We sincerely thank God that Tawag Philippines built a reputation as one of the leading service providers for our Filipino community in the USA and the world. We have worked hard to provide the level of quality that you are getting.

With this success, there are individuals trying to ride on the reputation that we have established together with our hardworking and loyal agents and staff.

In the past few days we have been recieving reports that there are individuals and organizations calling homes in the US, claiming to be the sister company of Tawag Philippines. There have also been reports that there are people offering “new unlimited products” from Tawag Philippines.

Please do not transact with them – Tawag Philippines DOES NOT HAVE a sister company in the same industry and we DO NOT HAVE A NEW UNLIMITED CALL PRODUCT.

We are investigating this issue and doing everything in our power to protect all our current and future clients. Be assured that will get to the root of this issue.

According to wikipedia…

Christmas in the Philippines, one of two predominantly Catholic countries in Asia, is one of the biggest holidays in the archipelago.

The country has earned the distinction of celebrating the world’s longest Christmas season, with Christmas carols heard as early as September and the season lasting up until Epiphany, the feast of the Black Nazarene on January 9 or the Feast of the Santo Niño held every third Sunday of January.

The -Ber months is only a few days away, can you now feel the cheery, wonderful vibe of Christmas?

The Philippines got this celebration from the Spaniards when they brought in Catholicism to our country. We call Christmas, Pasko in tagalog, derived from the Spanish term Pascua de Natividad which refers to Christmas.

September. At this time, the malls would already play Christmas carols, have gifts lined up, and sales people already wearing Santa hats.

October. Still a bit relaxed, but now,not only the mall workers are wearing santa hats. Even the street vendors are peddling it. Christmas lights start to pop upin every corner.

November. Parking slots are getting harder and harder to find. Malls are getting more packed, and gift items in red and green color are now out of stock.

December. This is where all the action is! Traffic jams, novenas, simbang gabi, midnight madness shopping, Christmas parties left and right, monito monita. The days leading up to December 24, which is the eve is crazy busy but fun! Christmas in the Philippines is mostly about family. This is the time when we show our appreciation for Jesus as a family. We spend as much time together as we can in merriment and gift giving.

How can you be part of all this?

One is by getting in touch. Calling them while they are busy preparing eases the rush, and being “present” in all preparations really keeps the ties in tact.

Another, is by supporting them financially either by sending them remittances or shouldering some of the bills.

Probably the best way to be part of the celebration while you are far from home is by surprising them! You can send gifts to your loved ones hassle free!

All these, you can achieve with the help of Tawag Philippines! We can help you call your loved ones, send remittances, pay bills, or send gifts to them.

Just call us at 1-800-672-6099! Tawag Philippines, at your service!

Cellphones were introduced to Pinoys in the late 60′s. The first cellphones were only for the select few who could afford it, and who actually felt that there was a need for it. Fast forward over 40 years to 2011 – the Philippines is still the reigning text capital of the world. With almost everyone you see on the street has a cellphone, even a preschool kid has one. Some even have multiple phones, “I need Globe, Smart, Sun numbers to connect to all my friends!”

Here are some interesting figures:

The Philippines is considered the “text capital of the world”.

In 2006, there were an estimated 35 million cell phone subscribers in the Philippines and about 350 to 400 million text messages are sent daily. This figure was more than the total daily text messages sent in the U.S. and Europe combined.

Filipinos sent an average of a billion text messages daily with about 50 million cell phone users.

Filipinos sends on average 20 text messages per cell phone user per day.

So how do the billion text messages get sent everyday? Through ELoad of course! Though some opt to pay for post paid subscriptions, the “Tingi” culture still rings true in today’s Pinoys. Majority of Filipinos still load in pre paid increments, more commonly known as ELoad.

Here is a question from Yahoo Answers:

Does your loved ones in the Philippines text or call using their cellphones?

You can send cellphone load to your loved ones in the Philippines who use prepaid cellphones in any amount from Php50 to Php1,000 anytime, and they will receive it instantly!

Sending load is easy! Below are the three simple steps.

Call 1-800-672-6099 today to start sending load from the USA to the Philippines!

Two weeks ago, NBA All-Stars Kobe Bryant, Derrick Rose, Kevin Durant, Chris Paul, “Rookie of the Year” Tyreke Evans, James Harden, Derek Fisher, Derrick Williams, and Javale McGee had electrifying games against the PBA All-Stars and Smart Gilas. The crowd went gaga over slam dunks, intense basketball and shoe throwing by the NBA stars. This is definitely one of the biggest sporting events in the Philippine’s recent history.

Behind all the glitz of the event, one cannot help but wonder – who is behind all this?

The PBA Commissioner? PNOY? Manny Pacquiao?

Manny, yes. But another Manny – one of the biggest entrepreneurs in the Philippines, Manny Pangilinan. Who happens to be a former OFW.

His rise the top story is really inspiring, the Pangilinan family always rising above the ranks. His grandfather started as a public school teacher in Pampanga and Tarlac, rising through the ranks to become superintendent of public schools and, eventually, secretary of education. His dad began his career as a messenger at Philippine National Bank, and retired as president of Traders Royal Bank, one of the larger banks in the ’80s.

Manny studied as a scholar at San Beda and Ateneo, taking jeepneys and busses and sometimes walking home when he no longer had money. After college, he joined a national competition of Procter & Gamble and got his scholarship at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School. Young as he was, he was already wa-is.

After college, he worked for 6 years in a local company, then decided to be an Overseas Filipino Worker in Hong Kong. He worked so hard and smart in his companies abroad that he managed to take the business to the $5 billion mark.

After 22 long years away from home, he came back. And the rest is history – PLDT, TV5, Smart, Talk N’ Text, San Beda College, Cignal Digital TV, First Pacific Tollways, and the MRT.

To our dear OFW’s in the USA and around the world, here is a man who went through what you are going through. He also had days when he was home sick, when he missed Filipino food, when the call of the homeland seemed to take him to the airport. But he thrived and came out on top. If he can do it, so can you! Who knows, maybe you too can have a coliseum or a street named after you!

Just believe!

There are a lot of ways to call the Philippines from the USA. Let us count the ways…

Option 1. Skype. Yes, Skype is free. Free only if you have a computer, your loved one in the Philippines also has a computer, and you both have excellent internet connection. The USA is one of the countries with great internet connection. The Philippines? Well, you’ll see a lot of this:

Because the Philippines has one of the slowest internet connections in the world.

Plus, both you and your loved one in the Philippines are subject to the hassle of trying to be online at the same time. You can’t call your son when he is at his lunch break in school. You can’t speak to your fiance on her coffee break at work. You have to painstakingly wait for them to go online at home.

And if you get frustrated and just want to call their cellphone,it would cost you as much as 24.9¢ a minute! Wow! Now that is definitely expensive!

Option 2. Yahoo Messenger. Same as Skype, this is a free service as long as both parties have superb internet connection and perfect timing. But calling your loved ones cellphones could cost you 19.9¢ a minute.

Option 3. $5 Phone Cards that promise 1 Hour talk time. Now, this is cheap! Looks very promising right? Too good to be true? You bet! These phone cards would get you through, but you and your loved ones would have to make do with choppy lines, being occasionally disconnected, echoes, buzzing sounds. More importantly, you’ll discover that the 1 hour talk time is actually not 1 hour, the ringing of the phone is charged to the hour, the connection errors, the dead air. So the promised 1 hour, is actually just around 10 minutes of poor quality conversation. you’ll spend more time talking to their customer service than to your wife back home!

Already 3 options and no sweet spot yet.

Option 4. Tawag Philippines. We can proudly and honestly say that we are the BEST option in calling the Philippines from the USA! We do not promise to have the cheapest rates, because we are honest with our rates – no hidden charges, no hidden fees. We have crystal clear voice calls, and easy connections. You do not have to key-in or memorize long pins. There is no expiration, and we do not lock you in on annual plans.

Sounds interesting? Call our 24/7 Customer Service to find out more!

Here is an example of our great rates:
