Gaffers tape is again given the credit for avoiding a “wardrobe malfunction”, this time saving songstress Christina Aguilera form an embarassement during her performance on NBC’s The Voice”.

Apparently there was a lot more to hold the audience’s attention than just her duet with contestant Chris Mann.

It has long been a wardrobe person’s inside secret that strategic use of gaffers tape could prevent a celebrity from showing more than they attended. Oscar, Grammy and Emmy appearances have all been supported over the years by the fashion fix all.

Lady Gaga, in a recent Twitter photo run by the British web site Dailymail.co, recently bared her breast for the camera, showing a little strategically placed gaffers tape that appeared to be holding her together, rather than her clothes.

Duct Tape World Record Broken

Chuck and David Williams of Jackson, TN have broken the world record for duct taping someone to the wall.

Chuck taped his son David to the wall in 32 seconds, shaving almost 10 seconds off of the old record.

In order for the record to stand, someone must remain suspended off the floor for a least a minute, held by just the tape.

Duct Tape Floats Their Boat

Mississippi high school students built a duct tape boat as part of a fund raising effort for threir friend Tyler Youngblood, who is battling leukemia.

They launched their duct tape canoe in the Biloxi Small Craft Harbor in order to raise awareness and money.

Unfortunately, after they rescue their friend, the boat builders may need to be rescued too. Their boat sank!

The London Olympics are four months away, but gaffers tape has already won a medal.

Sara Edworthy, venue coordinator for this years Olympics, spends her days looking for loose door knobs, drooping signs and thousand of other problems that might prevent smooth operations when the games begin.

Once the games get started, she will head up the emergency site team, a group of high level volunteers who will stand by, ready to pounce on any problem that crop up.

There’s A Car In There Somewhere

Florida technical college student Patrick Varnadore rose to the challenge of his classmates by covering his 1986 Chrysler with duct tape. He’s about 60 percent finished with covering the car with orange tape and is working on recreating the look of the car from the Dukes of Hazard television show completely with tape.

Varnadore’s feat will be submitted to the Guiness Book of World Records (we have no idea what sort of record he is shooting for) and will also gain him entry into a scholarship competition to win $10,000 from a company that promotes monster truck racing.

Van Halen Held Together With Gaffers Tape

The success of the most recent Van Halen tour has meant that lots of stories have resurfaced about the best and worst of the band’s journey through the rock touring universe.

Some of the most interesting tales involve the times prior to their 2004 reunion tour when Sammy Hagar described bandmate Eddie Van Halen’s shoddy appearance, including wearing boots held together with gaffers tape and his big toe sticking out.
