It's a Christmas party time and we definitely need some rules..

Here are some rules from Anna Dello Russo. She is currently the Editor At Large and creative consultant for Vogue Japan.

1. Don’t wear RED or GREEN outfits. 

You will look alike a Christmas tree.

2. Choose a GOLD:

Midnight in Paris..

I was very lucky to have an opportunity to attend amazing exhibition called "Art Deco style" collected and created by costume designer and fashion historian Alexandre Vassiliev. He also gave incredibly inspiring lecture "Fashion Icons of the 20th century". It was a year ago..

Than some time ago I read an article which reminded me about the Art Deco period in fashion and life style and recently I saw the movie "Midnight in Paris" where were all the fashion icons Alexandre Vassiliev was talking about in his lecture and after I read about their life style in article.. So, I was really inspired by the Art Deco period..

This is a story of my mood board I've created for my collection.. BTW this will be my first collection, so, we'll see.. ;)

[Art Deco originated in Europe and became known after the correct name of the 1925 Paris Exhibition. The exhibition was called The Great Exposition Des Arts Modernes Decoratifs Et Industriels. The style was most popular in the Stylish Thirties as well as between 1920 and 1940 by which time it had refined itself. The artist Erté was a master of Art Deco. Dancing is my passion.. Dance is my biggest inspiration in life.. I absolutely enjoyed every moment in the movie Black Swan and every garment Natalie and eny other ballerina was wearing on the stage and also garments dancers were wearing at the trainings.. Kate and Laura Mulleavy (Rodarte) made completely feminine, sophisticated and dramatic stage dresses..

Even if I'm not a ballerina, I'm truly in love with those shapes and that sensuality which is captured in garments they wear especially the tulle dresses and feathers.. And I'm definitely willing to complement my wardrobe with something feminine made of feathers and maybe tulle..

Everyone can dance or feel herself as a dancer..

Retro is a culturally outdated or aged style, trend, mode, or fashion, from the overall post-modern past, but have since that time become functionally or superficially the norm once again. The use of "retro" style iconography and imagery interjected into post-modern art, advertising, mass media, etc. has occurred from around the time of the industrial revolution to present day.

Retro fashion is a clothing style which consists in wearing clothes commonly used in the past. This way of clothing often includes garments and accessories that are characteristic of such times, and many people use them in an exaggerated way and in combination with current clothing. Examples are: leather handbags from the 50s, "bell-bottom jeans", big sunglasses, funky jackets (commonly Adidas Classics) and shoes, small neckties, chiffon scarves, sport equipment, etc. Makeup may also play a part in feminine retro fashions, with focal points being heavily-lined eyes and bright red lipstick; hairstyles such as pompadours, ponytails, and ducktails may be adopted, as well as styles that model film stars of the 1940s and '50s.

Today I drowned into the world of retro.. and I found it very charming.. Retro is so incredibly feminine which means sexy.. And that means it's perfect for VP..

Recently I did the guest post for the absolutely great fashion and music blog Pink Dossier.. So, I decided to share it with you too..

I'm glad to share a post with you about the people and fashion from the streets of my home Riga, Latvia. Naturally, I'm from Riga, the capital of Latvia. All the pictures were taken by me, Victoria Passion, on the streets of Riga.

We are all so different and that's so amazing. If it wasn’t so the world would be uninspiring and a complete disaster!

What I appreciate the most is diversity. We all have fashion--fashion is everywhere--on the streets, in the window-cases, in magazines, everywhere, but style is the gift which not all of us have.

I was lucky to catch few a of the most stylish men in the Riga:

Juris Lisenko is a musician/singer and one of the most stylish men in Latvia. I was at the beauty salon "Stila Galerija" and caught him there in his stylish pants from Vivienne Westwood.

Janis Strapcans is another musician/singer and friend of mine who I also caught on the streets. He's got his style and that's why he doesn't need the fashion. He is always smiling and that makes him so charming.

I like the people who think about their fashion and their style before they leave the home. I don't care if I like it or not, or whether or not I would wear it too. I care about the colours in their outfit, I like to see how they are playing with them, how they mix them. I care about the message that every outfit gives. I care about the creativity and simplicity, about femininity and masculinity...and about a lot more.

While I was looking at the people on the streets some of them were looking at me too :)

Fashion, I've always felt, like art, is an expression of how you feel. It is a medium through which you can convey your thoughts and feelings to the outside world. Although this is sometimes true for street style and pret-a-porter collections, the art in fashion is truly expressed in couture collections.

Elie Saab is one of the greatest fashion designers in my opinion. He is one of the few designers whose couture line really expresses something.

His work really reminds me of the artist Edgar Degas, with the pastel colours. I think they both evoke the same emotions within the onlookers. You get a sense of peace and purity with the soft colours used.

Alexis Mabille, another great fashion designer, has a completely different approach to couture. His work is highly minimalist, with the use of only one or two block colours.

His work reminds me of the artist, Claude Tousignant, who incorporates the same technique.

More and more we can see underwear as the outerwear.. One of this Spring/Summer Must Haves is definitely the hot pants or at least boy shorts..

Two basic rules for the hot pants:

 You have to be very confident personality, otherwise you'll feel yourself very badly and of course you'll look the same way..

 You have to be on a great figure..

Inspiration board for hot pants..

I'm think I'm gonna buy some hot pants.. and I like the hot pants combination with blazer or blouse.. and high heels.. mmm.. I'm getting quite exiting about wearing hot pants.. By the way having some nice hot pants would be great way how to cheer myself up for my everyday running.. one more important thing, regarding some statistics - legs are the part of woman body which the men notice first.. So, girls lets be well shaped and lets show our beautiful legs to the world..

 What are your thoughts about hot pants? Do you have ones? or Will you buy ones? If you have ones, please tell us where you bought them.. I guess I wouldn't be the only one who would like to know that.. :)

I adore corsets because nothing can make your body more beautiful and magnetic than sophisticated corset.. I love that we can see the details from underwear on the streets and in the night clubs.. But there is one huge "but", it has to be well-becoming with the place you are and of-course with your body type..

Rodarte is perfect example to all of us.. You need just to dare and follow your hart, and the miracles will happen every day in your life..

Rodarte as the brand is just 5 years old and already has been exhibited in National Design Museum of US.. Usually this kind of dignity is shown to a major fashion designers who have been working in this field for years and had conquered their place in the elite, very often only after their death their works are exhibited in museum..

Sisters Kate and Laura had no education in dressmaking but that didn't stop them.. They made 10 dresses and coats, packed them in to the suitcases and went to New York.. They had no idea what they are going to do in this huge and rough city and they had no friends there, they were completely alone.. Only thing they had was the will.. Soon, after the purposeful seeking for the opportunities in big city, they were noticed by the editor-in-chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour.. Some basic rules for wearing the Boyfriend Blazer:

 Make it a little bit over sized.. It has to look like it would be borrowed from your boyfriend.. You have to go up only one size, blazer doesn't have to swallow you..

 Roll up your sleeves.. It also will give the "borrowed from boyfriend" look, because sleeves would otherwise be too long for your arms.. also will expose your wrists and make you look more feminine..

I just gave an advice at Polyvore.com and thought why not to make a post about it! We all date and we all are always thinking what to wear..

One basic rule for whole life - all guys like high heels.. And we all know why we date.. And outfit is that thing which talks first..

Three simple advices from Victoria Passion:

 Wear something feminine, because when the man is asking you to a date, he wants to date with the woman not with the guy..

 DON't overdo with sexy, feminine look if you're not used to it.. Because nothing can foul up the date like wrong outfit in which you don't feel yourself comfy..

 Simply be yourself!! + just a little bit more feminine and wear high heels.. Make him feel that this is something special for you..

Always be yourself, self-confident and have fun in your dates and in whole life! Because life is just a game we are playing and while the game is not over enjoy it!
