Have you ever wondered what would happen if everyone just stopped what they were doing at a given moment? Now, you and I both know that such a thing would be improbable but is certainly entertaining to think about. Imagine a world of normalcy and sameness, if there is such a word. I challenge all to go beyond the normal and the same and go beyond their limits, and create a sense of momentum by taking lots of action, not just random action, action with a purpose!!! It's good stuff!!!

I read this article and found it quite interesting, written by Rain. I do want to make a correction from the most recent blog. Rain was born Rainbow not Raindrop as I had previously mentioned. What is quite funny about this whole thing, is that she has her signature raindrop that represents her company and I suppose this is what flashed through my brain when I was describing her.

Mastering Your Make-Up and getting back to the basics

With the evolution of time, everything else seems to have evolved, including our Make-up. One thing for sure has not changed however, and that is our needs. Clearly, we have different needs at different stages depending on our skin type, color tone, and all things considered. Our needs are very basic if we really think about it. Here are 3 basics that may offer fresh perspective when focusing on your make-up needs:

1. Confidence: This is paramount! Regardless of the type of make-up you use and how much you wear, it is irrelevant if your confidence about your product, how to use it, and yourself is not in tact. I realized this early on, when my husband Alfredo and I ran our photo studio. Here we had the most beautiful people inside and out walk in to get photographed, we made them glamorous and "camera ready" to be photographed, and BLAH!! I really mean this. Alfredo and I then found ourselves giving quick pep talks, before our models were to get photographed. They looked great but they didn't believe it within and some of them were lacking the confidence. We made a deduction... and that is confidence is the best tool that cannot be bought, it must either be innate or adopted. A little bit of confidence goes a long way!!!!

2. Know Your Tools: There are several tools that you can utilize that truly make your life easier such as, brushes, color palates, sponges, powder puffs, Q-tips etc. Take the time to learn about what these essentials can do for you and this will allow you to create optimal results. There are basic fundamental ways of application utilizing all of these tools and this will truly make you feel like a professional after learning a few tips.

3. Less Is More!! Know when to use colors and when to not use colors!!! How many times have you applied your make-up, thinking more of this or that is better, and then soon realized that this is so untrue? Your face is the world's window into you and who you are. Let's not get misinterpreted by applying a little too heavy. At our school "The Make-up Artist School by Rain" we offer a full range of education for the budding artist to the everyday individual who wants to learn the basics. One thing we consistently teach is that for your individual look, a natural you is quite effective.

If you master thse basics, you will find that your personal cosmetic needs will be much easier and much more effective!!

COSMETIC GURU RAIN- TAKING THE WORLD BY STORM-ONE FACE AT A TIME

Behind every great product is typically a great leader or visionary who created the product and had enough belief until success was achieved!! I have had the good fortune of meeting up with Rain ( believe it or not, this is truly her real name, she was actually born with the full name of "raindrop") If you read in my blog yesterday, you read about my experience with the most amazing cosmetic line!! Those of you who know me, do know that I am not one to be shy when I love something. I want you to be able to pull from this successful woman's vision for creating a product that has the perfect blend of energy, sexy, and excellence.

I had the good fortune of meeting up with Rain- she has quite an interesting story which I think is worth reading because she proves to all of us that with a vision and a great team, anything is possible!!!

At a young age, Raindrop Hannah Bee recalls her fascination with her mother's make-up drawer, and as she evolved through life, she realized that in her very first beauty pageant, she had to take her fascination more seriously. She learned early on, the importance of looking great in person as well as on stage through her pageant experience. Rain went on to college and studied communications and it was through her roommate, who worked for a reputable cosmetics company which this allowed Rain the exposure to another level of understanding, in the cosmetics world. Rain expanded her range and became quite creative with her new found skill of applying make-up and became the "go to girl" for glamour in her circle.

This was a turning point for Rain, as she experienced with many other color choices and realized she had a world of options at her fingertips. As she finished college at UNLV she continued on studying her new found profession and married, prominent fashion photographer, Alfredo Andreani. This set a different stage for their collective endeavor and the perfect marriage was created not only on a personal level but a professional level!

Alfredo and Rain became so busy with their photo studio, obviously with Rain at the make-up helm and Alfredo at the camera, they created an incredibly successful business!

Another turning point occurred for Rain and Alfredo when their clients were so thrilled at the way they looked and came back to Rain and asked exactly how they could achieve the great look that she delivered for them.

The rest... is history and after hours and hours of brainstorming and research to find the perfect blend, Rain and Alfredo created the perfect hero product which is their foundation. The demand has grown to such a level, that there are requests all over for the "flawless face" that the Rain cosmetic line assists you with!!

I am sooo thrilled to tell the world about the hottest sexiest make-up in the world. This incredible line is as fresh and sassy as it's name. I put this amazing line to the test. I recently came back from my trip from South Africa and England and I now can say that Rain Cosmetics really delivered for me. I had to write a letter to Rain, she is the founder of this amazing line, and I could not help myself I had to send this to her. I just contacted her this past Saturday and this is what I wrote-

In life, we have opportunities to manifest and create our reality. What may have once been a vision could now be that certain reality or what may have been a vision may now be a dream of sorts. All in all, we are here to manifest and create.

I suppose I am touching on this because of the valuable lesson I have learned most recently. I have learned to be careful and wise to all that appears to say one thing and define itself as the OTHER.

This has made me a bit skeptical for the future but, I am learned and I truly respect lessons, so I will take all experiences as a potential lesson that I must learn.

This brings me to my new expectations and a new learning at this stage of my life.

Every experience leads us to reflection of thought and creates in us an emotion that can serve of greater value for the future. Regardless of what we have been through, if we have felt pain, the pain is real likened to the fact that if we have felt pleasure, the pleasure is real.

Key points:

1. Make all relationships matter

2. Be cordial and nice to those whom you love

3. Never assume too much comfort with one

4. Verbal badger to those whom we care about is never acceptable

5. Love with careless abandon and not skepticism

6. Be powerful through actions stemming from abundance not scarcity

Bad luck or poor choices?

I am the first person to say that some of us have situations that occur in our lives which are certainly out of our control and put us in a predicament. I am also the first person to say that we find reasons to justify these predicaments as a thing of luck vs. a thing of choice. I am certainly not talking about traumatic life altering events that occur in our lives such as natural disasters and other things that are the obviously not our choice...

I am saying, at the core level of anything that we do, we have made a choices relating to all that we do.

Let's talk about why this is so important to understand:

1. Choice vs. Circumstance: Coming from a place of choice allows you to take control a lot faster vs. falling into a place of victimization

EX: If you are in a relationship that is not clicking, well it is your choice to stay in that relationship and continue to find many reasons to stay because it seems to be the convenient thing to do. This is a simple example, however as time progresses, we start feeling like we are entangled in something, not through choice but because of circumstances and we blame our circumstances which first started as a choice!!!!! Self-perpetuating cycle.

2. Like=Like: Have you ever known someone who seemed to be the coolest person with so much to like and they started hanging around you and they became even better? If you have answered yes, I applaud you. What about someone who actually gives you credit for them being a better person? That feels nice, doesn't it? Now let's take the opposite side of the spectrum, with the person who is around you and they seem to make you a better person, and cause you to think differently...

Question: Is this the other person really making you a better person, or is it you appreciating the relationship, which is causing you to look at yourself a bit more positively, which is causing you to respond to yourself and others more effectively, which causes you to get the most out of your relationships and "situations" and as a result it appears that you have made a desirable choice?

Today: Take a minute to look at your life and to really discover where you have made some not so effective choices. Look at those choices and choose differently. This sounds so simple, and it is not simple, I will be the very first person to tell you. The main reason why this is not seeming so simple is because you may find yourself in a current set of circumstances that are all based on choices which more than likely originated, 10 choices ago.

START FRESH: MAKE A NEW CHOICE AND DO SOMETHING A BIT DIFFERENTLY THAT WILL EMPOWER YOU AND THOSE AROUND YOU!!!

We live in an age where it seems so much is impossible which in essence... makes more things possible. This profound concept forces us, compels us, inspires us, probes us and truly triggers a new line of thinking!

New ideas and concepts are expected! What about a new philosophy? A new way of being? Isn't this a true impact on a marketplace, a community, the globe?

How often are you freshening up your brand and your philosophy to match up and deliver exactly what you want the marketplace to know about you?

Pay close attention to what I am about to say next: Everything that is said about you, reflects your work, and it is ATTENTION that is being placed on YOU! Make no mistake, there is good press and bad press and the age old rule about PR: Good or Bad, it's PR! I don't buy into some of that philosophy 100% because there are things that we have to undue due to bad PR!!

However my friend... keep in mind, it's what you do after the good or bad press!!

Everything we do, how we do it, what we say, how we say it and why we say what we say goes through so many psychological filters and carries out into an interpretation which then feeds into the microcosim of society and leads to a self-perpetuating branding frenzy!!!

"The unsung HERO: The Tech Guru"

Who is in your back pocket? Besides an old piece of gum!! This is the bottom line, in this very technologically savvy world that we are living in, it is a given to simply know how to email someone, and FYI, that is not considered high tech, just in case you were wondering.

Today we are giving credit where it is due!! Yes, I like to call him/her the almighty "technology guru"

Yes. Finally. Let's be honest, without my Tech Guru in my back pocket, my photos, documents, marketing pieces, blogs and innovative ideas would be all in my fantastic mind!!! And this does us no good!

I am serious about this, we are in an age of information times 100 and more than ever, we need to be able to access such information.

So, here are some pointers to look for in your "Tech Guru"

1. Make sure they are far smarter than you in every way as it pertains to anything dealing with a computer and the great things that it can do. (don't be threatened by their big brains, they are far more diligent than most and we want to recognize such a thing)

2. If they come up to you with a bright idea, daily, than they are "in" and this means they have a pulse on what is going on in the world.

3. Make sure they have the ability to create communication with many worlds, not just their industry but your industry and your competitors industry.

TIPS ON HOW TO COMMUNICATE WITH OUR "TECH GURUS"

1. Do not insult their intelligence by asking them to google something, they love google and have more than likely "mega-googled" before you could even finish your sentence or question.

2. Praise them for their bright ideas-not that they really care about your praise, they just want to make sure that you are paying attention to the large amounts of information that they are throwing your way. If you don't pay attention, they will dump you for someone who knows how to give credit where it is due!

3. Utilize their ideas- look they have made your life easier and they know it. Use their ideas sooner than later or their ideas will already be outdated and then they will fish around for more in the sea of technology. They don't mind of course, but please don't let bright ideas pass you by!

So, to all of our "Technology Guru's" you are truly appreciated!!

"OUCH!! THAT HURT"

Remember, sticks and stones may break bones but names will never hurt me?

WRONG!!!

Words and language and the things that we say to each other is our communicative device. What am I doing right now?

I am writing down my thoughts based on an assessment of my life or based on something that has happened in my life which is triggered by other words that were handed off to me. And... based on my experiences with other people.

So, if I am told something positive, I will think about it and I will think about it some more and then I will write about it and it then causes someone else to think and make a thing out of it. Thoughts are truly things and things my friend, drive our behavior!!!!

This is always so fascinating to me and I am always putting this concept to use with the most silly things in my life.

When I am going somewhere and I need a parking spot, I think about how there is someone about to walk out and get into their car and free up the space that they have been reserving for me so I could park oh so conveniently. I think it (someone is reserving a spot for me), I speak it (someone is reserving a spot for me and it is waiting for me right now), and I create it. All with thoughts...

It is quite fun actually to have the vip treatment in every parking lot I go to!! Give it a shot today.

LET ME TELL YOU WHAT IS UNFUN!!! hurtful words and hurtful thoughts, are very UNFUN. And I highly recommend that we take a look at the words we use with others because we just may say something that will hurt someone and they may make a thing out of it and they may hurt others.

STICKS, STONES AND WORDS ALL HAVE THE SAME IMPACT IF THEY ARE USED IN A NEGATIVE WAY!! WE HAVE ENOUGH GLOOM AND DOOM IN THE WORLD. BE NICE AND SAY NICE THINGS!!!

Wow, have you ever sacrificed everything for an opportunity to think for a moment there would be greener grass on the other side?

I come to you this a.m. with a distinction about the choices we make and those we choose to surround ourselves with.

Yes, I know I have mentioned surrounding yourself with champions in life and what happens when you've done that and you are the one who isn't the champion?

What happens when you are the one who is so driven by negativity that it affects the relationships around you?

What happens when you sell someone on a dream a goal a desire of hope where they sacrifice things such as relationships with other people and healthy balance and self-love?

I am always writing as if you are so enlightened and what if... just what if you are the one doing the hurting?

What does this mean? This means that when you start pointing the finger as to why someone is not giving you what you need, just take a look at who you are being with that person.

Listen, I am the first to admit that I am not perfect, but their is an integrity that comes with being a person who can honestly take a look at a situation and move it in a positive motion. Part of moving in a positive motion is taking a situation for "face value" and recognizing what is needed in a given situation.

I know this is food for thought, and believe me this comes from a few distinctions I have made myself.

Take all of the above for what it may be worth to you!

"Paint only half of your face red and see who notices"

Have you ever seen the most amazing marketing campaign that has every bell and whistle that you could possibly imagine? The best places to find such bizarre campaigns and strategies is when going to a trade show or industry show. You see people all dressed up just attempting to grab the attention of every walker-by and attempting to create massive value and appeal in less than 3 seconds.

Commercials are no different, the hope is that in this day and age, we stay tune for just 5 seconds after a commercial break otherwise we have to get to our 5 different shows that we are watching in between commercial breaks!

The reality is, we are in a different era of technology and our pace is faster than ever. We process faster and we are less patient for the "traditional" sales pitch. Look, when a caveman is pitching products on TV or a baby is working an electronic mobile device as an adult would, we have to grab the attention from our audience much quicker!!

So, we need to think pace and how can we make those more curious about our product, service or ourselves much quicker.

If you said to yourself, that you wanted to have people stop and see what you have and who you are and what you are about...

And let's just say you decided to paint your face red!!! I am sure that people would notice and say something about the guy or gal walking around with a red face.

But, what are you doing to get the audience engaged in more than just someone walking around with a red face?

UNLESS... you paint ONLY half of your face red!!! Similar concept, you are just compelling your viewer to think a bit differently!!! and perhaps they will ask why only have of your face is painted red!!!!

Hopefully you are getting this!!

RULES: *BE NOT ONLY UNIQUE, COMPEL THOSE AROUND YOU TO ASK WHY YOU ARE UNIQUE AND DIFFERENT

* SAY LESS SHOW MORE

* BE MINDFUL THAT DIFFERENT IS BETTER THAN THE SAME OR AVERAGE

SO, DON'T JUST GO OUT AND STOP TRAFFIC, MAKE THEM WANT TO PARK THEIR CAR AND ASK QUESTIONS TO COMPEL THEM TO THINK.

Take a minute... and think about what key areas of your life that you are most grateful for.

Are you grateful for your family? Are you grateful for being able to live a life of passion? Are you grateful for having a wealth of powerful experiences that have equated to who you are today?

My challenge to you and a gift only you can give yourself, is to put your focus and attention on what you are grateful for.

Step one: Think of something that is in your life now that you never thought you could have or acquire.

Step two: Create reasons why you are an exceptional human being and why you deserve to focus on the great things in life.

Step three: Tell 3 people what you are most grateful for.

Now, this may seem a bit off for you in your busy world and may be challenging to pull off, but I challenge you just today, to be something different and add new dimensions to your life, people will notice!!

Of course when it comes to success strategies I probably have 2 dozen journals with notes from the best of the best in the business. Having had the opportunity to see many powerful speakers live, read many amazing books and have consistently turned my car into a "university on wheels;" I must say that I am always looking for extremely powerful concepts, ideas and strategies that I can take to my clients and bring to the forefront of our thinking.

I am going to introduce you to two gentlemen: Mr. Byron Nelson and Mr. Daniel Gutierez this week, and the information that they teach.

Look around... who is surrounding you? You are who you hang out with ya know!!!! Some of you want know that this is true and some of you don't want to face such a thing. This is the bottom line... if those around you are limited in their thinking or belief that they can make something happen, this doesn't mean you are, it just makes the pursuit for success, happiness, fulfillment, wealth and a plethora of other things a little tougher to grasp onto at times.

You see, as a man thinketh, so he becomes!!! Thoughts are things and the actions that we take correlate directly with the thoughts that we have on a regular basis and therefore, we are ultimately creating the results we are looking for out of life or NOT.

The reason that the people surrounding us are so crucial, it is all about their thoughts and their mindset which can help us or hurt us! We previously discussed attitude and touched on this. What about the attitudes of those around us? ACTION STRATEGY: I make it real simple, if there is someone in my life who is a complainer, is negative, has an attitude issue, I simply tell them once and also warn them that I will disappear from regular communication with them because they have become extremely unattractive as a person. Now, if they want help and they are coachable to new ideas and concepts, that is a different story. I definitely will not participate in the rotten apple game. We all have rotten apples in our lives, and these people may be great people yet they are not great for us to be around for some funny reason!

So, this may sound bold, yet it may be time to clean out the fruit bowl!!!

Jill Lublin is one of my dear PR mentors. She has taught for over several years, the art of powerful publicity. Publicity is paramount and Jill has a way of sharing such strategies in such a simple form. There are certainly some basic tactics that warrant fabulous PR moves vs. not so fabulous PR moves, I think we would all agree that if we don't take personal responsibility for our own PR we might end up in a very big sea as a drowning guppy!

PR rules:

Get visible- find a way for people to know about you through publications, BLOGS, events, books, and anything else that puts you in a light as an expert or someone special.

Speak in Sound Bytes- learn what I call the "elevator speech" and pursue your conversations with the intention of offering small sound bytes so people will remember who you are, what you're about and what benefit you have to them!

Create the ooh ahh factor- find ways to make people say "ooh ahh" about you, your product or your service that you offer. Create and find new fresh ways and stick with the plan to have people interested in what you are about.

Again, I must credit Jill Lublin for the years of PR training which has made my life so much easier in a game that can be a little vicious at times, to say the least!

How many times a day do you hear about the price of gas? How often are we bombarded by the news with the fatalities and natural disasters... and the high price of gas? I am sure you get my point!!

What's the flip side to all of this? Yes, the flip side is to get real with what is most important in life and to fear nothing. Don't you see why? Because at any time now, we could be faced with a very bleak situation, (apparently)!

The times that we are facing now make me want to not only make a difference but be the difference!

Always remember this lesson: In uncertain times, certainty matters, and those who are most certain make different life decisions that will change their destiny for the better!

Have the belief that in uncertain circumstances, you can create phenomenal opportunities for yourself and those around you!

Attitude is Everything!!!

I had an interesting experience last week... I was on an airplane en route from Las Vegas to Los Angeles and met a very interesting person sitting right next to me on the airplane. So I am on the plane and after sitting for 2 minutes, I realized I left one of my phones outside of the plane, so I thought to immediately tell the flight attendant and the person next to me that I thought I left my phone in a seat, out in the airport by check-in. The attendant was so kind and told me to hurry, get out, and check for my phone. The person next to me was equally as kind to watch my briefcase and I was so focused on my prized possession of a phone that I ran out looked for it and guess what? It was not there!!!! Well, while coming back in to enter the airplane, I realized why I actually do have two phones, TO CALL MYSELF JUST IN CASE I LOST ONE! My briefcase watcher heard my phone ring and knew that I would be back in no time, happy as a lark and en route to LA with no issue!!!!! Sure enough, I found my phone hidden in the depths of the bottom of my briefcase and it was hiding so well, I had to call it 3 times just to find it in my briefcase!! Some of you reading, can truly understand this potentially traumatic experience!

Okay, so after I settled in, I had brief conversation with the individual next to me and we started talking about speaking and backgrounds, shows etc. I knew something was different about this person and it was, I was sitting next to Mr. Dannion Brinkley, and those of you who do not know of this person please look him up and read up on him. This gentleman is one of the most interesting people whom I've ever met!! Could it be that he has an incredible story about his life that will blow people away and based on his story he wrote a NY Times bestseller, created a show, and a movie titled Saved By the Light? He has a another book THE SECRETS OF THE LIGHT.

Keep in mind, this man has had two near death experiences, and as I was speaking with him and learning at the same time, truly realized that he sees a different life than most. He had the best ATTITUDE!!! He spoke of his beautiful wife Kathryn and his 5 beautiful girls along with other things he spoke of. Yet there is one very strong characteristic I picked up on and that was his "realistic optimism" as I like to call it.

He shared such insight with me, I took mental notes and felt like I was back in college taking one of the most interesting courses! We further conversed and talked show concepts and ideas that were prize winning concepts that have compelled me to execute one of my specific goals in my life a bit more strategically.

Now, after my personal growth course on the airplane and my life lessons that will basically take me from point a to point h not just b, what surfaced is why Mr. Brinkley even bothered to talk with me at such length!!! He said it was the "real" person who showed up when she lost her phone!!!!

Something to think about!!!!!

"Networking 101"

This entire week is devoted to networking! I don' mean go to the night club and have a few, get a few names and there you have it, you've networked!!

Networking is very serious business and if you master the art of powerful networking you will increase your database and your net worth.

For starters, here are a few tips on networking:

1. Know your outcome: Why are you networking? What benefit will other powerful people in your database do for you?

2. Are you coming from a place of confidence or desperation when meeting people?

3. Are you in the right stated of mind to effectively network with top notch people?
