For those of you that haven’t been out to buy FUEL because you’d prefer to try before you buy, as of today there will be a demo for the game that will be released on the Playstation Store.

The FUEL demo enables players to take on the Ocean Rush career event, where 7 racers pick their own paths through treacherous landscapes and short-cuts are key to taking the chequered flag. Gamers can also take on Blitz – a wild, high-pressure challenge where players must race against the clock to reach the next checkpoint before time runs out. Gamers who download the console versions can also play online for a limited period of 2 weeks from release, experiencing up to 16 player free ride in a limited area of the Tsunami Reef zone or challenging up to 6 other players in the Ocean Rush career race.

EA Sports have announced that there will be two downloadable content packages arriving for Fight Night Round 4. The first pack will be released in August and will add a new gym, new gameplay sliders and new equipment. The second pack will be released in September and will contain the face button controls for those of you that can’t grasp the analog punching controls.

Here’s the details on the first patch for UFC 2009 Undisputed, it will fix alot of thing people have been complaining.

Below are the details.

• We recognize premature match quitting as the biggest online issue and have taken steps to fix it. The Patch will have integrated code that detects who pulls the cable and will assign a Loss as well as a Did Not Finish to that player. The DNF is only counted for the player who executes the disconnection. The DNF rate will be displayed on the fighter selection screen of the Online Ranked Match. When disconnected the Winning Streak is also reset to 0.
• We’ve adjusted Ranked Matches to match up players with better connections, which will improve lag issues we’ve seen to date.
• We’ve adjusted the difficulty of performing submissions against AI opponents to improve the balance of subs vs. striking when playing against the AI.
• We’ve adjusted the Flash KO rate so that they are less frequent.
• We’ve increased maximum number of points awarded in online play from 99,999 to 999,999 and we’ve increased the Max Level from 100 to 200.
• We’ve lowered the Winning Streak Bonus Max from 5 to 3.
• We’ve removed the decimal places on the Leaderboard Winning Percentage so we only show whole percentages.
• We’ve addressed the CAF cheat so the skill levels in CAF cannot be cheated and increased. Also any CAF with unfair point values will no longer be able to be used Online.
• For PS3 users we’ve also fixed a bug that causes a freeze during auto-save; whichever controller was used to Press Start on the Title Screen will be identified as the main controller.

Massive Action Game (MAG) Producer Shijima has stated that Europe will get a beta, what about the Americans? Well it appears that there was some cunfusion on the Official Playstation Forums about what Shijima said.

I just wanted to clear up any misunderstandings about Shijima’s post on the European forum. His comments were directed to his community and it is a mistake to think that the Beta will only be comprised of Europeans. We will be releasing more information on the Beta for MAG in the future, but we can confirm that it will include users from North America.

I know some of you already assumed that but I wanted to make sure you had the official word on it.

The MAG beta will be for Europe and America only.

It’s been a while since we heard news of the MMO’s heading to the PlayStation 3 but luckily Videogamer.com held an interview with SOE designer, Kevin O’Hara.

He explains why technically it is possible to enable cross-platform play but design concerns are proving a stumbling block.

We have not decided if you can play between the two. They are cross-platform. We’re able to do it – it’s more of a design concern. We’re doing a lot of focus testing and we’re finding that people just, ‘oh they’ve got a controller, it’s not fair! Well they’ve got a mouse it’s not fair!

On a release date O’Hare didn’t dare to name a month nor period but he was willing to let loose that we wouldn’t be expecting it in 2009.

Kotaku let know that website Gamekyo is claiming Konami is planning to dropping the Konami ID’s. The ID’s have been more annoying the past 2 years as players who wanted to play PES and Metal Gear Online needed to register. The process it self was a whole adventure as well if you tried to register during the Metal Gear Online Beta period.
So in the end you had three accounts, you console Game ID, Konami’s ID and a Konami Game ID (for each specific game)

That cries for changing this might have finally been heard.

It appears that SOCOM 4 could be in development because according to PCB Production’s credits page, PCB Productions has worked on a number of games in the past, has been working on some motion capture for SOCOM 4. So what makes this rumour a true one, well they wouldn’t add it to the credit page otherwise.

Let’s hope it’s better than SOCOM: Confrontation which is/was rigged with alot of bugs.

Capcom classics will be making their way to the Playstation Store starting today.  Ryan McDougall, Marketing Coordinator of Capcom recently published a post over on the US PSBlog to basically promote the library of classics we could see on the store.

I’m here to bring you word of our upcoming PlayStation classics, a library of classic games being brought to you on the PlayStation Network. We’ve sorted through our archives and hand-selected the games that rocked the industry. All of these upcoming classics will be released over the PSN, and will be playable on your PSP.

Basically Capcom will be choosing the classic titles and you’ll be able to download and play them on your Playstation Portable. Capcom Classics Collection: Remixed is the first classic and will be released today.

Capcom serves up a collection of classic games in Capcom Classics Collection. You can relive more than 20 classic titles including 1942, Final Fight, Ghosts ‘n Goblins, and Commando. The games can be played in either one- or two-player mode. Capcom Classics Collection also includes bonus material, such as remixed soundtracks, game tips, and original artwork.

Tecmo has been making more PlayStation 3 games, so Siliconera has the opportunity to ask them why their latest title (Quantum) is a PS3 exclusive on which they have been working on for the last 2 years. Makoto Shibata had this to say

Japanese development tends to focus and specialize on particular hardware. When we were thinking about doing this we saw the PS3 as the hardware with the highest specs. The engine is something we made for Quantum, but we took a basic engine we had for all hardware and adapted it for PS3 and Quantum specifically.

But does that mean Tecmo is now focusing solely on the PlayStation 3?

It’s not that Tecmo is shifting away from the Xbox 360. It’s about timing. From the beginning this was seen as a PS3 title and it happens to be coming out at the same time as Ninja Gaiden Sigma 2.

Later in the interview, drifting away from the 360 vs PS3 talk, Makoto Shibata said they would be working on new maps, new rules for the online mode. But that the initial launch could expect 10-12 maps to play on.
