In this part we'll get through the levels of the 2nd and 3rd floor and face Bowser one last time.

Video 20

OK. Use the second key to open the door on the second floor, go upstairs and cross the door. Run arround this gallery till you see an arch with a door in it. Cross the door and you'll see a mirror that is not reflecting the wall correctly. You know what to do.

Leave this room and run around the gallery till you find a painting with a Skeeter on it (that bug with four legs).
The concept is to get the first star using the arrows, but is dramaticaly easier to get performing a Long Jump.
Besides that, pay attention to the 5th star because I show the location of a very useful teleport.
Keep in mind: in this level there are some switches that change the water level, but if you want a specific water level you can set it before entering the course by using the painting itself. Just go through it at the correct high.

Run arround the gallery till you find the remaining door and cross it. You-re right... three ways. The middle one is fake; has no access. But the other two are real and lead to the same world but in two different versions.
The big one leads to the giant version, while the other leads to the small one.
Although some stars are placed in one version and some in the other, I recommend you to access always through the small one, so you'll get to them more quickly.

Very well. Time to get some secret stars. In this gallery there is a staircase that leads to the 3rd floor. Just at the bottom of that staircase in front of the Skeeter painting is another Toad. Talk to him and he'll give it to you. Go upstairs, unlock the next door with the big star and cross it. Now you're in the clock room. Here's another Toad with another star. Talk to him. The next one is bit harder to get than just talking. If you look at you're sides you'll see two platforms and near them two entrances. The left one leads to a secret level of clouds with red coins. Collect all of 'em and you'll get your star. Almost forgot. If you fall you won't lose a life but you'll appear outside of the castle. Again, if that happens, you'll have to start over.

OK. Enter the clock to get to the next level. Did you know that you can control the time inside this level? It's easy. Just go through the clock at any hour but pay attention to where the minute hand is pointing.
If it's pointing to "12" time will freeze.
If it's pointing between "12" and "6" time will move normally.
If it's pointing to "6" time will get crazy and all the elements inside the clock will move backward and forward randomly.
If it's pointing between "6" and "12" time will move quickly.

Last Level. Do you remember the platforms of before? Fine. Go to the right one and you'll find an entrance similar to the other, but this time it leads to this last course.

Here we are.
The last door has no need of being unsealed but you're going to need at least 70 stars to make that staircase stop being infinite. Go upstairs and enter into the hole at the end of the stairs.
Again, collect the 8 red coins to get the last secret star and also, the last star of the game.
Defeat Bowser, recover the Great Star, and that's all.

Bonus

In this extra video I show what you get after clearing the game with all 120 stars.

1. Outside the castle, where you started your game, there was a closed cannon. Well, now that you have all of the stars it's open. Use it to get to the roof where you'll find Yoshi. Talk to him and after giving you a message from the developers of the game he'll give you two things:
- 100 lives.
- The hability to avoid harm from falling from a high place if you perform a Triple Jump and you're falling during the third jump.
Remember that these things are not permanent. You'll have to talk to him every time you play.

2. The Big Penguin at Cool, Cool Mountain will be fatter than usual, making him a little harder to beat. Pay attention at the race here; I show a little shotcut. This shortcut is available from the begining. But is not so useful because, in contrast to Koopa the Quick, the Big Penguin does not allow you to use shortcuts. So using it (or jump or fall to the part of the way below) will make him refuse to give you his star.

Let's keep moving...

In this part we'll get through the levels of the basement, get the Vanish and Metal caps and face Bowser again to win the second key of the castle. After that we'll clear Course 3.

Video 10

Now that we have the first key we have access to the basement of the castle. To get to the basement cross one of the doors with no star shape on them, placed at the sides of the main staircase. Once you cross one of the doors you'll see a hallway with a Boo and another staircase. Even though you have to follow the Boo to get to the next level, before that let's activate the blocks containing the Vanish Caps. For this you have to go downstairs and open the door with the key you got from Bowser. Go through the hallway on your right and once you cross the final door you'll be in the area where the paintings are.
There is a secret star here, available after getting at least 15 stars. To win it catch de bunny. Chasing him could only get things harder. Corner him and catch him when he tries to escape by one of the sides.
Keep moving and, from the painting of the fireball, go right and cross the unmarked door. Go through the pool and press both pillars to get rid of the water. Cross that blue door to get outside of the castle. Go right (from Mario's perspective) and go all the way there till you see a hole. That's the access to where the blue blocks switch is.
Collect the 8 red coins on your way to the switch to get another secret star. Cross the main castle door to re-enter.

We can begin we the next group of levels.
If there is something that all this levels have in common (besides they are the most problematic levels when trying to get that damn 100 coins star) is that what's drawn in the paintings has nothing to do with the level... if we can call most of them "paintings"...
Whatever, go back to where the Boo is and follow him till you go out to the backyard. You'll find a lot of Boos there but only defeat the big one on the left. This one will drop some kind of cage. Approach it and you'll enter to the next level. Remember that you're going to need the Vanish Cap to get the last star in this one.

Get back to the castle and go to the basement. From the fireball painting go right and cross the door with the star shape. That door leads to a room where the next level is. Once in, you'll see a little pool with some dark liquid. That pool is the access. But don't get in yet! There is a secret star here. To get it talk to the Toad that is on one of the corners and he'll give it to you. Now you can get in. Before go getting this level's stars we're going to activate the green blocks containing the Metal Caps. The switch for this blocks is in a secret level inside this level itself. Again, with the Metal Cap switch there are 8 red coins. Collect 'em and you'll get another secret star. Be careful not to fall off. If the current gets you and carries you to the exit you'll get outside of the castle and have to star over.

Do you remember the fireball painting? That's the next level.
Watch you're step here. Most of this level is made of lava and falling on it will take three portions of energy from you. Three strikes and you're out; remember it.
Almost forgot, to get the star 4 you have to make the log roll, by running over it, till it gets near the platform, but is easier to get to it by long jumping from the log and then "lava jumping" to the platform.

From the fireball painting go to the left. Nothing? That's what you think because that wall is the access to the next level. Go through it.
Like this level's name says there are a lot of places with shifting sands, so watch it. If you fall in them, like the ones arround the pyramid, you'll die and have to start over.

After getting at least 50 stars the bunny comes back. You know what to do.

Time to face Bowser again... well, not exactly. Before that we have to get the first star of the next level. Open the next door with the big star on it. Once you enter you'll see a wall of water. Cross it and you'll get to the next level.
Once in, dive to the bottom of the lake, go through the cave and you'll end up in a big cabern with Bowser's sub in the middle it. Look for a switch on the lateral dock and press it to make some blocks appear and use them to board the sub. Get the star and when you come out from the level you'll see that the wall moves back letting you enter to the second encounter.

You're right, there are other 5 stars in that level... but first things first: on you're way to the second encounter collect the 8 red coins to get another secret star, defeat Bowser, and get the second key.
You can save it for later, we're not going to use it yet.

If you didn't like to play Jolly Roger Bay is better for you to be pacient, this one's worse.
Be careful when getting coins (red and yellow) because in the cavern there is a big hole. That thing throws water out of the castle, so if it absorbs you, you'll get out as well and have to start over.

Personal review

This game was, for a lot of players, the reason to get the Nintendo 64.
With a simple but well focused argument and all the posible combinations of buttons when controlling Mario, as a "welcome" to this console, Super Mario 64 managed to turn into a millon seller in no time.

Description

Mario recived a letter from Princess Peach where she asks him to go see her beacuse she baked a cake for him. Once in the castle, Mario realized that the Princess was kidnaped by Bowser and imprisioned together with some kingdom citizens in the pictures and walls of the castle.
Now is up to Mario to go through all the worlds created within the pictures by Bowser to rescue the Princess or find a way to get to her.

Pros:

• Big variety of habilities present on the character
• Good number of levels to go through
• Good sound

Cons:

• Only a few objects and skills to unlock in the game
• Compared to other games, this one has a bit low graphics
• The camera control and movement can give you more than one headache, specially on narrow spaces

Let's Begin!

In this part we'll get through all the levels at the castle hall and get the Wing Cap. After that we'll face Bowser for the first time to win the key to get to the next area of the castle.

If there's something with what you're not going to have poblems here is getting the coins for the "100 Coins Power Star". Seriously, there are a lot of 'em.

Once cleared Course 2 we've got more than 10 stars so it's time to fly! Let's get the Wing Cap for that.

Go out from that room and you'll see a light coming from the ceiling to the Sun on the floor at the center of the hall (this light appears when you get 10 stars). Place yourself in the center of the light and, in first person mode, look at the source of the light. You'll appear flying in a level where you have to press the switch placed on the tower to make the Wing Cap blocks (red ones) turn solid. There are 8 red coins too. Get all of them to get the first castle's secret star.
Once you press the switch the light will disappear but the level will still be available; just look at the source like before and you'll be there again.

Now that we can fly is time to go back to the first level to clear it.
Is usually easier to get the 100 coins star when getting the red coins but sometimes like this is better to get them looking for another star bacause of the way you have to go to get it. This time, for example, you're going to need the coins floating in the sky. Of course, you can try get them "cannoning" but is easier flying once you have the skill.

Time to get to a part of the game that, for someone like me who dislikes water levels, can be a little annoying.

The next level is in the room behind the door sealed with a "3" on the right side of the Hall. But before entering this level let's get another secret star in this room. Take a look at the walls at your sides. You see two holes. The left one has a 1-UP and the right one is the entrance to a secret level where the star is. Once there get the red coins and the star is yours. This level is 100% water, but don't worry about the air; you can recover it by getting coins.
