Today I released a short tutorial that explains how hackers use Javascript Injection to exploit simple coding oversights to steal a 3rd party site's cookie data. I have included some simple code examples that should help you understand the process step-by-step. This is a two part tutorial, so make sure you understand what's going on in the first section quite well before moving on to part two.

Multiple skins option inside app interface!

As some of you may know, I have been working on testing various app ideas on the web store. To date I have been testing the A/B versions and only keeping the top performer. Now though, I have decided to offer a A/B switch or button inside the app interface. This will give the app users the option to choose various skins within the app itself, and then have the app remember the users choice.

Bottom line of this rambling...Any new app that comes with multiple skins/versions will have the option to switch skins/versions right in the app!

Chrome Apps: New apps published to the store

For many months now the web store has had many bugs that were causing serious issues for many developers, I being but one of them. Nevertheless, they seemed to finally have ironed out the bugs and things seem to be working alright for now. There are still some bugs but they dont seem to be stopping me from publishing apps in the store. Sooooooooo, I am glad to say that I have finally published my full app list for now. I do have a few more ideas but I am going to be getting a book on HTML 5 and try to do something more involved.

Chrome App: Daily Beauty Tips

This new beauty tips app will display new tips each day that will share advice specific to your particular hair color. That's right, this app will display custom advice for blonds, brunettes and reds. This is the first of my apps to use the new 'book skin'. Please drop me an email and let me know what you think of this app and the new skin.

I am currently waiting for the app to be published into the Chrome store. When it does the app will be available here.

Astronomy Image App Display Error

Chrome Apps: Version 2

Hello all, I wanted to let you know that I have decided to start working on a new version/skin for my Chrome apps. I am thinking of building what I call 'Book versions'. Really it's just a new skin to a pre-existing app idea. Ideally I would like to have the multiple skins available via one app but until I figure out how to do this, I am limited to making separate versions for each new skin.

I should start rolling out these new apps after the 10th.

To Monetize an App or Not?

I was recently wondering if any app users had an opinion about advertising in apps. I know some folks are very serious about ads and will install ad blockers in their browsers to avoid them. But nevertheless, others don't mind, so what do you think?

What do you think about advertising in apps?

Would you stop using an app if the owner installed ads?

I am curious because I was recently sent an email in which the individual suggested I start running ads in order to help pay for the hosting costs...and I am thinking about it. I will let you know what happens.

Chrome App Update (Sept 20th)

I just logged back in after being away for a few weeks and I see that Google Chrome/Play is still experiencing an issue with some apps being stuck in review or otherwise still taken down. As soon as I know anything, I will post an update here on this page. I thought for sure this would be working by now and I apologize for any delay or problems that my app users are experiencing.

UPDATE Sept 20th: I was told that this bug would be fixed by the end of the weekend. Cross your fingers ;)
