What a lovely Taormina hotel with great, friendly staff and fantastic service.
We had the Garden suite which had its own
sitting room. It was very relaxing just chilling/reading in the late afternoon having out own private space to relax in. The roof top terrace for breakfast with views of Etna was stunning. Breakfast itself could have been a banquet! Plenty of choice for everyone. The hotel itself is located about a 10-15 amble from the main tourist area of Taormina which makes for a pleasant stroll back after dinner. It wouldn’t be a fair review if I didn’t point out the bad parts. The air con in the room didn’t appear to work (not cold enough for me) and the shower head was to close to the wall!
If you want good restaurant recommendations, speak with Riccardo. He recommended 2 excellent venues. 1 slight niggle was the other recommendation was exceptionally poor. When guests are staying in as Hotel of this quality and staying in a suite, one expects the staff to have an understanding of guest requirements (having explained where we ate the previous night).
If we return to Taormina, we will certainly stay in Hotel Villa Carlotta!

The Taorminan seabed is famous for its abundance of fish and for its crystal clear water. With this in mind the Hotel Villa Carlotta offers its guests a unique diving package.

Expert multilingual guides will guide you around the Taorminan seabed with dives only one minute distance from the boat. You will have the chance to see many different types of tropical fish, starfish, eels, lobsters and white and saddled bream. The dives are easy and for all levels.

The dive starts with a plunge in the small lagoon which reaches a depth of about 18m. You then enter a tunnel of about 5m to arrive inside the “Grotta Azzurra”.

What a genuinely terrific stay with our two young children. A warm welcome and after staying in a smaller suite, were offered a larger one on the second night for the rest of the week. While we were out the staff moved everything for us and put them in the exact same spot in the new suite – hairbrush from dresser to dresser and scarf over the back of the chair and so on. How kind?? This spells out how you are treated at this beautiful small hotel. Breakfast is golden, sunny and special. Something to look forward to. Some hotels start clock watching and clearing up near the end but not here, still refilling lovely homecooked foods and freshly squeezed juices til ypu wish to leave, which is hard to do given the views for miles, the sunny terrace and the smiley staff. We felt very welcome with our kids who were treated kindly, given little art packs and had beautiful little beds made up with their teddies on each day. The location is perfect, glorious views and a nice stroll to centre of town givng convenience and a quiet sleep. Couldnt complain about a single thing except having to leave. The decor is understated and classy and the people are just lovely. From searching the whole dining room for a pot of the right flavour jam for my son, to hand made biscuits for the kids lunch, free drinks in the pretty tower room on the day of departure. We really loved it and came away so rested and happy. Thanks to everyone, your efforts are appreciated, we hope to come back next year to room 15.

We have just finished, unfortuneatly, our third visit to Taormina Hotel Villa Carlotta. As usually the service was more than excellent. Thanks to Simona and Riccardo we enjoyed an outing to Mount Etna and to one of the leading vineyards in Sicily. We also enjoyed some fine cuisine at Villa Carlotta’s thanks to Chef Antonella and the service provided by Marco in the dining room. One small piecer of advice to Mr Quartucci (hotel director and owner). Do your utmost to keep your personnel with your hotel, as we can honestly say that we have been around hotels in the world but have never met such friendly and helpful staff as you have. We will be seeing you again in the near future.
