San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Michael Crabtree suffered a torn Achilles during the team's OTA practice on Tuesday and could miss the entire 2013 season, Mike Garafolo of USA Today reports.

The severity of the tear (complete or partial tear) is currently unknown and should be the determining factor for how much time Crabtree will miss. As noted by Garafolo, two players — Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs and Tampa Bay Buccaneers defensive end Da'Quan Bowers — returned to the playing field in 2012 after suffering Achilles injuries during the OTAs. Lindsay Jones of USA Today notes that, in 2011, Denver Broncos wide receiver Demaryius Thomas returned to action seven months after tearing his Achilles.

Link to Yahoo article

It is incredible to hear that the NFL is considered a non-profit organization.
"... did you know that the National Football league, an organization that currently rakes in about $10 billion per year in revenue, is also a non-profit organization in the eyes of the government? While you're trying to figure that one out, we've got another one for you. Did you know that the league has been a non-profit organization since 1966, when the NFL merged with the American Football League, and then-commissioner Pete Rozelle folded in the request for an exemption with the request for an anti-trust exemption?"

That is not right IMO. I work for a legitimate 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to actually help people in need. We accept that our employees are paid below market for their skills and we must struggle financially because we produce no revenue and are sustained by charitable contributions. That certainly doesn't apply to the NFL, but then I guess they attract better (read more highly paid) lawyers and lobbyists than we do.

"While member teams obviously operate for profit, the interesting wrinkle here is that the league itself claims not to. And one way to avoid profitability is to pay your current and former executives up the wazoo, which the NFL has done. In 2012 alone, the league paid approximately $53.8 million to its big -ticket execs, including $11.6 million to Commissioner Roger Goodell and $8.5 million to former Commissioner Paul Tagliabue..."

This is so wrong. Another example of your government at work on your behalf.

The current threads all look boring. So how can I troll to rile people up to make something fun to read?

Umm how about....

What was the most memoriable part of the Ravens/Broncos playoff game? Torrey Smith burning Champ Bailey? Flaccos great play outplaying Manning? Jacoby Jone's great TD catch (Before you say that it Rahim Moore's bad defense. Consider this, what if it had been Patrick Johnson, Travis Taylor, or Lee Evans instead. Still feel confident?)? Mannings game blowing interception? Dan Diedorff and Company eating crow after openly routing for Manning? Or Ashley Fox's epic fail article declairing the Ravens had no shot, why even bother showing up?

Or maybe:

If we were in an alternative universe and the Ravens would have hired Rex Ryan as head coach and the Jets hired Jim Harbaugh how would things have played out?

Or:

If the Falcons would have traded down below the Ravens in the 2008 draft, and the Ravens drafted Matt Ryan and the Falcons got Joe Flacco how do you think each team would have faired? Do the Ravens win the 2012 AFC Championship Game against New England? Do the Ravens even win a playoff game in those five years with Ryan? Do the Falcons go all the way one year?

Or

Which Ravens Superbowl run do you find most satisfying? The 2000 season with that amazing once in a life time Defense, with highlight games with the high memorable (for me) week 2 comeback shoot out vs Jacksonville (In my mind the stadium has never matched the energy and intensity of that comback win. It was amazing how crazy everyone was with the winning catch, and everyone chanting Let's Go Ravens for the next 45 minutes. It was truly awsome to be there). Trent Dilfer's comeback win at the Titans and his great emotional post game interview which I'll never forget. The great playoff run and just the whole energy around the city and greeting the team back at BWI and then in Owings Mills after each playoff win). Or 2012, with a great start at 9-2 but always feeling nervous about the defense. 4th & 29, Ray's last dance, The divisonal playoff game vs the Broncos and the aswome emotional rollercoast of that game and me getting up and jumping and acting like a fool when Jacoby made that TD catch, most definatly one of the best playoff games of all time! Then there's the Harghbowl.

Looking to add some competition for Gino Gradkowski and more versatility along the offensive line, the Ravens agreed to send a conditional 2014 draft pick today to the Indianapolis Colts for center A.Q. Shipley, both teams announced.

The trade will become official when Shipley passes a physical.

Shipley, a seventh-round pick out of Penn State by the Pittsburgh Steelers in 2009, started five games at center for Indianapolis last season and saw action in 14 total games. At 6 feet 1 and 309 pounds, Shipley can also play guard.
