25 Movies to see before Oscar Night

2013-01-10T20:46:00.002-06:00

So you guys know it's my season..award season that is. I love award season. It's just the perfect bow to the whole year of everything popculture. It's exhilarating to see deserving people win, frustrating to see the snubs and fun to see your early predictions come true. Anyways, the Oscars are my least favorite award shows even though they are the most prestigious. I am just so over the old ass Academy now with their stuffiness/politics/sticking to old rules. They really need to branch out and see beyond the "usuals". All that being said, every year EW publishes the list of 25 movies to see before Oscar night and every year I try to watch most of it. I have never watched all 25 in all the many years I have been doing this, just because there are just some movies I will never watch, some movies are hard to find and by the time I have access I am like meh. So here we go:

1. Frankenweenie
2. Compliance
3. The Perks of being a wallflower
4. Middle of Nowhere
5. How to survive a plague
6. Looper
7. The Dark Knight Rises
8. The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel
9. Wreck-It Ralph
10. Anna Karenina
11. The Sessions
12. Django Unchained
13. Beasts of the Southern Wild
14. Moonrise Kingdom
15. The Master
16. Rust and Bone
17. The Impossible
18. Flight
19. Amour
20. Life of Pi
21. Silver Linings Playbook
22. Argo
23. Zero Dark Thirty
24. Les Miserables
25. Lincoln

So yea that's the list. How many has yours truly seen? A measly 10 - 3, 7, 8, 11, 12, 13, 14, 17, 18, 22- but I still have time. I'll definitely have upped my number by Oscar night. I probably wont see 1 and 9 sha. How about you? Leave a comment and tell me your number and which ones you've seen. Golden Globes on Sunday. If you follow me on twitter, you can look out for my commentary. Have a wonderful weekend!

The Diversity Complaint

2012-06-24T13:58:00.003-05:00

Every now and then America picks on something to either pick on or hype up. I'll give you examples. Oh 50 shades of Grey is fantastic, the whole nation gets 50 Shades fever. Oh Emma Stone is the next best thing, the whole nation goes crazy and decides they love her and cast her in everything. Most recently, a new show "Girls" written, directed and produced by 25 year old Lena Dunham debuted on HBO, everyone raved about it and it was the topic of discussion, both good and bad (still not sure why) but anyways suddenly the criticism that it lacked diversity came up and quite frankly I was surprised. A lot of TV shows "lack diversity" so to speak (anyone remember the "Friends" backlash), so I couldn't quite for the life of me wonder why Girls was being singled out. I usually don't care about how many minority characters are in a show but at the time I think I read an Essence article that made me kinda see their point for a second but it quickly left my mind...till two things happened that made me actually think about the topic.

There's this reality show on the Sundance channel called "Push Girls" about women who are paralyzed from the waist down and are in wheel chairs. I was watching an interview with them and one of the girls said she definitely feels that their "kind" are under represented on TV. I was like hmm. Then there is this new show on ABC Family called Bunheads, when it premiered Shonda Rhimes (writer and creator of Grey's Anatomy, Private Practice and Scandal who is famous for having minority characters in her show) tweeted:

"Hey @abcbunheads, really? You couldn't cast even ONE young dancer of color so I could feel good about my kid watching this show? NOT ONE?"

Harsh words?

I don't know but it got me thinking. For one, let's be realistic, everytime someone bitches about lack of diversity, the first thought is "no black people" even though there are a bunch of other minority races. Based on what the Push Girl cast member said, the hard truth is every group of people cannot be represented on a 30 minute or one hour show. Everyone will have a complaint - the gays, the little people, people with downs syndrome etc etc. Some may say noone makes complaints when all black shows have no white people (come to think of it, there wasn't that much noise made when Kelly - the only white character from "The Game" was fired from the show). The response is usually that they already have enough shows and have more opportunities than their black counterparts.

Speaking on Shonda's tweet, I actually understand where she is coming from. I think sometimes as Nigerians, we forget that African Americans have a different view point and upbringing. I've heard so many times by older African Americans how excited they were when they saw someone like them on TV and it gave them hope that they could pursue a dream. ABC Family caters to a younger teen/tween crowd and I can see how easily a young black girl might think being a ballerina is "just for white people", sometimes I think we underestimate how easily influenced young people are especially by the media. In conclusion, do I think TV shows have a social responsibility? Yes but there are limitations. I think for a show about adults like Girls or Friends, it's a bit silly to complain about no minorities because hopefully you have lived life long enough to form and know your own relationship with minorities. The argument about being realistic is moot because tv and movies are not reality. With a show that affects young kids/teenagers, I feel it can't hurt to make extra effort in showing more minority faces.

Some things to think about before I go though is, again noone can be pleased because I am pretty sure I read an article about how having the token black guy or girl in shows is cliche and we can't forget that it's a business and unfortunately, all black shows don't cross over to mainstream audience like they used to, so there's that to consider. What do you think? How important do you think racial diversity is on a TV show?

$$ Child Support $$

2012-05-03T20:32:00.000-05:00

Child support is so common now in the States, it's like a past time. It's the best the law can do to hold guys (in most cases) accountable for their children. In some cases, it seems unfair. I've always been fascinated by the whole child support thing because we all know that money isn't solely going to the kids, a lil' sumn sumn is going to the mama's packet (at least in my opinion). Now when it comes to celebs, the amounts they pay are so ridiculously large I am wondering how they spend that much on just kids. Say, you even say it goes to school fees can't the dad just pay that separately. Anyhue, thought I'd just share with you some amounts that are being paid out there in Hollyweird.
Eddie Murphy pays Mel B $51,000/month
Linda Evangelista is in court requesting $46,000/month from her baby daddy (Salma Hayek's husband) Charlie Sheen pays each of his baby mamas (Denise Richards and Brooke Mueller $55,000/month. Total of $110k
Melissa Etheridge pays her former wife $23,000/month and even then she is requesting more
Usher pays Tameka child support but is demanding an increase because she feels his income has increased substantially since their divorce. (WHat has that got to do with the kids??)
When Britney got a divorce, she had to pay Kevin Federline $20,000/month
Russell Simmons pays Kimora Lee $40,000/month P Diddy pays about $250,000/yr total to all 3 of his baby mamas
Mel Gibson paid his baby mama $750,000, still pays for the house and will continue to pay additional support for the kid
Tiger Woods ex wife Elin cashed out big with $100mill, I can only imagine what he has to pay in child support for 2 kids.
The head scratcher of them all is NY Jets QB, Antonio Cromartie. This fool has 10 kids and twins on the way by 8 different women. Now he has a $35million contract but in 2008 he had to request a $500k advance so he could pay off outstanding child support payment. I can't even imagine what those are.

Some of these amounts are some people's salaries for the year! What do you think? Is this okay because they are celebs or you think it's too much?

What's in a fake name?

2012-03-11T20:16:00.002-05:00

We all know that most celebs change their names. Here are a few to add to your useless knowledge pile.

Ginuwine - Elgin Lumpkin
Snoop Dogg - Calvin Broadus
Macy Gray - Natalie McIntyre
Jack White - John Gillis
Miley Cyrus - Destiny Hope Cyrus
Bruno Mars - Peter Hernandez
Amos Lee - Ryan Massaro
Nicki Minaj - Onika Maraj
Clay Aiken - Clayton Grissom

And this is what the world has become....

2011-09-13T19:34:00.006-05:00

I got this as a broadcast and almost deleted it but my jaw dropped. This little girl wasn't just copying what she saw on TV. It's like she knew what she was doing and that was worrisome. Let's not even talk about the boy or the people cheering them on OR whoever the retard was filming it. Sigh.

Ok I can't get the video posted so just click on this link - Here ya go

Tid Bits

2011-08-29T19:49:00.002-05:00

I am currently watching Basketball Wives: LA and I don't even know what I think, all these hoodrats with tattoos everywhere, speaking ebonics, fighting in public, wearing tight ass yeast infection pants with fat bulging out everywhere. I can't.

The VMAs were actually okay last night. I can't get over how Beyonce announced her pregnancy though. She stopped on the red carpet, said "I have a surprise" and put her hand over her belly. I dunno, even for Beyonce that was...weird. Then again after her performance she unbuttoned her jacket and rubbed her belly. I thought it was cute but it was still all so bizarre. Congratulations to her and Jay though.

Adele is awesome. She could easily have been cast aside. She isn't manufactured and isn't skinny. But she sings from her heart and it's genuine and therefore relatable. "21" is the stuff great music is made of and I totally expect her to get album of the year at the grammys. Can't wait to see her next month.

Cowboys and Aliens cost $163 million to make and opened with $36.4million. somebody say ouch. Thank God for international markets.

Justin Timberlake and Jennifer Aniston. What do they have in common? They both can't carry a movie. These two are so hyped and everyone knows I love me some Justin but check all the movies they've done (Aniston does have a few years on Justin) but they don't do so well UNLESS it's an ensemble movie. Read: Justin in Social Network and Aniston in Horrible Bosses.

Everyone has like brutally SLAMMED Carter IV. I have the album but yet to listen to it.

The Hunger games are currently rocking my world. Great Book. I am on Book 2

Kim Kardashian is just as self absorbed as her mom. Kim Kardashian's husband seems like a douche. Oyibo pple dating are weird. Like how you don't meet the parents TILL you are engaged. How the hell did Kris not know that Kim was married? Is google dead?

I have absolutely no desire to see The Help. Great book but I can't help but think it won't translate. I'll see it eventually.

Reality shows won't be the death of me.

Katy Perry is manufactured. Katy Perry has a record with Michael Jackson for the most #1 singles from an album. This bothers me. Now I know I am the girl who likes any kind of music, no matter how poppy but I dunno, it's Michael men. Still can't believe she was nominated for album of the year at the Grammys.

I think that's all the pop culture tidbits I got right now. Have a great week.

My current favorite songs

2011-07-28T19:45:00.004-05:00

Just thought I'd share a few of the songs that I have been listening to a lot more than others.

The Band Perry - If I Die Young
This was love at first listen. I heard this song and had to have it. Sure it talks about death ( One of my favorite lines: A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell them for a dollar. They're worth so much more after I'm a goner and maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin'. Funny when you're dead how people start listenin'). I looked up the inspiration for the song and they say it was basically to encourage living every moment to the fullest cuz life is short.
">

No, my obsession with The Weeknd isn't over. I am still in lust with this album. I woke up one day and High for This was my favorite song. I put that thing on repeat and sun bathed in the goodness of this song...many times.

My love for bubblegum will never die. I mean, I am the girl who went for a BSB concert not too long ago. Britney Spears' "I wanna go" always puts a smile on my face and oh yez, I whistle along.

My latest Brit import Ellie Goulding. I love her album and I like her voice, she sounds so animated. My favorite song on the album is The Writer

She is not that well known but Yemi Alade has a song with Eldee "Fi mi Sile" that I really like and is always a good song to dance to

Please feel free to share your favorite songs.I can never have too many songs!

Shuffle, Shuffle, Shuffle....Hard

2011-07-15T20:30:00.003-05:00

I have no excuses. I have no words for how much I neglected this blog. I am going to try my hardest not to do so again. I decided to press play on my music library and see what pops up. I'll list the 20 songs that pop up. Maybe you'll find a song or two that you could add to your playlist (Chei, music library no fall my hand today oh!). Alright here we go:

1. Speechless - Lady Gaga. I like this song a lot. It's laid back and bluesy and showcases her voice. Her live rendition of it is also pretty ace.

2. Paris - Mateo. If you haven't heard his mixtape (Love&Stadiums) you should. I love his voice. He covers a wide range of songs. This song samples Coldplay's "Reign of Love". Beautiful song.

3. Used to love him - Lauryn Hill. The ya eye don shine theme song. I mean is there a bad song by Lauryn on the Miseducation album?

4. I've got you under my skin - Michael Buble. Loves me some Buble. I be feeling all cultured whenever I listen to this song hehe. Oh and it makes me daydream about my dream on doing a dancing with the stars type show. Stop laughing at me!

5. Raphael Saadiq - Radio. Love this dude and his latest album. This song transports you to American Bandstand times doing the Mashed Potatoes or something. lol

6. Lights - Frank Ocean. I love everything he does. This isn't one of my faves but I classify it under some songs of his I call the "sellout songs".

7. For your love - Chris Brown. This was one of the unreleased song from his Graffiti album. Honestly, I skip it everytime it comes on. This is probably the longest I have ever listened to it.

8. Bella(She's all I ever had) - Ricky Martin. His first album was nice jare. This is the spanish version, so it usually gets the skip.

9. Burn - Usher. I actually have no comment on this. The video just popped up in my head though.

10. Rest - Bruno Mars. This was from his mixtape. Very bleh something. I don't think I have ever heard this song before.

11. It's a Man's Man's Man's World - Seal. My very favorite song on Seal's Soul album (all Motown covers). The strings on this song is awesomeness. Can you tell I love this song? Seal is quite underrated actually.

12. Wicked Games - The Weeknd. They were bound to pop up sometime. I lurve, lurve, lurve this band/this man whatever they are. This song is depth personified. I understand that sometimes I might not be what's considered normal but when someone says: "And that's my motherfucking word too. Just let me motherfucking love you", that is something #don'tjudgeme

13. Over you - Daughtry. Love the tone of his voice. I remember when he was on idol and everytime I saw him all I wanted to do was lick his bald head. I like this song.

14. The miseducation of Lauryn Hill - Lauryn Hill. Second appearance.

15. Crossroads - John Mayer. Love me some John boy. Racist dick or not. While I think Continuum is his best album. I think Battle Studies gave us his deepest songs. Guitar on this song is the business as usual.

16. I get lonely - Janet Jackson. I used to loooove this song when it came out and I loved the video. Still a jam though.

17. Green Light - John Legend. I do not like this song. I am not sure why. It just annoys me. This and that good morning song. blech.

18. Lights Out - Danity Kane. I liked this girl. It's a shame they went through the Diddy curse.

19. Words I never said - Lupe Fiasco. The song that made me get my first Lupe Fiasco album. Drums are my favorite instrument. Love the drums on this.

20. Fear - One Republic. From their very slept on Waking Up album. Very chilled song. Like most of their songs it has their unique sound.

So, ladies and gentlemen this is what my playlist gave to me. Whaddya think? Any faves? Any new finds? Can you tell anything about me from this list? Enjoy!

PS I dey vex say not even one naija song popped up sha

Just Dance!

2011-02-24T22:24:00.002-06:00

Oh blog, how I've abandoned thee. Ah well, I am here now. So in case you've been living under a rock, you'll notice that everyone is caving into the dance craze i.e all these artists are releasing singles that are heavily on the dance music side. You know me I am not hard to please when it comes to music, so I thought I'd share some of my current faves with you guys.

I am totally in love with the song. I could listen to it all day. It makes me happy and just makes me want to move (like a thousand other songs lol). Funny enough, I had no idea the original was titled "Tonight, I'm fucking you" (eek)

Enrique Iglesias ft Ludacris - Tonight I'm Loving You
">

No one does catchy music like Mr. 305 himself. Add in Mr. Autotune and this is another get on your feet song that I like

Pitbull ft Tpain - Hey Baby

This dude is actually still in college and is from Romania. The song actually took me back to my naija days and reminds me of Everything But The Girl's "I miss you"

Edward Maya ft Vika Jugilina - Stereo Love
">

Even though I still think he is an agbaya. I still like this song mucho and Mr 305 makes another appearance again.

Usher ft Pitbull - DJ got us falling in love

Would I be Taynement if I didn't include Naija music in the mix. I still think he is all over the map and needs to find his sound but ofkerse I like this plus I think it's funny. "I wan buy am for honda. I wan ta go for London"

So I couldn't find a Youtube video of the song I really wanted to post which was Reminisce's "If only" so make do with this song, which isn't really dance but nyeh it's close enough.

Show Dem Camp - Alpha Kenny Body

Feel free to share your favorite dance songs. Have a good weekend!

25 movies to see before Oscar Night

2011-01-08T12:31:00.003-06:00

As you all may know, it's award season and the Oscars are the grand daddy of award shows for movies. Every year, I try to watch most if not all the movies that are nominated so I can have my own opinion and see if I disagree or agree with the movies. Every year I go through this list from EW. Check it out if you'd also like to be in the know.

The Social Network
The King's Speech
Inception
The Fighter
Toy Story 3
True Grit
Black Swan
The Kids Are Alright
127 Hours
Winter's Bone
The Town
Rabbit Hole
Another Year
Get Low
How to train your Dragon
Blue Valentine
Biutiful
Animal Kingdom
Waiting for Superman
Alice in Wonderland
The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo
Inside Job
The Illusionist
Tangled
Burlesque

So far I have seen 9 of the movies. I have a lot of catching up to do.

*edit, I am up to 11.

My take on MI2

2010-11-28T18:12:00.001-06:00

Okay, by now everyone knows I am an M.I groupie so maybe I am biased ( I highly doubt). I am not a music critic or a music connoisseur. I just happen to like music and have an opinion and that is exactly what this is. Since this album dropped it has been divided into two - Those that like it and Those that don't, which is expected, regardless of what he brought out, it would have been the same thing. It seems that for those that don't the main complaint is that, it doesn't compare to Talk about it or Illegal Music. Should an album be judged as a stand alone or in comparison to previous work? I have no clue, I leave that to the experts. I have to say that I don't take my music seriously. When I say that I mean that, I will give everything a chance. I won't dismiss a song because Miley Cyrus sang it so it is automatically crap. I don't care if you write your songs, I don't care if you play instruments,I don't have to relate to the subject matter for it to be a good or bad song - shoo if that was the case that would eliminate every love song- I don't think "conscious artists" are automatically better because their songs are serious. I try to judge each song individually on its own.

My verdict on this album is that, this is a solid album.

You know how when you meet someone, you make a first impression which might be wrong. You get to know the person and then you understand them a bit more. That's how I would describe this album. At first listen, I called it commercial but listening some more, I wouldn't call it that. There really are no club bangers on this album besides Action Film and maybe No one curse. I listened to this album, a couple more times and I decided MI went playful with this album. Not playful as in not taking it seriously but not just as serious/uptight as his first album. It's the reason why a serious message was put in "My Head My Belle" or why "Beef" didn't have as angry a tone as a beef record should have. I also called the album Drake-ish, because it had elements of Drake's punch line (Man I clean up ya mouth, toothpick or When I'm living by the bay, Takwa) but I remember I said that the world is too old not to have similarities and almost every rapper raps like that now, but I revert back to his old albums and MI has always been a master at wordplay. He has clever lines on this album that bring a smile to my face.

The Pros: I like the whole vibe of the album. I like the variety of rap styles he shows us. Listen to Number One, Slow Down and No One Curse back to back and see how different each style was. I like the family vibe, how he incorporates his choc city boys on (OMG, Brymo better not fall my hand on his album, the man's voice is ridunculous). Wild Wild West he sends a shout out to his homeland, Represent sends a shout out from the choc family and Unstoppable shows us how he met each of his fellow Choc brothers. I like how he had a balance of no name guest artists and famous guest artists he introduced me to Naija's john legend aka Praise who absolutely killed Epic. I heard about Waje, who I had never heard about before on One Naira. I liked the beats on every single song, even the songs overall that I thought weren't so good. I like that we have 18 songs on an album, I hate when artists have like 9 0r 10 songs and that's it.

The Cons: Ok, so everyone don complain tire about the skits. I now skip the skits because I am listening to the album over and over but in the beginning I won't lie I chuckled at the skits. I am probably in the minority that sees what his whole idea was. You know...MI2, the movie..to be fair each skit connected to the next song and made sense, at least to me, it was reminiscent of Kanye's College Dropout. He saved naija hip hop or rather brought it to the limelight, had a great year but still went through times of naysayers etc. Now one skit that should be removed and not to be heard of again is the skit after One Naira. Geez Louise, that skit was awful and annoying all at once plus I think the person who voiced Jesse inhaled helium or something. There was one too many, I am the greatest on this album. I have no problem tooting your own horn, heck his job is not easy and everyday I see people tooting their own horns in life and in social media but I hate when things are done in excess (like Nicki Minaj's british accent)but you know if he spoke about money, girls, cars or sex in excess, i'd still complain

I feel like I am blabbing so I will just summarize my thoughts on each song:

Action Film - I think this is my favorite song on the album. Brymo's voice, the beat and the overall fun nature of the song.

Slow Down - I like. Very chill, very mellow. Very grindable song. Did anyone else hear snippets of Oleku in it?

Number One - So, I am igbo and I usually don't like igbo songs. I didn't like this song at first but now I love it. I like how he tries to rhyme everything ending with an ah!. The highlife/hiphop fusion is kinda nice, don't think I have heard that from naija before. Can I mention, I like the way the beat changes when he says "they should switch to Makossa". I do wonder if any non igbo person would like this song. I have a friend who doesn't care for songs in Yoruba because she doesn't understand what they are saying. Sha this songs makes me wants to shake my waist, igbo style!

Anybody - Like I said, I like every single beat on this album, but this song overall just failed like a deflated balloon. I can't tell you what's wrong with this song but something just didn't connect.

Nobody - I think I am the only one who didn't hear this song earlier. I will say I am not a fan(indifferent)of Tuface but there's a reason why he is still standing compared to those who started with him -*stylplus *cough*. I feel like he held his own on this song. The song itself was a sincere song.

Beef - lol. biko who can tell me MI and Kelly Handsome's beef? I thought it was with Mo' Hits. I like the chorus and how it incorporated beef(kpomo you no chop, fish e no chop, goat e no chop, e say e want beef), he gave iceberg one line and everyone heard the Kelechukwu line. I laughed at "Why you mad at my flow, you be tampon?". The chorus did sound like a Don Jazzy chorus though.Oh and there's this beat that comes in at the beginning and at the end, i like that.

Wild Wild West - not one of my favs. Actually I skip it. I am not from Jos sha.

My Head, My Belle - So, I confess I don't like naija songs that are about naija problems and how we can fix it. Not one of my faves but I like the playfulness of it.

One Naira - Men everywhere are dying for this song, apparently we females are golddiggers. Anyways, nice song, nice voice. I'm just bothered by the part where she says "Mu na gi ga nwu garri", it sounds like she is pronouncing nwu wrong. But that's just my OCD.

Craze - I like am, not in top faves but I like am.

Undisputed - Jargo had to have produced this because it sounded like one of his songs. I like am.

Epic - I still haven't met anyone that doesn't like this song. I'm fucking Epic yall!

Imperfect me - Awesome song. This could be the soundtrack of my relationship with God. Give or take a lot of lyrics lol

Represent - I especially like the intro, where they told the girl to wake up because "film don finish", then my voice crush- Brymo comes on. I like

Unstoppable - The piano intro to this song gets me everytime. I loves it. Introspective song.

God Bless You - Soooo, I heard this song earlier in the year and STILL it hasn't grown on me. It's a beautiful song don't get me wrong, it just does nothing for me.

Somebody Wants to Die - Shet! this song go hard! This was one of the earlier released singles.

No One Curse - I hear this song and my head moves in repetitive fast motions all through. I love this song.

Overall. I like the album, it was different from the first two but MI didn't lose his essence. Let me know what y'all think. Do you like or hate the album?

Have a great week ahead!

Willow Smith

2010-10-19T20:30:00.002-05:00

So unless you have been under a rock, you must have heard or seen Willow Smith's "Whip my hair" video. Yes, Smith as in the spawn of Will and Jada (Pinkett) Smith. Ok I confess that, I saw people referencing hair being whipped back and forth but I didn't pay it no mind. Then last week as I listened to the radio, I heard a song where the chorus was a repetitive chant of whipping her hair back and forth and I'm like "oooh, it's a song!" theeeeen I find out that it is Willow Smith's song and my first thought is "damn, the person singing sounds too grown to be a 9 year old". I heard she just signed with Jayz's label not too long ago, so I wasn't expecting a single so soon.

Anyways, I watched the video and I have to say it was very well done, very age appropriate and the song is a catchy song. Chic is like a miniature Rihanna so its all good in the hood. But as I watched the video, I couldn't help thinking this girl is 9!!. Like 9, yo! She has her own sense of style, she does interviews like a mini woman and seems so self assured. That's pretty young sha. Would I want my daughter to be thrust in the jaws of this fame scene at such a young age? Me I know its a resounding no!!I just feel there is plenty of time. Besides peaking early, especially in this day and age where careers don't last long (although she can fall back on acting). There are just some things you can't get back, like your childhood. Yes, she probably will be homeschooled but...I dunno maybe it's just me but I just really feel it is important to be a kid. Being grownup is not a beans, whether or not you have money, it just comes with its own wahala. Just wanted to point out that I am not hating on Willow in any way because she can actually sing and sounds waay older than her age, they were just thoughts I had as I watched the video.

What do you guys think?

Entourage

2010-08-15T16:06:00.002-05:00

Entourage is a show that was conceived by Mark Wahlberg and is pseudo based on his life as he started in Hollywood. It's a show that's geared towards the male audience and is quite popular now since it debuted in 2004. I think of it as the male sex and the city and where girls try to identify what character they are in SATC, groups of guy friends try to assign which friend is to what character in Entourage. I am a fan of Entourage but I think it's time for the show to end.

I am a big believer in humans evolving and learning from life over the years and I just feel the characters are stuck in a rut and surely people that old can't still be that clueless. Besides E, the rest of them seem to be doing the same things over and over. Vince is still a pansy, dude doesn't even score as many chicks like he used to, Drama is still a whining drama queen, Turtle well I like Turtle but he is still the same and still their errand boy, Ari is still funny but is still yelling at everything. I should mention that i admit that I am usually turned off my older characters that don't learn from their mistakes, which is probably why I didn't like the movie, "It's complicated", I got turned off by "Weeds" ( I mean how long can a so called mother continue to be doe eyed and act all innocent while she is a drug dealer) and I might be headed there with "Californication". Let's even forget the evolving part, Entourage is just not as funny anymore, this season has been such a snoozefest, with the season premiere being the ultimate lullaby. And instead of dragging us through this painful downslope they should just end it.

I had this thought after watching the season premiere and even mentioned it to my friend and since then, they've decided the next season will be the last and then there will be a movie and I am in complete support of that! :)

Hope everyone is having a good Sunday, just thought I'd share.

Gbagaun!

Oh my word, I just like abandoned this blog sha. I really am sorry, I should never abandon my blog oh. I don't have much to say really let me do an off the wall post.

So if you have not heard Jesse Jagz, Jag of all trades, you are on a long ting oh, that album is hot and I have dubbed him the Kanye West of Naija. If you disagree, jump inside gutter. His songs are not the same yet he managed to make it flow in the album and it didnt sound all over the place. My faves are Wetin Dey, Intoxicated and L-O-V-E U, but the whole album is hot sha.

Don Jazzy is a beast in his domain.

I'm tired of hearing about Lindsay Lohan ugh

Ok I am done talking, watch this video.

Now watch it again and focus on the little boy and see how he lobbied. Hilarious.

RIP to the King of Pop

It's been a year already since he passed. I am not going to attempt to even write a tribute or say anything because it's all been said. Everyone knows of his awesomeness. May his soul rest in peace and may God grant comfort to his kids. Enjoy a few of his songs. What are some of your favorite M.J songs?

To Cross the Line or Not...

2010-06-22T00:46:00.003-05:00

A fellow blogger spoke about this song on his blog and this is not the first time I am feeling Ms. Vivian Green's lyrics. I should take more notice of her song writing skills. It's pretty much a song about going from friends to lovers. Note I said song writing skills, because besides Emotional Rollercoaster, I can't say that I like any of her songs like that but I like reading the lyrics sha.

The skin against my skin
I'm begging to resist
I want to scream for more
I want to run out the door
The skin against my skin
The skin of my best friend
We never even kissed
So how'd we get to this?
He loves me oh so much
But he never shared his touch
As natural as it feels
I don't want it to kill
Something so flawless
That we both cherish
And as bad as I need it
We could ruin something so perfect

Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost
Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost

He thinks we'll be fine
Maybe create a stronger bond
But then he just a man and clearly I'm all women
When we get up to leave, tell me how it will be
And the next time I see you
Will you feel like a stranger?
Have we entering a danger zone?

Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost
Can give to me just like...No cause we're perfect
Damn it feels so good to...No we're too perfect
Who made to rules, who drew the...Line shouldn't be crossed
What if it's the best thing
What if it's all lost

What if we want more from each other?
What if we become only part-time lovers?
What if our drama-free friendship suffers?
What if everything we've built get lost under the covers?
Will I think it's the same the way you scream out my name
Thought it would ever come to this
Who'd thought I'd like your touch, your kiss
I don't wanna miss this opportunity, maybe we're suppose to be
Stop askin questions, and guessing and keep it going
