Kandi Burress of RHOA Ex-Fiance Killed in Atlanta

My condolences go out to Kandi Burress and the family of her ex-fiance Ashley "AJ" Jewell. AJ was murdered last night at a popular strip club by the name of Body Tap in Atlanta, Ga. Kandi was 1/4 of the platinum selling Xscape and a current cast member of The Real Housewives of Atlanta.

According to WSBTV: "Atlanta police told Channel 2 Action News that Jewell received a severe head injury during a fight at The Body Tap Club in the 1200 block of Marietta Boulevard in Atlanta. " "It appears he was involved in an altercation in the parking lot and he received a severe blow to the head," said Atlanta Police Lt. Keith Meadows. Meadows said Jewell was taken to Piedmont Hospital where he later died."

Since the report this morning an arrest has been made. "Police said Fredrick Richardson is charged with voluntary manslaughter and currently being held at Grady Detention due to his injuries. Authorities said Richardson will be transported to the Fulton County Jail once he is cleared by medical personnel."

Kandi has commented via her Twitter page about the untimely situation: "I could never in a million years imagine this happening. Please pray for A.J.'s children ... that's who i'm the most concerned for. I'm about to give my swollen eyes some rest now. I just wanted to say thanks two everyone for their prayers," said Burruss.

Keep Kandi and The Jewell family in your prayers. My condolences go out to this man, son, and father of 6 kids. This senseless violence must stop. When will it end?

Singer Mashonda confronts Alicia Keys regarding being a homewrecker

I made a post previously regarding Alicia Keys dating married Producer Swizz Beatz. Well it was just a rumor then, now it is all out! They are a couple and are open with it. Swizz Beatz is still married, but has left his wife, singer Mashonda, and is now in a real relationship with Alicia Keys.

Mashonda recently tweeted a whole damn letter to Alicia via twitter and here's a few paragraphs from that long letter:

"If you are reading this Alicia, let me start by saying, you know what you did. You know the role you played and you know how you contributed to the ending of my marriage. You know that I asked you to step back and let me handle my family issues. Issues that you helped to create.Im not saying everything was perfect all the time but no relationship is perfect. We made a vow to God and I believe you should have respected that, as a woman. I know you owe me or my son nothing but I just wish you would’ve handled things more carefully. I’m not judging you, I put you and the whole situation in the hands of God, the Higher Power. Just know that as a woman, I expected so much more from you. I never had intentions on reaching out to you this way but after reading your twits tonight, and the constant disregard, you left me no choice. I feel that after 1 and a half years of you hiding this affair and acting like it doesnt exist, that now is the time to confront it, since you talk so openly about it now."

"This is not a publicity stunt, I dont have a record coming out. I just need to close this chapter in my life and that means confronting our issues. There is a small child involved. His dad loves him to death and he wants to spend more time with him but hes afraid because he knows we don’t have a relationship. This is my main concern. My son NEEDS his dad and I NEED to be comfortable with you. For him!"

"I read your tweets tonight and I felt they were very insensitive. You have no idea how much pain I was caused because of this affair. Its baffling to me that you don’t understand what I might have gone through with this situation. I dont consider myself a victim anymore, Ive learned alot from this! I just ask you to try and be a bit more realistic and delicate to the situation, at least until my divorce is final. I felt me attending the party would have been a starting point for us, since you shook my hand after I offered it, but I suppose I was wrong."

I use to do a model spotlight on the blog when I first started, but my content changed up a little bit. Well I have made a new buddy and she is a model by the name of ZeEnna. Sooo I have slept on Letoya Luckett for a while. I was kind of not liking her music before. I was like she is made for the background. I just didn't feel like she came hard enough with her music. Buttttt I think she has come around. I am feeling the direction that her music is going in. Letoya has definitely emerged as a stand out artist. OMG this has got to be one of my favorite events of the year so far..... Heineken's Red Star Soul Tour Dallas starring DJ D-Nice, Estelle, and Big Boi hosted by Kevin Hart. Free Heinekens all night, funny ass host, and great music. The Ghostbar was a very grown and sexy venue. The green decor along with free Heinekens really set the scene. Here's a few pics of the happenings at the event. I really want to thank Heineken for putting on another great event. Last year was off the chain as well.

Soooo the asshole of 2009 awards goes out to Kanye "dumbass" West. I was absolutely embarrassed for Beyonce and Taylor Swift last night on the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards. Taylor Swift won the award for best Female Video and while accepting her first award ever Kanye jumps his tail up there and snatches the mic from her. He goes on blabbing how Beyonce has the best video out there. Ok Kanye, we know that, but let Taylor get her props. Taylor has one of the best selling c.d.s of the year and has won numerous awards elsewhere.

When the camera turned on Beyonce she was in shock. Beyonce shook her head in amazement and I can only imagine what was going on inside her head. Mrs. Carter did win Video of the Year and she showed us how humble and gracious she is. Beyonce invited Taylor out to finish her acceptance speech. I really do admire Bey for doing that.

Some celebs expressed their pov's on their Twitter pages. My favs were Pink and Katy Perry.

All I can say is Kanye has really showed his ass and I am happy that he got put out for the rest of the show. Oh yeah he blamed it on the alcohol.... see the pic above.

8 Year Anniversary of Aaliyah's Death

I had to take time out of my evening to pay tribute to the late and great Aaliyah. Today marks the 8th year anniversary of her death. Aaliyah died on August 25, 2001 in a plane crash. Aaliyah didn't die alone, a few of her closest friends and staff also perished. She was such a talented woman, and the chicks in the game now could have learned something from her.

Michael Jackson passes away at the age of 50

I am very sad to say that the King of Pop, Michael Jackson, passed away today. Michael, age 50, went into cardiac arrest in his home today and passed away once at the hospital. He was pronounced dead @ 2:29 pm pst.

I will do a MJ tribute post later.... just can't do it now. We've lost another icon today and the world will never be the same.

Rest in peace Farrah Fawcett.... who also passed away today from Cancer @ the age of 62.

Don Ghotti of DGPR Inc.

I finally had the chance to attend a Don Ghotti Management event in Atlanta, Georgia. On Saturday June 13, 2009 Mixtape Couture took place at The Atlanta Bench. The Bench acts as a live music venue/art gallery. If you are a true Hip Hop head you should've been there. There was live performances by o8o of the Thunderkatz, Chey N., Vorheez and many more!

Most of the songs that were performed at Mixtape Couture were featured on The Adventures of Don Ghotti and Don Pitts Vol. 3. The two artists that stood out the most to me were Chey N. and Vorheez. They are two hell-of- a performers. lol Chey N has the appearance of a model with a soft side, but when that chick picks up the mic she wrecks havoc. She spits with a certain fluidity that I haven't seen from a female emcee and she can also sing and dance. Talk about a triple talent. YOU should definitely google/youtube her.

Voreheez is well known in Atlanta and the mixtape circuit for a song titled "Nuvo". That song is a definite club banger. Also in attendance was Dex Brown of DGPR Inc, June Plumm, LT. Moe (super producer), DJ L-Marr, and a host of other fellow Georgians. I feel like this was a showcase of all showcases. True talent and network at its finest.
