Dear Parents,

I hope this letter finds you well. As you know, our school is gearing up for an exciting series of basketball tournaments, and The Friends of Taos Charter School is thrilled to announce that each event is not just about the game but also a fantastic fundraiser for your child’s classroom.

Please be aware that there have been some changes to the dates due to scheduling adjustments. Kindly review the updated schedule below and mark your calendars:

– January 20: Hosted by Student Council and 6th grade

– February 3: Hosted by 1st grade

– February 10: Hosted by 2nd grade

– February 17: Hosted by 3rd Grade

– February 24: Hosted by 4th grade

– March 2: Hosted by 7th grade

– March 9: Hosted by 8th grade

– March 16: Hosted by 5th and Governing Council

To accommodate your busy schedules, we’ve arranged four time slots for you to choose from:

– 7:30 to 10:30 AM: Set up and morning games

– 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM: Afternoon games

– 1:30 PM to 4:30 PM: Late afternoon games

– 4:30 PM to 7:30 PM: Evening games and clean-up

Please note on the sign-up that if you sign up for food donations, most items can be brought to the office on the Friday before your game day or on the day you volunteer. Your generosity truly makes a difference.

Notification:

The Taos Municipal Charter School is seeking to fill two open teaching positions. We are in need of a Special Education Teacher and a Certified Bilingual Teacher. We have posted these openings. If you know of any qualified applicants, please let us know.

With the end of the COVID-19 Public Health Emergency, Medicaid and SNAP recipients will need to renew their benefits when they are notified. Please encourage your students and families to update their contact information online today. Medicaid renewals are critically important to ensure continued health coverage for New Mexico students and families. Please support these efforts by communicating with families about how to renew their Medicaid and SNAP coverage.

4th – 8th Grade Ski Club

Dear Parent(s),

TCS riding program will be taking place on Tuesdays for five (5) consecutive weeks starting January 9, 2024. We will meet at TCS at 7:45am, please don’t be late. Pick-up at the end of the day will be 5:00pm. Students who live on the north end of town can catch the bus at the Arroyo Seco community center at 8:20 and pick up at 4:15. There will be no program if school is closed or delayed due to inclement weather.

Deadline for registration is December 15, 2023. NO EXCEPTIONS – this is a TSV deadline!

-This year Taos Ski Valley is going to an online registration system. Please see all attached forms.

-Riding club will follow all Taos Charter School and Taos Ski Valley COVID protocols.

-Lunch Students can bring their own lunch or buy lunch at TSV. A limited number of sack lunches will be available for those who need one. The TSV facility that we base out off is a Nut-Free facility.

$165 for all participants (includes free rental equipment and lessons). $122 for dependents of TSV. Pay on line. Deadline for registration is December 15, 2023
