It’s Official!

After months of sitting on this most delicious secret, I can now reveal that due to the tireless work of my amazing Producer Gillian Carr, my feature film has been picked up the UK in a coproduction deal with Island Pictures – a hugely respected company headed by renown script editor and writer Dominic Minghella. I will start work with Dominic in the very near future on a polish of the script. I can’t wait! I have a feeling I am going to learn so much. More news to follow but for now, let’s just say there’s more delicious secrets that cannot yet be revealed. Keep you posted!

Writing on Christmas Island

So here I am on Christmas Island, visiting my family – my Dad is the Administrator here. Sadly, we arrived the day after the terrible boat tragedy. Everyone is still recovering – the survivors and the Islanders included. Though for those who survived, I don’t know how they will ever completely recover from something so traumatic. Despite walking into this event, I have to say it’s a beautiful place – unspoiled, raw, and charming. I am working on a screenplay while I am here. It’s due at the end of January. So here I am writing in the tropics, my deadline looming, looming I say. While it sounds all very romantic to be writing in such a beautiful environment it leaves me feeling so terribly conflicted because frankly, I want to go snorkeling! It would seem there is no rest for the wicked. T xx

Website update

It’s been a long, long time since we’ve updated the site and we figured it was finally time to get on top of things. So what’s been happening? Well, writing, lots and lots of writing. Following Sumo Mouse, Tania went onto writing the pilot episode for Truly Madly Kyla (TMK), a production that is being helmed by Moody Street Kids (as are all of Tania’s other projects). TMK was extremely well received and is looking like going into production in early 2012.

Tania’s latest draft of her own feature film, Virtually Kitty, has been setting the world on fire – unfortunately we are unable to say any more at this point but promise to update the site as soon as we are cleared to do so.

Tania’s also working on a feature version of the G2G series she worked on a few years ago. Again we can’t go into detail suffice it to say that there is a big player waiting on the next draft which is due in March 2011.

Finally, Tania and Miho Suzuki Gollings have developed an exciting TV series which is looking to go into production next year. Once again (yawn) we can’t go into detail but we truly are hoping to stay on top of this blogging caper.

Moving and shaking

After 10 months Tania has completed her work as script editor on the children’s animated series Sumo Mouse. But then, completely out of the blue, she has been signed up to write the pilot episode for a brand new series. As soon as that’s done it’s onto the telemovie… yes, you heard right, telemovie! Unfortunately, we’re unable to go into details but it’s all systems go at this point.

Between projects, Tania’s taking a short break during which she is working hard devising a new tv project in collaboration with Chris Anastassiades (The Wog Boy, Yolngu Boy). Though it too is pretty top secret, rumour has it that it draws largely on Tania’s experiences in the world of showbiz. Tania was pretty tight lipped about it other than to say

it’s controversial, courageous and damned near the most hilarious thing I’ve ever done…and I’ve only written the first page!

Girl Friday won the coveted Best Entertainment award at the 14th annual AIMIA Awards in Sydney on Friday 7 March. The AIMIA Awards are the peak Australian multimedia industry awards, acknowledging excellence in new media content production.

A judging panel of over 120 Australian and international experts from across the interactive media spectrum selected 21 award winners from a high calibre of finalists, ranging from small businesses to larger, well-established organisations.
