Tamil Quran for Mobile

Mobile has been associated with english language for a long time and now moving to other languages. The place that i live, has tamil as its major language. I am not a person who is a fanatic for a particular language but think that people here, are being deprived of some technological updates.

Before moving ahead, for people other than muslims, i wanted to let them know what is quran and then tell them about Tamil Mobile Quran.

The Qur’an^[1] (Arabic: القرآن ‎ al-qur’ān, literally "the recitation"; also sometimes transliterated as Qur’ān, Koran, Alcoran or Al-Qur’ān) is the central religious text of Islam. Muslims believe the Qur’an to be the book of divine guidance and direction for mankind, and consider the original Arabic text to be the final revelation of God.^[2]^[3]^[4]^[5] Islam holds that the Qur’an was revealed to Muhammad by the angel Jibrīl (Gabriel) over a period of 23 years.^[2]^[6]^[7] Muslims regard the Qur’an as the culmination of a series of divine messages that started with those revealed to Adam, regarded in Islam as the first prophet, and continued with the Suhuf-i-Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham),^[8] the Tawrat (Torah),^[9]^[10] the Zabur (Psalms),^[11]^[12] and the Injeel (Gospel).^[13]^[14]^[15] The aforementioned books are not explicitly included in the Qur’an, but are recognized therein.^[16]^[17] The Qur’an also refers^[18] to many events from Jewish and Christian scriptures, some of which are retold in comparatively distinctive ways from the Bible and the Torah, while obliquely referring to other events described explicitly in those texts.

Quran is now being translated in all major languages and also is translated in Tamil by many Tamil Scholars. One being among them is P. Jainulabideen, who is a noted scholar among tamil muslim people and also among others :) . My mother tongue is urdu and i know very little tamil, but i still love hearing P.J (as he is well known) lectures.

Mobile Quran is also in development and it is being developed into many major languages except tamil. So, since i was into mobile application development, wanted to do something that can benefit the people, came up with an idea to develop the application of Quran, in Tamil.

I feel, there are very less mobile application in tamil. I do not want to share my experience in developing the mobile quran as of now since I am still in the process of upgrading the current version of this quran.
