The recommended way is to make a pinhole camera with some bits of cardboard. But that way is no fun at all because you just see an image of the sun on a piece of paper, not the real thing.
The best thing to do is watch it with the naked eye, because that way you can get a job in nightmarkets massaging strangers who will forgive you if you touch the wrong parts.

Taiwan won't get a full eclipse, which is the thin, dark blue band, but we're fairly close, so there'll be a partial eclipse.

Widerness paintball this weekend

We're going out to Maulin to paintball by the river this Saturday (July 4th). We’ve arranged for a round trip shuttle to pick us up from the Tainan train station. We get driven out there, the driver waits and watches as we shoot each other silly, then dives our painted asses home. It takes about 1.5 hours to get there, but easily a good 2.5 hours by scooter. The location we are playing at is beautiful. It's in the mountains by a river that is clear and great for swimming in (so bring a swimsuit). There are games spots with tall grass, long sand banks, huge rocks, shaded tree-covered areas, river crossings, and hillsides. So many areas and game possibilities!

We would like people to join us to make the day more fun. The bigger the teams the better! We're getting a great deal on equipment rental, especially on cost per paintball (see below). We've also got a wide selection of game types lined up that we can play (see below). If you want to come, and I hope you do since all the planning and organization has already been done for you.
