The message of the Tarot is more profound than most people realise. Usually people come to a reader for a quick answer to a problem or to seek reassurance that their wishes will be fulfilled. The Tarot has much deeper messages than this.

The Major Arcana is the story of life. It charts a course of personal spiritual development and the acquisition of wisdom. This can be in stark contrast to the way many people behave these days. Individualistic and competitive attitudes lead to a disrespect for others and a lack of consideration.Consequences of behaviour are overlooked until it is too late.

Advised use of the Tarot and an understanding of its spiritual message can be much more than a "quick fix" to a problem. It can alter a person's whole approach to life.

Expectations of a Tarot Card reading.

Having been a Tarot card reader for many years (since I was about 15 in fact), I realise that clients have different expectations of Tarot readings. Some people sit down and look at a Tarot reader as though s/he can tell what they had for breakfast! This misapprehension stems from a lack of understanding about the nature of divination, it's subtleties and processes.

A reading with, say, 15 cards can give an indication of the possibilities around a person for perhaps a couple of years. It will show areas of opportunity, possible problems, important trends and a range of single issues. A reader will usually focus on a particular question if you ask. Sometimes it's just good to listen and hear what comes out first of all and then focus on what's important to you specifically.

Sometimes Tarot Readers are accused of being vague. This is because of the interplay of potentials and the client's actual choices. Tarot reading is about discerning possibilites to a large extent. For instance, a new job or a new romance (common questions) may be available to a person but that client may not be aware or willing to follow that option, in which case the opportunity will be lost.

Expect to be told the options but not which choices to make. That is up to you.
