A FOUNDATION I DON'T MIND WEARING & THE PERFECT MATTE LIPSTICK

Let’s talk foundation and lipstick. Two things that now rarely ever make it into my makeup routine and when they do, it really must mean that they’ve hit the spot on a major level for me.

I’ve recently been wearing foundation and lipstick a little more often than usual, and that’s all down to The Body Shop’s new releases.

Admittedly, I’ve become more of a skincare girl as I’ve got older so my primary focus is to make sure my skin is as good as it can be so that I don’t feel the need to cover it up with makeup. I do however, still really love enhancing my skin whilst keeping my look pretty light and natural.

That being said, I’ll get into the foundation first as it was this product that surprised me the most.

So I’ve already said that I don’t really wear foundation that often anymore, but when I do I prefer it to be light, natural looking and dewy. The Body Shop foundation is matte and full coverage. I repeat… matte and full coverage. The total opposite of what I would usually go for, but somehow it works for me. I think the combination of it being breathable, lightweight and tea tree oil enriched is what makes it so special. The Matte Clay Skin Clarifying Foundation sits on the skin beautifully without that thick, heavy feeling you would usually get from a matte foundation. As well as this, I feel like it lets your skin breathe whilst the tea tree is actively benefiting your skin throughout the day and with a light application this foundation lets your natural skin shine through whilst absorbing any shine from oil prone areas. Providing 24 hour coverage that is breathable and natural looking, this foundation is a great match for all skin types and I definitely know which foundation I’ll be reaching for over the summer months.

Onto the lisptick. To me, there is nothing better than a matte liquid lipstick so this fit my preferred lipstick criteria perfectly from the get go. When you first apply the product, it glides on seamlessly more like a creamy lipgloss but as it dries it sets into this beautifully velvet matte lip without your lips feeling like they are about to crack. There are 17 colours ranging from the lightest to deepest of shades and I would wear every single one, each beautifully rich and intense in colour but also just generally gorgeous shades. Much like the foundation, these lip colours are surprisingly lightweight and last all day leaving your lips feeling soft and luscious which of course has to be down to the fact that they are enriched with Community Trade marula oil from Namibia and Community Trade beeswax from Cameroon.

Both the lipsticks and foundations are cruelty free (something I’ve always loved about The Body Shop) and the lipsticks are also 100% vegetarian as well as being gluten and carmine free - bonus!

THE BODY SHOP FACE MISTS YOU NEED IN YOUR LIFE

Let me introduce you to The Body Shop’s brand new face mists.

There are 5 delicious scents, which are each to be used for different purposes to suit whatever your skin needs and I’m gonna share my 3 favourite ones with you.

Let’s start with the Rose Dewy Face Mist. I mean… it says it all in the name. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love healthy, dewy looking skin. That ‘I drink 9 litres of water a day, sleep 7 hours every night, workout everyday and eat the healthiest food known to man’ glow from within. And that is precisely what the reflective particles in this beauty of a face mist gives you! If your skin is feeling dull and lacklustre just a few spritzes of this will leave you looking and smelling like an angel that has descended from the heavens above. How could you not when this contains gorgeous ingredients such as raspberry essence, cherry water from France and Community Trade aloe vera all the way from Mexico as well as British rose essences which is also Community Trade? This delight is also 100% vegan which I know will make many of you reading this happy chappy’s :)

Moving on, we have the Coco Calming mist. Also 100% vegan and containing that lovely Mexican Community Trade aloe vera as well as bisabolol and coconut water (my fave thing ever) from Brazil to calm and sooth dry, sensitive skin. This face mist provides instant relief and leaves skin feeling calm, comforted, refreshed and hydrated within a matter of seconds. What better than some coconut calm you down?

Last but not least we have the Mandarin Energising Face Mist. Particularly useful for those days where you and your skin is feeling dull, tired and groggy and in need of a quick boost. Infused with mandarin, camu camu berry extract from Brazil, maca root extract from Peru, and caffeine, this zingy number instantly helps to re-energise your complexion helping your skin look brighter and more rejuvenated. That citrus will have you feeling more invigorated than ever after the first spritz!

I know you’re interested now that I’ve shared my favourites with you haha! But it’s up to you to pick which face mist is for you. All 5 are vegan, makeup friendly, suitable for all skin types, and leave skin feeling hydrated and instantly refreshed They are the perfect way to give your skin whatever it needs instantly. Not to mention they all smell unreal!

SHOOT IN L.A. WITH THE BODY SHOP & COLE SPROUSE

Around this time last year, I was lucky enough to be one of 4 invited to be a model for an exciting campaign that The Body Shop was shooting in L.A. Not only would that be my first time there, but also my first time ever setting foot on U.S. soil and I couldn’t have been more excited! I have loved and used products from The Body Shop ever since my pre-teen stages so the fact that I was going there to model for them was so surreal!

A quick browse in Heathrow airport and an 11 hour flight later, I’m in L.A.X. and it feels like a dream. Like I’m in a movie. But I’m not. I have to pinch myself. This. Is. Real. Ahhhhhhh!! I find my car, and jump in ready to check in to my hotel and meet the Body Shop team and the other models (Cat, Molly and Rain) who were all so so lovely and SO gorgeous! Everyone made me feel so at ease which I am so grateful for because I am not a model and believe it or not, I get very uncomfortable in front of a camera when it comes to having my photo taken.

After meeting everyone and having a quick run through of what was going to be happening over the next few days, all I could manage was a quick bit of room service and then it was time for bed ready to get up early the following morning.

Thanks to jet lag I was up around 4, but it meant I could have a quick look around the hotel and even check out the gym. But before I knew it, it was time to jump in the car and set off to the first location in Malibu. It was stunning. You’ll have to check out my vlog to understand just how gorgeous this place was because I’m terrible at describing things! And so the shoot begins, in the glorious Malibu sunshine.

Oh… and did I forget to mention that the photographer was Cole Sprouse. Like, THE Cole Sprouse, from Friends, Big Daddy, and more recently Riverdale?! Not only is he super talented, he was also a genuinely lovely guy and it was a pleasure to work with him. The only time I was - I guess what you could say is - uncomfortable shooting with him was when he told me to watch/listen out for rattle snakes… and that no, he wasn’t joking haha!

What you might find surprising (I still can’t believe I did it) is that I also did a topless shot alongside Rain! I know right? I was sooooo nervous, but when it actually came down to it, it was probably one of the most freeing and fun experiences I’ve had. Also, it was your typical glamour shot. The Body Shop’s concept for this shot was so lovely, just two friends running round a field, frivolous and free spirited just running with the wind.

Anyway to sum it all up the shoot was a whirlwind experience, that pushed me to my limits in the best way possible. So much happened but just like that it was over in just two days. Shout out to The Body Shop and the whole team for making the whole experience such an amazing one!

Yeah I got Botox... but not for the reason you might think

Let me explain...

Yeah I got Botox.

But no it wasn’t for wrinkles or the prevention of them (although I'm definitely not opposed and will probably have a little dabble when I feel the need arise lol)!

So here's a basic breakdown as to why:

7 years of problems with wisdom teeth
This caused me to clench/grind my jaw and mainly chew on one side to be able to cope with/avoid the pain
And I believed this caused the muscle on that one side of my jaw to build up as a result of over exertion
Resulting in my face becoming uneven/asymmetrical

And I was not happy about it! Doing what I do and having to look at a face - that I would not really call mine - on a daily basis started to become more and more difficult. It got to the point where it bothered me so much that I decided that if there was something I could do about it, I was going to go ahead and do it. And no-one was going to stop me!

I started researching immediately. My initial thoughts were that I would have to do something as drastic as having my jaw shaved down. A very invasive and painful process which I did not think I was prepared to do, even after deciding that I would do anything to get my face back. I gave up looking for a solution after this for a little while until I stumbled across a video on YouTube talking about jawline slimming with the use of Botox. Of course this peaked my interest straight away and I was back on my computer spending hours researching like i had never stopped. The more I learned about this procedure, the more I concluded that this was a much more viable and also cheaper (bonus) solution for me. Not only was it virtually painless, it was also not permanent meaning that if I hated the results, they were reversible and that was a big thing for me! You know… ‘no ragrets’ and all that.

Naturally, the next stage of research commenced. I was looking all over for the best doctors in London as well as their before and after pictures, so that I could be absolutely 100% sure I was going to the right person. But in all honesty I just couldn’t come to a decision as this was a whole new ballpark for me and quite frankly, I was scared. Coincidentally, at this very same time, I received a message from @drsarahshahclinic on Instagram and after having a look through her work and a few messages back and forth I decided her clinic might be the one for me.

Initially, I just went in for a consultation. But as I explained my concerns to Dr. Shah, she started to feel around my jawline on both sides in order to determine whether the issue was due to muscle or bone. Dr. Shah confirmed what I had been thinking wasn’t a load of rubbish - I actually had in fact over worked the muscle on one side of my jaw which resulted in it becoming larger than normal and noticeably different to the other side, making my face asymmetrical.

I was so happy to know I wasn’t going crazy! When I had explained my issue to friends and family they had all said they couldn’t see what I was going on about. But of course it was something that most people wouldn't notice, but it was personally important to me and I would notice it more and more everyday.

Anyway, as it was something so significant to me that I couldn’t help but give it all of my attention and was now in a position to do something about it, I told Dr. Shah to do whatever she had to do! And so she did… in the form of a few painless injections (honestly I felt NOTHING).

The procedure was over in a matter of seconds and you couldn’t even tell that I had just had a number of little needles injected into my face - honestly, it was so painless that I myself couldn't even tell when it was happening! In fact, the only con to having botox is that the results are not immediate - there is a 4-6 week wait until you can really see the changes, and if you are as impatient as me then you’ll understand what I mean when I say I was itching to see a change in my face. But really, what difference will a few more weeks make when my face has been wonky for years eh?

At this point, I just need to mention that I often find that clinics can be a daunting place but both the receptionists and Dr. Sarah were extremely welcoming, and Dr. Sarah Shah's patience was much appreciated in particular when it came to deciding what to do with my jawline. We decided to use a conservative amount of botox at first so that we could have some sort of control over the results. 6 weeks later I went back and had my jaw topped up to get a more visible result but am so grateful that she advised me to take the procedure gradually just in case we put in too much for my liking. We took the less is more approach and I definitely felt happier knowing I could have more added at the check up appointment if the results were not effective enough for me after the first round, instead of having too much put in, not being happy with how it looked and the only solution being having to just wait for it to wear off.

I did end up adding more during the check up appointment as I wanted the optimal effect. This means I had to wait another 6 weeks until I would see the final final result. I have to admit that the change is so gradual that once those few weeks of waiting were up, I couldn’t even really see a distinct difference, until I took my after pictures that is... And oh my goodness was there a difference! Bearing in mind I had gained a little bit of weight during the time between having the treatment and seeing the results, they were phenomenal! I am so happy to just see myself when I look at myself in the mirror, picture or videos as opposed to a face that looks like mine but one I also don't quite recognise as mine!

To finish off, I just want to note that this post was not written as encouragement but more so as a means to inform people. When I was trying to research a means of correcting my jawline, I became very aware of the lack of information out there, and I would have been so happy to come across more helpful sources like the video I so luckily managed to stumble across in the YouTube vortex or even this post that I am writing now. So if this post can make life easier for someone else who is looking to do the same thing I did, then I am happy :) and I would of course 100% recommend Dr. Sarah Shah's Bespoke Aesthetics clinic if you are looking to have any procedures done!

But one pair of classics that I haven’t seen much at festivals are the Nike Cortez and I have no idea why! That is why they will be my go to festival trainer this year. Cool, versatile, but most of all so comfortable, they are ideal for dancing all day and all night in the summer sun.

THE PERFECT CAMERA FOR SUMMER - Canon EOS M3

A couple of weeks ago I was challenged by Currys Pc World to put the Canon EOS M3 Mirrorless camera through its paces in order to showcase some of it’s unique features and show you guys how you can get the perfect summer snaps by using them.

All I have to say is that the quality of this camera is AMAZING - you can shoot in RAW which I had no idea was possible with such a small camera. Which brings me to my next point. The size of the Canon EOS M3 makes it the ideal summer camera - just a little bit bigger than a point and shoot, you can take it everywhere. I could not recommend this camera more!

Surround yourself with the

things you love and what makes you happy right? That's why you will more likely than not always find me surrounded by plants. I honestly feel like they give off this energy that makes me instantly feel amazing and they literally look after you - I mean, they are the reason we are breathing!

24 HOURS IN STOCKHOLM

I've just come back from the cutest little 24 hour trip to Stockholm ever.
I was invited by the Swedish brand Lindex - a slightly lesser known brand in the UK but definitely one worth checking out!

I won't write too much here as I've got more photos to share with you as well as a vlog, but I thought I would share a few outfit pics with you guys first, as well as a sneaky peek at what to expect from Lindex's Autumn/Winter collection - which I cannot wait to get my hands on, everything is SO nice! Currently at home in my pj's working and tidying my room but dreaming of Coachella and crying over the fact that I'm not actually there! Ahh well, a girl can dream...

I think it's pretty obvious from this outfit that festival season is on my mind - from the boho flares & lace up top, to the free-spirited shaggy coat & the Lennon-esque sunglasses. And of course you cannot forget the iconic Chucks!

I'm definitely excited that festival season has begun. I feel like it is one of my favourite seasons in terms of style because it really encourages freedom of expression and spirit, and that is something that I am all for!

Even if I'm not attending any festivals as of yet, it sure as hell isn't gonna stop me from dressing as if I am!

Press days are something I need to say yes to more. In this job it can be really easy to get used to staying at home and you can begin to find going out into the outside world intimidating. You start to get too comfortable in your own little bubble and forget that there is a whole world out there brimming with new people that you are yet to meet and experiences that you are missing out on. I got stuck in this little cycle for a while always making excuses – ‘I have nothing to wear’, ‘I won’t know anyone there’. But I’ve been here before and I refuse to be in that place again! I’m taking control and saying yes to as much as I can, starting with press days which has definitely helped to push me out of my comfort zone. I left the one I am about to tell you guys all about feeling inspired, and more than anything, happy to have broken the cycle and to have done something that I would usually shy away from.

Anyway, here’s some cool pics I got of a really cool collection of brands under Sewn Agency Press showcasing their new creations! I thought I'd share because I loved it so I thought you guys might too :)

Upon arrival we were greeted with cake pops and deliciously zingy healthy juices - my fave thing ever!

RASCALS' | HIDE LABEL - Rascals' is a streetwear brand from Copenhagen that focuses on minimalist sporty-grunge streetwear staple pieces with some super cool slogan pieces.

HIDE LABEL - beautiful but affordable leather jackets that are timeless. They have bombers, biker jackets & aviator ones too!

LIBERTINE-LIBERTINE - had the coolest kind of Scandinavian vibes going on. Really minimalist and clean cut all whilst still making a statement.

THE MIX - has totally taken inspiration from a lot of the really popular sunglasses around at the moment but they have totally managed to make them unique to their brand.

ILLUSTRATED PEOPLE - is a really free and individual brand that offer some really cool and playful designs that are very reminiscent of 90's pop culture. This t-shirt caught my eye straight away, love it!

JAKKE - a very 70's inspired retro brand that make THE most amazing faux fur, suede and leather that you will come across. Such gorgeous pieces, and they are ethical too!

GARMENT PROJECT - are so on point with the luxe minimalist tennis/skate style shoe that everyone is going crazy over at the moment. They have different colours and styles to suit everyone.

KINGS OF INDIGO - a brand heavily inspired by a mix of the minimalist design Japanese denim and the unmistakable toughness of the iconic American blue jeans. All the shades and cuts you could possibly want and the quality is gorgeous! This brand also uses sustainable techniques wherever possible which makes them even more amazing!

Happy Easter! I hope you are all having a wonderful, relaxing bank holiday & are stuffing your faces full of your favourite chocolate!

Just a couple of days ago the weather confirmed that spring is finally upon us, bright sunny and warm enough to prance around in just a jumper - at least when in direct sunlight! But before it could even be enjoyed that notion was swiftly taken away by the rain currently pouring outside of my window, accompanied with an even more unwelcome side of thunder and lightning.

Instead of dwelling on that I wanted to post this little spring outfit that I braved wearing a cropped top for and bring some spring vibes to the blog in hopes that being able to dress like this will be an every day occurrence soon!

We all know that along with spring comes brighter colours, pastels and even floral prints amongst many others but I chose to wear brighter tones as opposed to colours and I think just lightening up your outfits makes a whole lot of difference when it comes to dressing for springtime.

I find my self perusing the streets of London more often than not at the moment & I also find myself choosing comfort over looking dressed up most of the time too because for me personally, that is just too much effort especially when I've got stuff to do! Funnily enough this always seems to benefit me. I am beginning to notice that the less effort I make the more effortless my outfit looks. I choose what makes me feel good and I think that as long as you feel great in your style and that it is a true representation of yourself, you could wear a plastic bag and people would love it! And this is coming from the girl who not too long ago would risk her health just to dress to other people's taste!

Style is all about confidence. It took me so long to realise that I do not need to dress to impress other people. Nowadays, I wear what I like and I wear it confidently - even if that means I am a jeans and a t-shirt kinda gal day to day.

This outfit is the definition of a typical 'Tasha' outfit. Jeans, top & trainers. This time I threw it back with a classic pair of chuck's and threw in a statement bag to add a little somethin' somethin' to the outfit! I have been living in this kind of outfit lately as it's been so cold & I'm not the best for knowing how, or wanting to dress 'well' in colder climates.

COLOUR vs. MONOCHROME

My girl Helina was kind enough to take these blog pictures for me, and man aren't they great? The way she juxtaposed a more colourful environment with my monochromatic outfit - ugh! It just looks so perfect. Sometimes these pops of colour are so necessary in grey old London Town!

Helina & I actually attended a breakfast that the wonderful brand 'Jakke' were hosting the morning these pictures were taken. Unfortunately the memory card that I used to capture the morning failed me and I lost all of the pictures.

Needless to say the breakfast was lovely and the showroom it was in held the most gorgeous display of Jakke's new range. An array of washed out pastel tones in a variety of textures and shapes. There are a few pieces I know I cannot wait to get my hands on! The faux fur pieces were so unbelievable I almost can't wait for summer to be over let alone begin, so I can wear them already!

As if breakfast wasn't enough, they also had vegan cupcakes which were more than delicious & might I say tasted even better than the average! Mmmm just thinking about them is making my mouth water!

Something a little different, a little more grown up and dare I say it, sophisticated (teehee I feel like a lady)!

I've had these crop legged trousers and camel coat for ages but have only ever styled them casually so I thought it would be fun to change it up and try out a smarter look. This was so much fun to do and I felt so cool strutting around in this outfit.

Definitely want to try dressing like this a little more often - although it's definitely a little too cold for that right now :( booo! I'm so over this cold weather, it was snowing yesterday. Snow. In March!

I can't wait any longer. I want to wear pretty dresses with sandals. I want to be able to have my legs out all day and only need to carry a light weight jacket just in case it gets a little breezy later on in the afternoon.

I live for warmer weather. So of course as soon as the sun pops out from the rock it's been hiding under, I have to snap up the opportunity to play with some spring looks as the season is fast approaching.

I'm doing this thing lately where I buy and try to style pieces and colours that are a little more outside of my comfort zones and this is exactly what I did with this outfit.

So I chose this really cute, modest but flirty dress & paired it with these playful but also kind-of-sexy lace up sandals to add a little bit of character to the outfit. The nude jacket keeps the tones of the outfit light and airy but the moto shape adds a little toughness.

Clothes should be fun and explorative, so from now on instead of restricting myself style wise I'm going to play!

So many of you seemed to love my Valentine's Day outfit as much as I did. This being the case, I did a little outfit repeating so that I could show it off even more and of course let you guys in on the outfit deets!

I fell in love with the girly take on this suit - the shape is so androgynous which made me feel powerful & badass whilst the colour is so flirty and cute that I also felt super elegant and chic wearing it.

The sunglasses I just had to have as soon as I saw them - they are so Celine-esqe don't you think?! I feel like they just totally took this outfit to the next level.

And the shoes... the shoes! The velvety black texture and the shape is just so sexy to me. I have to add that although they are high and pointy, they have to be one of the most comfortable pair of shoes that have ever graced my feet.

TOM FORD - 'VELVET ORCHID' | YSL - 'BLACK OPIUM'

I remember when I was young and first fell in love with perfume. The way different scents would transform me into who I wanted to be that day and make me feel like I was capable of taking the day ahead on with no qualms. However I quickly lost my love for perfume as I started to smell the same as every other girl my age and eventually I just didn't bother wearing it anymore.

Until now that is.

Black Opium by YSL is a scent that I was not too keen on to begin with if I'm honest with you, but one day I was just sitting around at home and I could see that gorgeous pink glittery bottle glistening from the corner of my eye. I took it as a sign that I should at least give it a go.
I cannot even begin to explain how happy I am that I gave it a chance. By the end of the day I was smitten. Not only does this scent wear beautifully the longer the day goes on, I also receive a compliment - or two - without fail every single time I wear it! It's got that kind of sexy, seductive scent that makes you feel all super feminine and oh so sultry.

I fell in love with Velvet Orchid by Tom Ford the moment the first note hit my senses. Once I had fully enveloped the complex and perfectly layered and velvety scent of this perfume I knew it had to be mine. The bottle is so chic, understated & absolutely gorgeous! This one makes me fell like the most sophisticated 'girl boss' - it leaves me feeling so empowered that I feel I could run the world.

Hello... It's me...

All jokes aside, yes I am here writing another long overdue blog post.

As I was sat here editing a kind of 'Year in Review' video for 2015 I realised that one of the highlights I mention is my blog and how I fell in love with posting. I also realise that I didn't post nearly as much as I would have like to last year and that ain't cool!

Now I'm not the type of person to make resolutions but I think if I was to make any this year, it would be to make posting on my blog a more consistent and regular thing - like weekly regular! It's going to be a challenge - finding help with the photography, being able to shoot before losing the light and editing and writing these posts alongside everything I do for my YouTube channels - but I know I can do it!

It's safe to say that my blog has been a little neglected ever since I decided to create it, but I also know that I can count on you guys to help me change that! I'd love to know what you guys would like to see on my blog, aside from fashion posts as those are a no brainer. I'd also be super grateful if you guys could keep me on track and give me a little kick up the backside whenever I need it. I want to post at least once a week - but preferably twice if I can handle it.

I am so grateful for all the love and support that you guys show me and I just want to work harder to give back what I can through my content - so from the bottom of my heart thank you guys so much!

Let's make this year even more amazing than the last :)

Weather-wise, the last day of London Fashion Week was looking dismal but thankfully Sorel swooped in and saved the day.

Perfect for the rain and cold, these chunky platform Sorel boots were the perfect final touch to my outfit. Believe it or not they are in fact a kind of heeled welly - but don't they just look amazing?! Who would have thought that you would be able to merge style and functionality so effortlessly?

I mean, I could have worn traditional wellies but festival fashion was definitely not the look I was going for - so thank you Sorel for keeping my head high and my feet dry!
