You can still order in time for Christmas!

Is there still a way to place Christmas orders? YES THERE IS!

It may be too late to get a print under the tree but that doesn't mean you can't still give incredible Christ-centered art for Christmas! A customer introduced us to a great idea a few years ago. Since he was calling the week of Christmas, he knew there was no way to get a print made in time for Christmas (yes, we do MAKE these prints, by hand, right here in America for every order) and so he came up with an ingenious idea... he printed out a picture of the print from the website and wrapped that in a card under the tree. His order came the next week, his wife had something under the tree, he told us it was a big hit.

So, there still is a way to give the gift of the Gospel in Art this year!

To make it easier, take 10% off your last minute Christmas order! At checkout, use Promo Code: Last Minute (Good til Dec 24th)

Use our Paitings for Easter!

Did you know that YOU, your CHURCH or your MINISTRY can use Ron DiCianni's paintings as part of our efforts to encourage, reach out and impact people with the Gospel?

Every year we receive hundreds of Image Usage requests from all around the world. Whether in their church bulletins, on their website or Facebook page, in a new book or postcard or banner (in dozens of cool ways!), all these organizations have the same desire, to use visuals to proclaim the Gospel Message.

Here at Tapestry we love these requests! It is always such a privilege to help people use the paintings God has entrusted us with with to minister to others.

You don't have to be a big ministry or a certain denomination to request usage of the images! What you do need to do is send an email to our Image Usage Team: Usage<@>TapProd.com (take out the <>'s)telling us:

1. Who you are. :) (make sure to include phone AND email info)
2. Which image you want to use.
3. How you want to use it.

That's it! Our Image Usage team will look it over and get back to you (usually takes 3-5 days).

Most of time using our images is free for non-profit & ministry based uses (there may be a small fee to cover our cost in processing the request)!

And... Easter is right around the corner so get your requests in soon!

Our Problem with World Vision's Response

The Problem we have with World Vision’s Response:

Yesterday Child Sponsorship Mega-Ministry World Vision announced a reversal of its decision to allow “married” homosexuals to serve in its supposedly Christ-centered ministry.

In the apology World Vision President Richard Stearns apologized, sounded contrite and pledged fidelity to Biblical Authority.

But in reading over their statement a few times something keeps gnawing at the back of our minds. There’s a glaring problem with their response. We discuss it below and the reproduce the entire World Vision Statement at the bottom of this post.

First, we want to be clear, we are a Christian Arts & Communications Ministry cleverly disguised as a company. We are not a church (although our CEO is a pastor). We are not the “Christian police”. We are just a ministry that desperately wants to see message of Jesus Christ as Savior proclaimed. And, we are sick. Sick and tired of watching “Christians” forget that following Christ means that you actually have to follow Christ. Not just the parts or teachings you like. And so it is in those veins we offer this post:

World Vision stated that:

“The Board acknowledged that the they made a mistake and chose to revert to our longstanding conduct policy requiring sexual abstinence for all single employees and faithfulness within the Biblical covenant of marriage between a man and a woman…

[W]e failed to be consistent with World Vision U.S.’s commitment to the traditional understanding of Biblical Marriage and our Statement of Faith…

We are brokenhearted over the pain and confusion that we caused many of our friends who saw this decision as a reversal of our strong commitment to Biblical Authority…

We pray you will continue to join with us in our mission to be an international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…

Ok, here’s our problems with that World Vision:

1) Your mission statement, faith statement, conduct policy, etc, etc, etc are worth absolutely nothing. They are man created and not worth wasting a breath on. They are not authoritative. What is authoritative is the Word of God. You did not “transgress” your conduct policy, you transgressed the Word of God. The fact that you don’t seem to see that scares us a bit.

2) As to the “…we failed to be consistent to…” part, as in point 1 above, the failure here is in failing to be consistent to the Bible. The biblical and clear call is that homosexuality is sin, that unrepentant sinners do not share in the Kingdom and that marriage is God organized between a man and a woman. Those truths are acknowledged nowhere in World Vision’s statement.

3) As we read the apology, we’re fighting the nagging voice in our head that says World Vision is doing one of those “we’re sorry you’re upset” apologies, rather then “we’re really sorry, we blew it”. Note the “We are brokenhearted over the pain and confusion that we caused many of our friends who saw this decision as a reversal of our strong commitment to Biblical Authority…” No, No, No. It WAS a reversal of correct Biblical teaching. It’s not “seen” as anything. The decision to affirm gay marriage by allowing homosexuals to serve in ministry at a Christ centered organization is nothing short of a repudiation of 1st Corinthians 6:9 & 7:12, Romans 1:26-27, Genesis 2:18 & 24, Hebrews 13:4 & Matthew 19:4-5 (just to name a few). That World Vision can’t see that or won’t admit it scares us.

4) As to “international partnership of Christians whose mission is to follow our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ…” Well, that’s really it, isn’t it? If World Vision were really striving to follow Jesus, then there should have never been a question about gay “marriage”. The Bible is very clear on that, as is Jesus’ own words. Further, saying you are an international partnership of “Christians” does not mean you actually are. Sadly, several of the denominations that World Vision partners with have gone the way of the world and are no longer standing on authentically Biblical teaching. How much of Jesus can you ignore before it’s not Jesus you are following? And that’s the real issue here. As we said in our initial response, as a private entity, you can do whatever you want but when you claim the name of Christ a whole new set of requirements comes with that, namely to follow Christ!

For all of those reasons, we fear World Vision’s apology has missed the point. They did not make a policy decision out of line with their human created directives. They failed to operate within a basic understanding of Sin, our Savior and what the Bible teaches on Marriage. And then they failed to acknowledge that in their apology. That suggests something is seriously wrong at the top of World Vision’s Leadership. Heck, the fact that their board couldn’t immediately see “hey, we’re going against the Bible here” is a glaring, unresolved issue.

For whatever that’s worth, we offer the above. Not to badmouth or disparage but again in the framework of James 5:19-20.

Child Sponsorship Behemoth - Wold Vision - the largest Christian child sponsorship agency - has announced that it will hire "Christians" in homosexual "marriages".

What? What?????

Look, we're a Christian Fine Art Company so maybe we should keep our mouths shut and just go paint something.

Nah. There's a great saying, "Silence is consent". While we can't tilt at every windmill there are some things that are so beyond the pale as to require a clear defense of Truth from all Christians. The sanctity of marriage as God designed it is one of them. Here at Tapestry we have always said we are a ministry first, organized as a business and that we are here to be about the things of God first.

Look, let's be clear: World Vision can do whatever it wants as a private entity. That's one of the beauties of America. However once it claims to be a "Christian" entity, then a whole new set of requirements come into play - namely to walk in accordance with Christ.

Since the Bible is crystal clear on homosexuality being a sin (Romans 1:26-27, 1 Corinthians 6:9) we're not sure how a Christian ministry can hire people who are steeped in ongoing sin. What does the Bible say on this? "We know that God's children do not make a practice of sinning..." 1 John 5:18

Folks, we know the popular thing is to just ignore the Bible if it says something we don't like but that's like a kid burying his head under the covers in the morning when mom or dad try to get them out of bed and saying if I don't see my parents I don't have to listen to them. It won't work and 5 minutes later they're merely going to have a very angry parent instead.

More to the point, the announcement from World Vision states two interesting things. First that they will start hiring "married" homosexuals. We'd love to know, does that mean they have been hiring single homosexuals for a while now?

The second thing, and if it weren't so serious, the hypocrisy would be funny, is that World Vision announced they still expect their employees to sign a statement of faith and remain abstinent outside of marriage. Geee... where did they get requirement? Hmmmmmm... oh yeah, the BIBLE. So, they do like the no sex before marriage part of 1st Corinthians, but don't like the no homosexuality command a few lines earlier. Hmmm...how can the same book be authoritative on one issue, and dis-regardable on another.

Oh, yeah, it can't.

World Vision, you have derailed. And Biblically, James 5:19-20 tells us that we are to show a sinner the error of his ways. You have erred. Turn back to God or you risk having one very angry Parent on your hands.

Don't Pass the Milk - Round 2

As much as we hate to say it, you still can't buy Girl Scout cookies and call yourself Pro-Life. Well, you can, you're just being dishonest.

As our friends over at the Before I Formed You Foundation remind us again, supporting the Girl Scouts means supporting Abortion.

Here's their post on the issue along with some links so you can make an informed choice but for us, it's pretty clear that the Girl Scouts not merely support abortion but actively works to promote the killing of babies in the womb.
