Blog Prompt – Sesame Street debuted in 1969. Did you or your kids watch Sesame Street and who is your favorite character?

Sesame Street was a big part of our home when my son was younger. He loved that show and I loved the message that it sent out to children. I have to admit, Sesame Street was my child’s baby sitter while I did a few chores around the house and kept him entertained and not investigating new adventures which always seemed to get him in trouble.  Of course, my son would act out some of the characters.  Especially Cookie Monster when he was eating.  

My favorite character was Beaker.  I just loved the voice they did for him.  Here is a little video of him.  I hope you enjoy.

I found a website called Back2Yourself which has a great free trial for back exercises program with video. They provide you with progress tracking and professionals to talk to about your self training regimen. Being that I don’t have the funds for a personal trainer right now, I am signing up for a free trial. I am hoping that this program will keep my back from having that constant pain that I see my family and friends suffer from.

Blog Day – Today is Parade Day. Do you like parades? Have you participated in a parade?

I love parades and love watching them on TV. You will find me on the couch on Thanksgiving day, sipping my coffee and watching the parades.

I guess it all goes back to school when I was in band and since the 6th grade, I marched in some kind of parade. Homecoming, parade contests and our Christmas Parades where the usual ones.

When I was in the high school band, I was a majorette one year and drum major for 3 years.   I loved my little uniform.  Yes, I carried a big stick!! 

This is a picture of my senior year doing our half time show at the Jackson Festival we went to every year.   Thats me in the middle with my little white outfit on.

There are only a couple of magazines that I actually read from cover to cover and that is PC World and Birds & Blooms.

I love my geek magazine and learning about all the new electronics out there and how to make my computer better. If I am wanting to purchase a new piece of equipment, I can go to one of my magazines and look at their comparison of all types of electronics. Or, I can go to their website for the same information. Great magazine if you like things like that.

Birds & Bloom is a small magazine that I only get every 2 months, but I love all the information I get from it how to feed my birds and what to plant to attract birds and butterflies. I love all the tidbits they have to share from subscribers experiences.

I also get Southern Living and I have loved this magazine for many years now. I don’t read everything in it, but the recipes and the parts for the state of Florida are always on my check list. I love seeing all the places we can visit in the South. My favorite part is how other people decorate their homes and I have used some ideas in the past.

The best idea I took from the magazine was the screen door for our newly remodeled kitchen.  We were trying to figure out what door to use for our pantry door  and I saw where someone had taken a screen door and used it in their kitchen.  So, we painted the extra door we had and used it for our new Pantry Door.  It looked so nice in our 1845 home out in the country in Georgia and worked perfect with the decor.  The picture below show this kitchen at Christmas time.  That was my favorite room in that home and I have to show it off a bit.

When I moved into this home with my new husband, the kitchen had never been painted since 1845 and there was only the cabinets on the wall.  We replaced the bottom cabinets and put in the island with all new appliances.

There was 4 main rooms in this home and they were 20 x 20, so we had plenty of room to get around in.  My husband had worked very hard to make this home beautiful and livable for the both of us.

SHOP.COM is perfect for my shopping. I am looking for a new digital camera and I love how they compare all the different types of cameras. I can search by how much I want to pay, what kind of camera or brand. Price Comparison is very important to me, especially when I know how much I want to spend. They also have tons of reviews on all the different cameras for me to read. I depend a lot on what other consumers like about a product.

I am also looking at items for Christmas gifts. My nephew loves sports and I think he would love one of the Nba comforters they have to offer. Thats one gift checked off of my list. I’m sure I will find more and I love the idea of not having to stand in lines and let the post office bring the gifts to me.

I am not a big donut eater, especially in the morning. For some reason, my body doesn’t want a lot of sugar first thing in the morning. I would love to know why my body is like that because as the day goes on, sugar is always on my mind.

There is a place in Sikeston, MO (a town close to where I was raised) that had the best donuts in the world.  They made their own and when you got them right out of the fryer, they are the best.   They are known as the Donut Specialists!

When I moved further south, I had never had a Krispy Kreme donut and my future husband made sure that was one of the first things I did.

Those are really good donuts, but I was still a bit partial to our hometown made donuts.

So a taste test had to be done.  The next time he was in Missouri to see me, he tried Houchins Donuts and sure enough, he had to agree, they were better. 

I haven’t had a donut in a while and I will be sure to visit our hometown donut shop to make another sweet memory.

Blog Prompt – Today is National Candy Day. If you didn’t have to worry about all the bad things candy stands for (fattening, sugar, bad for your teeth,etc.), what would you eat and how much?

Chocolate would be my first choice, but I’ve talked so much about how much I enjoy chocolate, I’m sure you guys are tired of it.

So, lets move on to some of my other favorite candy that I just can’t eat just one of. Snicker’s bars and M&M with peanuts and made with dark chocolate. YUMMY!!

How can anyone just eat one M&M??  I could never do that.

Ugh.  I realized all that candy I talked about is chocolate.
