Hayden, still not even two years old, is already trying to master the perfect shave. After weeks of diligently studying my technique, he ventures out on his own. He still has some learning to do—mainly that diaper ointment doesn’t make the best shaving cream—but at least he is trying.

Born in the Wrong Decade – Using the Strait Razor

I’ve been called Wolverine and Hugh Jackman more than once for my beard and wolf-like hair combination, and as much as I love that, I’ve decided to change up the look this year.

Pursuit of the Perfect Shave

It may sound ridiculous, but I wanted to get rid of the beard—and keep it off—in the best way possible. No more electric mini-mower chopping at my skin each morning, or scraping the Mach-5 across my face while wondering if yet another blade on this thing would do the trick.

There had to be something better than this without going to the cut throat barber every morning.

The Perfect Shave

Last weekend my wife said my face was as smooth and soft as hers. I think it’s safe to say that I’ve found the answer in the classic strait razor shave. All the details aside, this way of shaving is the way to go. The results couldn’t be better.

However, my wife now thinks I was born in the wrong decade…

On mornings that Hayden wakes up before me, he runs to my side, crawls in bed, and then anxiously looks around for something to do. The first thing he normally finds is my glasses sitting on the nightstand. As the glasses hit my face he shouts, On, On…On…

The other day he got a hold of them for himself, and here is the result.

My Neck – Before and After

Six and a half years ago, I broke my neck in a snowboarding accident. Today, it’s finally starting to look better. The left side of the picture is my neck six months ago, the right is my neck today. Yikes!
