not sure how legit it is, but it’s integrated within the Game Space app and enables x86 applications and games to run on the machine.

red magic gaming tablet 5 pro (3)

According to RedMagic, users should be able to play titles up to 144 Hz and up to 2K resolution. There’s also an 8300 mAh battery with 80W fast charging and an extra USB-C port, that lets you do charging and connect peripherals. Only the main bottom port is an USB 3.2 one and supports 80W charging speed.

Price and availability

The RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro is available in Silver Wing and Dark Night. It starts at $736 with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage and goes to $904 in the 16 GB RAM, 1 TB config. The first units are coming to China on July 7th.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is expected to be the next big tablet flagship, probably coming this Fall, around the time of IFA 2026. It has already leaked in animations from One UI 9.0, that finally bring some good news: the ugly notch is gone.

Samsung is bringing the punch hole to the Tab S12 series, at last. Samsung has had a weird relationship with punch holes. They had one on the Galaxy Z Fold 2 and they quickly got rid of it and hid the selfie camera below the screen. They put a notch on the Tab S series for largest models and now they’re ready to go back on the decision. Even Apple got rid of the notch on MacBooks and iPads…

galaxy tab s12 ultra leak (1)

Now there are hints regarding the punch hole in the One UI 9.0 beta firmware. The same sotware includes two design versions: one with the cutout on the long edge and another on the shorter edge, just like the phones adapt when you rotate them. The animations weren;’t present in One UI 8.5, based on Android 16, so it seems like there’s something fresh here.

Currently, the Tab S11 Ultra and Tab S10 Ultra rely on a notch for the front camera and it seems it’s time to go with a punch hole. Specs? Probably the latest MediaTek Dimensity CPU, 12 GB of RAM and an S-Pen with new features. 10.000 mAh for the battery is a given.

Red Magic keeps on launching gaming products and this time we’re talking about a gaming tablet. This one has water cooling and it has been teased below. It even has a launch date and some specs shared.

Back in May 2026, the folks of Red Magic announced that they would be unveiling the next gaming tablet in June. Now there’s a proper introduction date. The slate will be called RedMagic Gaming Tablet 5 Pro in China and it will debut on June 30. In Europe it may end up being named RedMagic Astra 2. After all, the predecessor, RedMagic Gaming Tablet 3 Pro became the RedMAgic Astra in global markets.

The newcomer is expected to come int wo colors, black/grey and white and it should also feature water cooling. The water cooling pipes are visible at the back of the machine. Rumors claim that the newcomer will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 processor and sport a 9 inch OLED screen with a 185 Hz refresh rate. This OLED panel will definitely drive the price up.

The previous unit started at 3999 yuan, which is 517 euros. The new model will probably be at least 700 euros.

We’re already preparing for Xiaomi’s next big tablet and this one is a doozy. The Xiaomi Pad 9 battery has been leaked in the HyperOS code and developer Kacper Skrzypek has found some specs already. Turns out that the slate will feature a 9720 mAh battery.

This is quite the upgrade from the Pad 8’s 9200 mAh unit and the model number has leaked online, as M656BA, with a “2610” prefix. There are also hints at an October release date, together with the Xiaomi 18 series. Some even say we may see them as early as August. The standard Pad 9 has the codename “donghai”, which means East Sea, while the Pro version is codenamed “shuntian”.

Both of them share firmware connections with the Pad 8 internals, which means we could get some common components. Pad 9 will keep the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the Pad 9 Pro upgrade to a new CPU, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 5, or the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. We’re expecting them to run HyperOS 4.0 out of the box and also come bundled with a stylus or two. As usual, slim metal unibody cases are expected, with quad, hexa or octa speakers with Dolby Atmos tuning.

The cameras probably do 4K and the front one is probably ultrawide for videocalls.

OnePlus has quietly introduced its most powerful tablet to date. The new OnePlus Pad 3 Pro is now official in China, arriving as the successor to last year’s OnePlus Pad 2 Pro.

The device looks familiar. That’s because it shares much of its hardware with the globally announced OnePlus Pad 4. The difference is that the Pad 3 Pro is currently exclusive to the Chinese market, leaving international buyers with limited options.

The tablet features a 13.2-inch LCD display with a 7:5 aspect ratio, a resolution of 3392 x 2400 pixels, and an adaptive refresh rate ranging from 30Hz to 144Hz. OnePlus claims peak brightness of up to 1,000 nits, while the panel covers 98% of the DCI-P3 color gamut.

oneplus pad 3 pro 2

Powering the device is Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, currently the company’s flagship mobile platform. The tablet can be configured with up to 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 4.1 storage.

On the multimedia side, the tablet includes an eight-speaker setup, dual microphones, stylus support, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 5.4, and a USB 3.2 Gen 1 port. Camera hardware remains relatively modest, with a 13-megapixel rear camera and an 8-megapixel front-facing sensor.

Keeping everything running is a 13,380mAh battery with support for 67W fast charging. Despite the large display and battery, the device maintains a slim profile at 5.94mm and weighs approximately 672 grams.

Price

The OnePlus Pad 3 Pro is available in Dark Brown and Light Green. Pricing starts at 4,399 yuan (around $650) for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage version. The 12GB + 512GB model costs 4,899 yuan (around $725), while the top-end 16GB + 512GB configuration is priced at 5,399 yuan (roughly $800).

Lenovo has unveiled the new Tab Plus Gen 2, a multimedia-focused Android tablet designed around one key feature: sound. The device upgrades last year’s model with a nine-speaker JBL audio system, a larger 12.1-inch display, and new AI-powered features.

The Lenovo Tab Plus Gen 2 features a 12.1-inch LCD panel with a 2.5K resolution (2560 × 1600 pixels), Dolby Vision support, HDR10 compatibility, and up to 800 nits of brightness in High Brightness Mode. Compared to its predecessor’s 11.5-inch screen, the new model offers a larger viewing area for movies, streaming services, and gaming.

lenovo tab plus gen 2 (2)

Audio remains the tablet’s main selling point. Lenovo has equipped the device with a nine-speaker JBL Pro system optimized with Dolby Atmos. Users can switch between Dynamic, Movie, and Music sound profiles through Dolby Audio processing.

The tablet can also double as a standalone Bluetooth speaker, allowing users to stream music or podcasts directly from a smartphone.

Lenovo has redesigned the integrated kickstand, which now supports 360-degree rotation and multiple viewing modes, including portrait and landscape orientations. The company highlights dedicated Lean, Theater, Stand, and Hanging modes for different use cases, while a standby mode allows the tablet to function as a digital photo frame.

Linux seems to be the hip operating system to use these days and there are even tablets that run it. Today we have come across the Juno Tab 4, which is a Linux tablet with Intel Core and Core Ultra CPU options.

Juno Computers is actually a Linux PC vendor, that sells laptops, mini PCs and tablets that all come with Linux. They come with Debian or Ubuntu preinstalled. Their first tablet with Linux was launched in 2022 and ever since then they delivered more models. 2026 for example brings us the Juno Tab 4, available in two versions. There’s a Juno Tab 4 10.5 inch LTE, with an Intel Core i3 N300 Alder Lake-N processor and a larger Wi-Fi only model dubbed Juno Tab 4 13, a 13 incher with an Intel Core Ultra 5 Meteor Lake CPU.

juno 4 linux tablet (2)

Both units should bring a performance boost compared to the previous Juno Tab 3, which was a 12.1 inch tablet with an Intel N100 quad core CPU. Sadly we don’t have prices for the two, but we do have specs. For example, the smaller 10.5 inch 4G Juno 4 has an Intel Core i3 N300, 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of storage. There’s also Wi-Fi 6 and two USB-C 3.1 ports. It also has a 3.5 mm audio jack, micro HDMI and microSD.

Then there’s the 13.3 inch model, with 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 1 TB of storage. This one has an extra USB 3.0 Type A port, aside from the two Type-C ones and a generous 42.71 Wh battery. There’s also a magnesium aluminum alloy case used here and even fans for cooling. All of that within an 850 gram case.

More details can be found on the company’s website.
