For those of you that have been following me you know that I just got back from Hawaii for my Godsons first birthday. Sadly I was only there for 6 days, and although I didn't get to see ALL of my family while I was in town, the party was a success =) I was up almost every night super late trying to help with party favors etc... and hang out with my cousins and my new friends.
I finally went paddle boarding for the first time, thanks to my cousin. I got to spend a *little* time in the ocean, not nearly as much as I wanted to, however I'll take what I can get.

I took video and photos of my trip and will be making a video and posting it on my youtube channel as soon as I am done with editing.

All in all it was a great trip, I feel so honored that I got to help celebrate my godsons first birthday, especially because I was unable to be there for his birth and his baptism. Im sad that the trip was so short, but soooo thankful for the amazing family and friends that God has blessed me with.

Music of the Moment:

One of my FAVORITE things about being back home in Hawaii, is being able to turn on the radio and listen to the music that I actually want to hear and not have to shuffle through my iPhone! I came across some new songs and some that I have heard before my trip...but right now I am loving "Rooted" by Kimie and Irie Love. No matter where I am or what I'm doing I'll never forget where I come from.

This past Saturday (Jan 14th) was super awesome... I got to see my best friend Mrs. Chelsea Smith (@Mayochelsea). We went up to the "hills" a.k.a. Colfax where she is from to surprise her mom and celebrate her birthday. We hung out with the fam, rode the quad around the "mountains", watched the niner game, and watched Adele's Live in concert DVD....WOW.

Which brings me to....

Music of the Moment:

I have always been an Adele fan, but after seeing (part of) that DVD. I love her even more. Her talent is so raw and pure, she has SO much soul and the lyrics to her music are so deep. If you don't have it already, you should definitely buy her album, it is well worth the money. Hopefully I will be doing open mics and recording covers of her songs and other artists soon. When I do, you can find those on my YouTube channel (tasha0227). Those of you that are friends on my fb may have already seen this video, but if you haven't check out this piece created by Keoni Madrid & Mariel Martin its CRAZYYY amazing...

Fitness Update:

I have been TRYING...I repeat...TRYING to get on a consistent schedule where I can workout at the same time everyday in the early morning, with enough time to get ready afterwards and continue on with the rest of my day, before work and soon school. I admit that I skipped a couple of days, simply because P90X workouts are usually at LEAST an hour long. Because I haven't been working out as much as I'd want to, I am really trying to eat as healthy as I can. I find that it is really difficult to try and eat healthy in a house where that's not really a priority. Below are some personal favorites of mine =)

(Middle left) Chipotle Chicken Burrito Bowl {myFav!} (Bottom left) another favorite...Honey flavored Greek Yogurt with granola and a little honey mixed in.

Quick update:
I FINALLY bought my ticket to CHICAGO! I am soooo excited I get to see my good friend Jvani! I can't wait to see the city and all of the things it has to offer. After 5 years of wanting to visit her I am finally going mid-February.

if you don't know what it is...its basically a virtual pinboard where you can post and find inspirational photos/videos that you and other people have put up. You can follow people, share your posts, repin etc...[below] is one of my favorite photos from Pinterest. It's a photo of the beach with the bible verse Jeremiah 29:11, which has had a HUGE impact on my life. It's my go-to motivational verse for 2012 =)

I finally started p90x again today. yayyyy!
Completed the CoreSynergistics work out. Day 1 of 90 DONE!

I woke up this morning inspired by the New Year...and oddly enough, by Pinterest. My goals for 2012 are to get healthy, stay positive, move forward in life and to stay motivated. I am looking forward to what 2012 has to offer and I hope that you all will follow me on my journey...
