Hey Tabletop Truths friends! So we have been MIA over the summer but we are gearing up for the Christmas season! Tomorrow at 7am we are pulling out of College Station and headed to Fort Worth for Christmas in Cowtown. The Junior League of Fort Worth does a fantastic job of putting on a great 3-Day Christmas Shopping experience. If you are in the DFW area and want to get a jump start on your shopping and find some unique treasures (including placemats of course)then come on over to Cowtown and see us! When I think back to over two years ago when Sara & I began our Tabletop Truths business/ministry I remember what our NUMERO UNO goal was: TO GET THE TRUTH OF GOD'S WORD into the hearts and minds of children and their families in an easy, convenient, "daily routine" way! While we try keep that objective in the forefront of our minds and on the home page of our website it is definitely easy to get bogged down in the details of running a business...paying those darn taxes, going to the post office for the umpteempth time in a week in the 3-digit Texas weather, feeding our own kiddos fast food so we can crank out 200 Armor of God placemats for an upcoming show and on and on....we sometimes look at each other and say "Now, why are we doing this? Is it worth it?" And then we will receive a kind email or a thank you note from a parent or grandparent expressing their appreciation for the "tools" we provide and how they really are making a difference in the lives of kiddos. Well, about 2 weeks ago we were in a bit of a discouraging slump and BOOM...we had the greatest treat ever waiting for us in our inbox!

A sweet mommy graciously took the time to email us this video of her not quite 3 year old daughter in action using the "Jesus Is" placemat. Isn't it amazing what little ones can learn?? The precious E's grandmother has given her quite a few of our placemats and this was her newest one. Thank you to E's mommy for her faithfulness in teaching and training little E and thank you also for reminding us WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!

We are so grateful and humbled that the Lord has allowed us to use HIS WORD, our late night craftiness and the faithfulness of parents like E's mommy to fill little hearts with TRUTH!

Hey Tabletop Truths Friends! We are excited to roll out our 2 new placemats this fall! The first one is our “Happy Birthday” placemat.

Like our other mats, it comes with a card with some questions/ideas for using the placemat! We hope your family can incorporate the Happy Birthday placemat into your family’s birthday traditions! Everyone is FEARFULLY and WONDERFULLY made and should be celebrated on their special day!!

Our second new mat is the “Jesus Is…” placemat. Similar to our “Attributes of God” placemat, it consists of multiple “symbols” highlighting what the scriptures say about Jesus’ character. The pictures are bright and simple and easy enough for the youngest of Bible scholars to learn! We hope your family enjoys learning and discussing the different “names” of Jesus and how those characteristics impact our relationship with HIM!

Making an Easter Garden with your kids is a great way to reinforce the Easter Story! Here are pics of the Sledge’s and Moffit’s gardens from last year. The first 3 families to email us a picture of your Easter Garden from THIS year will receive 2 free Easter placemats!

And if you are wondering…WHAT is an Easter Garden? Here you go… Have fun being creative!

Easter gardens originated in Europe. You will find them displayed in cathedrals, churches, and homes throughout the Easter season. Easter gardens are designed to be a miniature “model” of the Easter story while also serving as a beautiful decoration.

To make an Easter garden, get a large, but shallow dish, platter or tray to use as your base. (Line with foil if you don’t want dirt touching it.) You will then use dirt/potting soil, plants, grasses, flowers, rocks (and whatever other natural items you find) to create your garden. You can make crosses out of twigs to put on a hill, make a tomb from a flower pot or container turned on its’ side and find a large rock to put by the tomb. Be creative! It is so much fun to go and “gather” all of your supplies in nature and create the garden together as a family. It will make a great centerpiece for your Easter table!

Hints:

· Egg cartons cut up individually or votive holders make great “vases” to bury in the dirt and put flowers in for your garden.

· Even weeds make great little “flowers” for your garden.

· Moss from the floral section is a great filler and covers up soil nicely!

Hobby Lobby has resin Easter figurines in their Easter section. (or you can make people out of popsicle sticks, etc.!)

Hey Tabletop Truths Friends! Just wanted to give you a little update. Business has picked back up (after the “everyone is recovering from Christmas” January!) We have decided to take the plunge and go wholesale. We have had several stores/boutiques inquire about carrying our placemats and so we are making it happen! As the stores pick us up, we will let you know where Tabletop Truths can be found. (They are already on the shelves of Storkland Baby & Children’s Products in Wichita Falls, Tx)

How can you help us? You can tell us your favorite stores and boutiques that might like Tabletop Truths!! Maybe a gift boutique that carries Christian items?
