The marine life in Tahiti is surprisingly friendly and easy to enjoy, however, it is always best to have an experience guide that knows the weather and most importantly the tides. The passes in the barrier reefs are the best places to see the most variety of marine life. The tides are important because if you go at the wrong time you have to fight the current and could be swept out to sea. A guide will know when to dive, usually at the end of flood tide when the water is clearer and not moving. This usually give you about 30 minutes of glorious exploration.

Fishing is definitely one of the least known attractions in Tahiti, however, in my opinion one of the best places to big Game fish. The first time I tried I hooked up to a huge blue marlin immediately, and battled it for three hours before bringing it alongside tagging and releasing it. Then I caught yellowfin tuna, mahimahi and baracuda until I couldn't reel anymore. I fished from daybreak until 3:00 in the afternoon catching one after another until I was done in. You don't have to go far, right outside the barrier reef is the best.

Its located on a small motu, (tiny barrier island) on Rangiroa Atoll one of the Tuamotu's in the Polynesian Archipelago.
